che_hyun Aiko_589 you dont even want to know how business people write it. Hee hee, sort of like a doctor's signature. Those ones are basically just squiggly lines. xd . I don't think I can read doctors' handwriting in general, not just their signature

I love writing kanji!! It's so much fun! I have lot's of fun drawing the harder ones, since they are so much fun and actually look more Asian. And so from the ones I learned so far (which isn't much) I like because it has so many strokes. What else is fun... Oh, 食べる is also fun. And 飲む is fun, too.

pink_kitty16 To be honest I think your kanji really sucks. No offence...but no one writes 女 like that. It looks like a sloppy hiragana "se." Also, it looks like your stroke order on 正 is off. The bottom line should be longer on the left side. It looks like you connected it to the vertical stroke. I've been studying Japanese for almost 7 years now and I just spent a semester in Japan. to che_hyun- your curly thing on the end of your letters is ok. She's native. Her handwriting is authentic. I've seen written kanji in movies and dramas and some actually do write like that.

ChainedFury Can you post what the signs mean? In order she wrote: 冖 (radical) 正 correct 足 foot 廻 速 fast 冷 cold (object) 女 woman 目 eye 品 goods 梅plumI don't think I need to explain what they all mean though.

Wow. It's been along time since any one posted in here......
I have a friend and her Japanese is so messy I couldn't read it at all and to gte like one word took me half an hour. It was so hard. Then the girl who translated it for me was no better and her English writing was bad too. But like my pen pal writes like a computer in English and her Japanese just looks cute. I was always so worried about how my hiragana looked when I started Japanese and then my friend told me its not a big deal don't sweat it and after seeing so many people write just plain and not printed like a computer, I loosened up and just started writing naturaly. As long as its legible and follows the stroke order I don't think it's a big deal. Just have fun and know how to write tidy and your own style. Just like we all cn in English. We can hand write or just normal or write pretty for love letters. Just do what works and follow stroke order. :3
