Lung-Faa DePoitiers The name U2 was suggested to the band by a DJ named Dave Fanning. He gave U2 much support in their early days when they were called "Feedback" and "The Hype". (I believe), they had a call in poll on Irish Radio suggesting names, and U2 won. It sounded kind of mysterious, kind of the military thing with the spyplane, and then the whole "You Too" thing. But Bono has gone on to say in later days, the name really stinks in their opinion, but they're labelled with it now! I like the name myself. That's just amusing in my opinion. Not completely what I thought it would be. But yeah...
Bono's funny XD
