I think Sakura said in the outside forums that you have to farm either way, and the monster raising is optional (although I'm guessing there will be a few mandatory bits in the beginning).
personally, I'm looking forward to it. It'll be different, yes, but still HM at it's core. What's wrong with that? It's not like they took out all the farming and still call it Harvest Moon.

Well, guys, this is their 10th Anniversery game, and they wanted to do something special! So they switched some things around? They still have our Harvest Moon lovable storylines and characters. I say we all give it a chance, eh? 3nodding

I'm so confused about the release date! @___@ I heard it was July 2nd, and then in was changed... So now I'm really confused.... I want it soo much... T____T *was crushed when learned the release was pushed back*

I really want to try this one out. When farming usually takes up most of the day, I wonder how you can add in battling monsters...

You can catch monsters in the caves and make them help you, in addition to having cow, chicken, and sheep-like monsters.

I'ma clothe myself in monster shirt! haha I just find this funny, and I'm looking forward to it especially since it's on the DS.

Basically. xd You can see all the monsters and what they're good for here. some will help you, like the Harvest Sprites in other games, and some are for raising.

Yes, I did say that. 3nodding I read somewhere (I believe on Fogu in the forums somewhere) that while you could have a solely farm game without doing any of the mining stuff or anything like that, you couldn't do the opposite very successfully. gonk

This is for the DS? If so, that is some freaking good graphics. I only have normal Harvest moon, though I seriously want that. What do you do in it? Why is it called rune factory?
