SefieGainsborough Yeah, some pretty whacked stuff happens over differences of pairings. I'm a mod on the Cleris forum, and we get some pretty WEIRD people that will hack our accounts, stalk us across the internet and create hate sites based on US(Not even Cleris, US) just cuz we don't agree. And I've seen some Cleris get pretty nasty(Not to the same degree because so far we don't have a CIML/Tana in our camp) too. It just...it makes no sense to me...why flame someone because they disagree? Sure, I'll debate a little with ya, and I'll post my reasons as to why I dislike/disagree with your couple, but I'm not gonna HATE you over it. What's just as bad is that both sides of the spectrum contain these sort of idiots. -_-;;; Cleris has haters just as the Clotis do, and both sides are always having this grudge that is so strong and senseless that they let their emotions, not logic, take control of their actions. I've seen the stuff that you mentioned, and it's nasty no matter where you see it. What's bad is that the view that both have of one another is based off of the actions of these imbeciles.
For example, LiveJournal. I've been on LiveJournal, mostly for the FMA fandom, but after finding a community for Final Fantasy VII, I hopped on over and joined immediately. I had assumed that the Final Fantasy VII fandom would be as mature and organized as the FMA fandom was in the community I had joined there, but I was sadly mistaken. The community, although it did have some good and meaningful posts, was overrun by idiots who were so caught up in themselves and what they liked that they would go out of their way to demean another individual just because they didn't agree with them.
Of course, the typical rabid Cloti and rabid Cleris fans were present, and it got messy quite quickly. What was really disgusting was the attitude of some of these 'fans' (I prefer not to think of them as such, since they are an insult to the fandom itself) regarding their actions. Not only were they crass and rude, but they felt no remorse over what damage they might be doing to a nother person. In fact, they enjoyed it.
Which is why if I see any of that crap in this guild, I'm gonna bit the perpetrators head off and ban them to the closest blackhole. Honestly, in the love triangle drama, the drama is never with the characters in the love triangle, but with the fans who are so obsessed to the point of hurting others to try to 'prove' a point.
I haven't been to that community since I saw that comment, by the way. I refuse to associate with people like that. :glare:

One of the biggest reasons, me thinks, some of these threads on relationships go sour is because people don't seem to realise sometimes when their opinion runs away with them. And after being worn down by the discussion and feeling like the person isn't listening does the nastiness start. One reason why when I'm debating relationships and I say something that can really pinch someone's skin as an issue (not offensive... just contriversal) and they reply I usually just drop it and/or change the subject. My opinion is still the same and there's no fight. Everyone seems to be better now about it though. People are realizing their pinching before the claws are taken out.
Anyways... Cloud am very much for Cloud not having romantic involvement... both because that really how it is and because I think it's good for Cloud... but that doesn't mean I can't draw a Cleris pic when I want to feel warm and romantic or read a Clifa fanart when I want to feel thoughtful.

Agreed!
I don't support Cloud and Aerith together, but I find it adorable!
XD;
I support Spike and Teefs more, simply because I find it more to my liking.
I love Aerith and stuff and can see her with Spikey over there, but I'm more of her being with either Zack or Sephy.
XD;;
I read alot of fanfiction, but I mostly go towards, ahem, Vincent and Yuffie.

I don't put down other pairings in my posts, do I?
I like my pairings, but I don't mind seeing the characters with other people than I am used to. I'm the same way on Naruto, but then again I'm not far enough in the series to have fully formed opinions on what can and can't work.
I barely have right to support a pairing because the only thing I've seen relating to FFVII is the game and AC. That's it. Before I start ranting I should really check out this other stuff like The Case of Tifa and the like (or at least play DoC...).

Wow, you actually have more of a right than I do, then. The only FF7 related things I've gotten are the AC movie (burned it, didn't buy it... Wanted to) and I played Ehrgeiz (Again, burned). I played the first disc of the original, but I never beat it. Never went through the entire game. Although, I did go through DoC pretty easily.
So, I got three things. Didn't read the novels/novellas because I can't (and didn't know they existed) find them.
Guess it's all about faith in the couple, and sometimes when you're closed minded, can't really look towards anything except your OTP. I heard Bi-Polar people, like myself, have a real hard time adjusting to viewpoints apart from their own. I myself find it hard to support a couple that differs from my own, like supporting Cleris as I am a big CloTi, but I don't go around flaming people. Lest they flame my own couple, and that's when all bets are off and I get pissed.
Keheh, this coming from a 14 year old mod.

Well I didn't know about the novels or novellas either. I bought the movie (well my mom did anyway) and bought the game (last year from some an aquaintance in my biology class). I beat the game too, but unfortunately there isn't much interaction between Yuffie and Vincent in the game so I suppose if you play DoC you have almost all the evidence you really need.

Actually, I was a huge Yuffentine even before DoC. I could probably change and add to my Yuffentine essay now that I have played it, but it helps. I wouldn't buy it if you're a great gamer. You ANY good at a game, you can beat it no problem. Beating it 100% is tough, but you probably won't want to. Really boring game, some bad voice acting at times, but really good story. Though, some of the death scenes aren't as tramautic as the controversy started by Lady Aerith's death. *sigh* Monkey...

soadshuyin Alright, heres the deal. Im sick of all this bitching and moaning about whos right for who and trying to prove each other and their mothers wrong, no offense to anyone there. In the FFVII universe, there is ONE current couple and thats how it is going to remain. That couple is Cid and Shera. Thats it. There are no relationships in the games or movies other than that relationship. Now, just because I want to, Im going to say why there are no relationships that are official even though there are many, many hints towards many, many couples. Example 1 Cloud has no love. Know why? Because once he is officially associated with one character or another, fanbase is lost. The hints towards mainly Tifa and Aeris are there to please fans of both relationships. The options of Yuffie and Barret are put in there to appease other fans. Cloud will never have a set love, no matter how much bullshit proof you pull out of your a**. Thats all I should need, because thats the most heated debate that I was a direct part of. When I decide to, Ill post up more examples. That's very true. ^_^ The only coupling there really is are Cid and Shera...and that's a fact (they get married from what Strawberrie told me). No one else is...
But y'know...fans have imagination. xd

That's it, and you can beat it with guns until you fight Azul pt. 3. When he's a beast, you HAVE to use Materia. No other thing works, so you need to buy ethers a lot, man. Sucks that they make materia a necessaty rather than a bonus. That's basically why I hate the game, man. Sucks a lot... Good storyline, bad gameplay

I've watched all the episodes of .Hack//Sign twice, along with Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. I've also read the three volume manga series that the Legend of the Twilight was based off of and I think that was much better. At least I don't get the feeling Shugo is in love with his twin sister Rena. In addition to that, I've read all the novels and beaten the first two games. I'm a major fan of the series. I've played .Hack, and trust me, this game will make .Hack look like the best game ever. I hated the gameplay. It was so simple, man. Just point, shoot, run the f*ck away! So this whole game is a heck of a lot easier than fighting Cubia in .Hack//Mutation. I tell you what, it took me a little bit before I realized that when the Cubia core was green you had to use magic. I just wasn't paying much attention though. Cubia was a much better boss than Innis from .Hack//Mutation though. I beat Innis so easily I found it hard to believe that he was the final boss. The next day I told everyone I accidentaly defeated the game. I didn't mean for it to be beaten so quickly...I only just got it on my birthday (Dec 7th)....

I havent got to the final boss in it yet though, so only the regular bosses are pathetic right now...
