"Heh heh...You're getting better!" Marshall lied with a smile. He knew Gaius wouldn't let him go easy on him, as unfair as it felt. "Though you sure you don't want me to give you a bit of a handicap? Like, I could play a character I'm not very good with or...Um...Some thing?" Marshall asked again, knowing Gaius was too proud to ever let him do that.

"Nah, just when I'm getting better? Come on, another round!" Gaius jammed the select button again.

Didn't matter to him that he'd get his butt handed over again. In Gaius' mind, it was a matter of pride, and letting his opponent, even if it was just Marshall, go easy would just be cheating. He'd tough it out!

"Well, okay then..." Marshall said, as another Arena appeared, this one a large gladiator dome thing with dragons or gargoyles watching in the stadium. The longer you played this game the more silly you realised it was.

Marshall prepared for another beat down on Gaius' Ninja, who by now had probably growned accostomed to having its vital organs shattered. As Marshall's Chinese man jumped into the air to unleash some generic attack...Marshall realised what he had done. His attack, for the first time in 20 games, had missed.

"...Crap."

Gaius seized the opportunity, or at least button mashed in Marshall's character's general direction. By some luck, he managed to get a couple combos in, but his fighting style was still far from being up to par. It was only a matter of time...

Marshall's rhythum was completely gone now, and he found himself frantically pushing buttons. He wasn't even sure if he was doing this on purpose or not. But regardless, Gaius' had the upper-hand for the first time in over 20 games.

He wasn't sure how it'd happened, but Gaius was thrashing Marshall's fighter with wild abandon. Suddenly, the game announcer shouted "Finish him!" Gaius's heart lept.

"BOOYAH!" With a wild shout, Gaius pounded the buttons with the full force of his fist. It got the desired effect, as Marshall's character was obliterated, but at the same time there was a CRUNCH and the entire arcade box shook. One of the buttons looked to have been badly broken, and another was stuck in the depressed position.

But that didn't detract from Gaius' cheer. "I WON!" he whooped, tail waving back and forth excitedly as he pumped the air. The moment didn't last long, though, as his body reminded him of the abuse it'd just taken. Gaius winced and sucked on the side of his hand. "Ow..."

Marshall didn't even notice that he lost, but he DID notice how Gaius had broken the Mortal Kombat machine. One of the buttons was permanently pressed down, and another one was just...smushed.

"...You really don't know you're own strength, do ya?" Marshall said, eyes bulged out of his skull and mouth agape.

Gaius continued nursing his hand, giving Marshall a pathetic look. He felt bad, breaking what seemed to be one of Marshall's prefered games. "I didn't mean to... was just caught up in the moment..."

Once his hand stopped throbbing so badly, Gaius turned his attention back to the machine, frowning. "I didn't know videogames hurt that much! That was hard!" he said, whiping his hand off on the side of his pants. "Are they all like that?"

"If they're all plastic and metal? Yes, they are all built like that." Marshall sighed, looking at Gaius' hand. He thought it was funny how caught up Gaius got in the game, but even still he didn't like to see his freind hurt. "C'mon, lets head to the infirmary and get that hand bandaged up." Marshall said with a smile, not really caring that the game itself was busted.

"Sorry for breaking your game..." Gaius hung his head ashamedly as Marshall ushered him out of the arcade. His hand wasn't too bad, aside from a couple shallow cuts from the broken plastic.

"Still..." a glimmer of hopefulness shone in his eyes, "I did pretty good on that last game, huh? Did you see that punch-kick I got in? That was pretty cool!"

Marshall giggled, "Yeah, It was pretty cool...And don't feel sorry 'bout the game, okay? Its just a game. Besides, the Labs have more than enough to pay for it!" Marshall said, feeling like a spoiled brat but not really caring. He felt it was a fair trade; they took away his humanity, they can be at his beck and call.

"Though maybe next time we'll try a little less extreme one...Maybe that one with the fake guns. Can't cut up your hand with a fake gun, neh?" Marshall said, feeling rather happy that the "infirmary" was barely 10 feet away.

"I dunno, can I pistol-whip videogame people with them? I bet I could find a way to hurt myself somehow..." he laughed, feeling better since Marshall didn't seem upset. It was a short walk to the infirmary, and Gaius soon had some stingy antibiotics dabbed onto his hand and a couple band-aids on top. "There, all better!"

He glanced back at Marshall. "Uh, what do you want to do now...?" Now that the initial adrenaline had died down, he wasn't really sure videogames were the best idea.

Marshall shrugged, not really wanting to go back to his duplex just yet. "...Hey! I just noticed! We match!" Marshall said, holding up his large, bandaged foot with a smile. " 'Course, mine was from being barefoot...Not playing a Video Game." Marshall chuckled.

Gaius frowned at the foot. "What were you doing barefoot? Walking on nails?"

"Heh heh, Rocks, actually. I was walking through the Jungle, and since I can't wear shoes no more..." Marshall smiled and shrugged, as he walked over to the Cafeteria. His sweet tooth was acting up. "C'mon. Winner buys lunch." he smirked, even if there was no real 'buying' on the island.
