As the two spoke of leaving, Billy's breathing picked up and he opened his mouth to protest, his brain-chemicals ebbing to twist his expression into a look of neeedy sorrow, "Don'... don' go... don'..." A flicker of LED, a whurring of machinery, adn the octopus quieted again obediantly, "Been... goo' boy."

Sid turned his head away slightly once the light blinking, as if seeing the drugs kick in was so much worse than bizarre bodily fluids. "Christ," he muttered.
"Okay," he said, turning back to Billy. His back-up plan, which involved a lot of yelling, was scraped in favor of being gentle. "But only if you come back to the village and eat something... a lot of something."
Reality struck again, and helooked to Alec. "I'd, uh, need your help with that." Patting his knee to illustrate why was another horribly stupid mistake. Sid whimpered that time, but tried to cover for it by adding, "You've got two good legs, anyway."
Then again, with the teenaged shark underwater, he couldn't be sure.

The activation of the device around the man's neck confused him at first, the boy narrowing his eyes as he watched it function like he could feel Billy's pain. Whatever it was, it was definetly the work of that godamn doctor again.
As the grimace washed away from his features, Alec nodded to Sid before wading over to solid ground near the two of them. Emerging dripping with sparse bits of clinging lake moss, he moved over towards Billy with casual caution. "Kay... bu' ye best no' spew on me, mate." He muttered half-amused, looking over Billy's lumpy, slimey form as he tried to size it up for means of easy transport. Where the hell are his arms, even? I can see myself dragging the poor guy by his neck soon. He thought to himself, offering a quick glance to Sid in hopes he'd understand the issue.

Billy's wheelchair lay rusting and forgotten not too far away under the cover of one of the few closeby trees on the bank, but the octopus made little motion to draw attention to it. He simply lolled his head, his shattered mind plodding along to a louder portion of his depression, and he gave a slurred noise of misery, "Jes'... fookin' kill me ...now! I'm... done... I'm bloody done..."

"Wouldn't work," Sid said simply. He was going to have to get up sooner or later, so he reposistioned his cane on the rock, and very slowly levered himself up. Trying not to aggrivate things further proved impossible, given the way he went about it. He managed, and he sighed when he was standing again. It was easy enough to spot the chair once he was actually looking for it, but its condition wasn't reassuring.
The pills were still waiting in his pocket, and he had something to wash them down with, it was just a matter of finding the chance to do it surreptitiously. In the meantime... "I'll get the chair."
The things he did to look capable... The chair, as it turned out, was still useful, if a bit squeaky.

"Yeee ye ye..." Alec grumbled at Billy's incessant lamenting as he waited for Sid to bring the chair over. It took all his might not to roll his eyes once he caught sight of it; thing looked as dillapidated as ever. Great. An old man, a slimey blob and a rusty wheelchair in the middle of the jungle. This should be interesting. The teen sighed inwardly and leaned over to try and help Billy into the seat with very much awkward struggling. "Come on neh ye big ol' lump." He playfully teased despite all the difficulties he was having maneuvering all those tentacles.

Billy was suprisingly light, undoubtably from the weight he had lost durring his sedated period, but his many limp limbs made him difficult to grasp. His slimy wet skin didn'th elp either, and he made no move to take a hold of the shark himself, his head mearly lolling uselessly from one side to the other as he was dropped, manhandled and tugged at.

Sid stepped forward to help get Billy's tentacles in a good position for more or less sitting in the chair. It still wasn't easy, and when it was over he sorely regretting trying to use both hands for it. "There we go..."
He reached down and grabbed the bottle of Jack off the rock without much thought of risking his back. He was going to fix that soon anyway.
"Well..." Sid looked towards the village. The walk back suddenly seemed a hell of a lot longer, even without the invalid octopus to consider. "Guess we'd better get moving before he gets any more malnourished."

Alec took a step back after Billy had been successfully deposited in the wheelchair, his nose wrinkled in somesort of mild disgust. It was apparent why his expression was such by the way he was holding his arms out as if he'd touched the Plague. Attempts to stifle "He feels like snot" from ever escaping his lips, the teen took the helm and grasped the handles of the wheelchair.
"Lead th'way?" He nodded to Sid before trying his best to get the chair moving in the soft soil, whistling something cheerful like the verses to Devil's Dance Floor.

"Me... smokes..." The mentally deficiant man in question's head rolled to the side as a tentacle wormed around to try to reach back towards his bag, "Fergo'... "

"I got it, I got it." Sid walked over and grabbed the bag from the branch. He handed it over to Billy once he rejoined them.
Just as Alec asked he led the way, even if he'd been hoping to fall behind to keep his method of taking pills to himself. He made it at least a few yards before he couldn't take it anymore. He slipped cane under one arm and limped while he unscrewed the cap from the bottle of whiskey. He didn't trust his coordination enough to try and take the pills while he walked.
"One sec."
He stopped long enough to throw back both pills and chase them with some of what doctors said never to take them with. He'd apparently had plenty of opportunity to practice since he changed. He transferred the cane back to his hand and started walking again.

Alec didn't bother to notice what Sid was up to, though even if he had witnessed the moment of dependance he probably wouldn't have cared at all. To him, that sort of stuff was normal. "Dunno if 'e shoul' be smokin...?" The teen called out to Sid with an unsure sound, a complete failure in the department of caretaking.

Clumsily, Billy managed to pull open the carton and find his opened pack, smiling at the sight of the cigarette as he raised up up in a tentacle tip, two other tentacles slithering into the carton on his lap to try to find his matches, "Always... though'... I'd go.... tweakin' ou'... on somethin'."

"Cigarettes are stimulants, so they might even help," Sid said. Brilliant medical advice from the man who'd just washed pain killers down with alcohol. His own nicotine withdrawl had been lessened mostly thanks to cheating. He'd retrieved the packet he'd thrown under his bed within a day, but his new method for smoking wasn't something he wanted anyone seeing.
"I almost died of an overdose once," he said casually. "Back in the 80's. Cause of cocaine. That's how I landed wife number two."
He smiled at the memory.

Alec waited for Sid to finish whatever he was doing before continuing the trek with Billy in the wheelchair, erupting into a loud laugh when he heard the fragmented story. "Was i' like n' Pulp Fic'shun?" One of Alec's favorite movies for sure. To think Sid was ever like those people in the movie made him want to laugh even harder. It was definetly a stretch to picture him in a suit with a gun.
"Ah neveh did anehthin like tha', settled f'stealin me smokes frum me ol' man." He chuckled more, even though for the first time in a long time he'd pictured his father in his mind and it almost made him sad.
