By the time the cub had come back over, Reid was attempting to fish again in a more shallowish part than he had before. He was shooting his sister dirty glances for eating his glory when the black cub stealthly waded his way in. When asked, Reid looked suprised and looked down then spoke quickly, but clearly. "Now either do one of two things, reach your head in, grab it and drag it to shore, or make sure you got it nice and tight on your paw and fling it onto the bank as hard as you can so it can't fall back into the water." Reid had just caught another, slightly smaller than his first, fish and demonstrated the latter suggestion.

Desero thought of his options, weighing the pro's and cons of each choice. He didn't want to drag his prize back to shore for fear that he rip it apart and well he didn't want to risk tossing it to the shore becaues well it could land short and swim away. So it seemed the best choice was for him to dunk his head into the water and sings his teeth into his prey. Bringing his head up he trotted back to shore with the wriggling fish still in his mouth. It was there the he devoured his catch.

Reid grinned, caught himself another fish and went back to the shore to eat both of his fish. Unfortunatly for him, he didn't get to enjoy the larger fish's head, but the rest was still good. As he finished he looked around and exhaled a little. Now what? He glanced over to his sister to see what she was up to. Trouble, most likely.

Desero seemed to have dunked at the same time and they both caught a fish...a sheepish grin emerged on her face she brought her second fish to the shore and then put a paw over her two catches. "He learns from the best." she chuckled. She looked out to the cub to see Raja come back to perch on her shoulder. She then called out to Desero, "Good catch."

Nimbus' clouded form trotted through Reid's lands. He knew there was a pride here, he also knew whose they were, that's why it didn't bother him to walk on in. Sure it was rude but hey, this was his best bud, what harm could there be? He quickly caught Reid's scent, the scent of two other traveling through his nostrels as well. He crouched behind a bush with that silly grin of his and waited for the "fevered giraffe" to finish his meal. Once Reid lifted up his head Nimbus pushed forward using his powerful back legs, leaping through the air with happy roar. He landed ontop of the large male, laughing his goofy head off.

Reid was about to give Lakeisha a hard time when he was jumped on from seemingly no where. He was close to snarling and striking the lion on him when he figured out who it was. The damn laugh and familiar scent gave him away. "Nimbus!" Reid flung his body off of him and laughed playfully. "How's it goin'!?"

Nimbus landed on his bum with an 'oof' and puffed out his lip. It quickly faded to a smile though and he jumped back up to his paws. "Life is as boring right now as ever!" he rolled his eyes dramaticly and shook out his frost colored mane. He glanced around a bit. "Looks like Fevered Giraffe's got some brains. Nice place," He reached up and ruffled the top of Reid's head jokingly as if he were a cub. He always did sort of look to Reid as a little brother even if they were pretty much the same age.

Death to Blondes Desero seemed to have dunked at the same time and they both caught a fish...a sheepish grin emerged on her face she brought her second fish to the shore and then put a paw over her two catches. "He learns from the best." she chuckled. She looked out to the cub to see Raja come back to perch on her shoulder. She then called out to Desero, "Good catch." Desero offered the lioness and to the mouse. "Thank you. I didn't think I'd manage to catch one on my first attempt."

"Yeah, I've got brains unlike some with their heads and loins in the sky." Reid laughed as he fixed his mane. "I told you I'd be King the first time we met, and so I am. Desero! Come here, son. I want you to meet my best friend." With a big grin as he called his little adopted son over he looked cockily at Nimbus. Sure, Nimbus had the ladies after him, but Reid had a pride and lions depending on him.

Desero had been licking his paws clean when Reid called for him. Of course he got up and started trotting over but when he heard refer to him as son he kind of paused in surprise but he continued his advances with a smile on his face. Finally reaching the two, he bowed his head to the both of them showing his respect before finally looking them in the eye. "You called me father?"

Nimbus gave a playful glare at Reid. "I'm back down to earth now if you must know, Giraffe," when Reid called for Desero his expression changed to pure shock, but only for a moment. He thought back to when he was first adopted by Santos and a warm smile spread over his face. "Desero? Reid's adopted a son eh? Well it looks like he has good taste in cubs.." he smiled at the little one and bowed. "Prince Nimbus of Rose Petal at your service, Prince Desero," he gave a dramatic performance, just being his goofy self.

Desero was more than amused by the behavior displayed by Nimbus and so he let out a small chuckle before composing himself and bowing once more. "It's a pleasure to meet you sir." Sitting back on his haunches he yawned just slightly before he began to scratch at a spot behind his left ear. "So are their lots of cubs in your pride?"

Reid's smile grew a little more seeing his best friend and his adopted little charge get along so well. Mabey Nimbus' presence would help loosen the little guy up. "I think I do. And hey, that's King Giraffe to you." He added with a little wink and a smile. Same 'ol Nimbus, like Santos he had grown in size but not in maturity. Which was fine for a Prince, but not a King.

"There's a few cubs. There's Naida's three cubs and when I left one or two more were just about to join. There'll probably be 11 or 12 lions in my pride total when I get back," he scratched the back of his neck and looked at Reid, almost reading his mind just by the way he looked. "You don't think I've matured at all do you?"

So that meant there were five potential friends for him to make friends with...that is if he could break is shy habbit of avoiding others. Hmm perhaps father...father would allow them to venture over so that he could meet them or perhaps he could go with Nimbus one day and visit...with Reids permission of course. Either way the options were good.
