We got into the discussion of how my dad was trying to get her pregnant near the end of their marriage. It would have been his way of tying her down to him and keeping her from leaving because it was pretty clear that she was leaving soon. She said to me, "I probably would have had an abortion if he had gotten me pregnant then. But that's the only time."

She can see a situation in which an abortion would have been the best course of action for her... but she cannot allow the possibility that you would do the same?

What if, heaven forbid, you fall in with an abusive husband? What if you are in the exact same situation? Did you ask her that? Would she let you use an abortion so that you can get away from abuse?

Oh I am 18 already. xD Have been since June. She can't stop me from ever having an abortion now, plus I can pay for it myself since I work. She'd never even have to know about it. And yes, hopefully, if I am ever married someday (hoping it's too my lovable bf), he won't ever be an abusive man. I'm going to make sure I know the person I am marrying

No I didn't ask her about that. If the topic of abortion ever comes up again (which it may not since that isn't highly discussed among us as it is a 'taboo' topic) I'll be sure to ask her about that. :3

And we're supposed to take anti-choicers seriously after that? They can't even get their s--- together! I read those stories, and I am beginning to think that anti-choicers are insane.

1. Most Pro-Lifers aren't getting abortions. Even among Pro-Life women (who are a minority of Pro-Lifers) it is only a small few who get abortions, while being against them.

2. If you choose to debate or discuss abortion with people who feel differently than you on the topic, it really helps if you do take them seriously (it also helps if you refer to them in a less derogitive term).

3. Just so you know, I find the term "anti-choicers" very offensive. I'm not saying that you aren't free to use whatever term you like, but I want you to know that the the term you chose to use offended me.
