Wow, more Catholics on here than I expected. Cool. biggrin

I agree with everyone else though. We're not in Japan so we can't really get in trouble right now. She'd really only have to be quiet about it if she were in a place where she could get into trouble.

And I don't quite get it... sweatdrop

well, you see, if any wone said that in japan its quite assertive and offensive. especialy if the speaker had no place to sya it (for example i fi said, "my religion is much better than yours" you could say whatever)

but in this situation is very rude. and it is true, toyo tomi was angered by a COMMENT not an ACTION. so like i said HOLD YOUR TOUNGUE.

But she said she wasn't trying to sound that way.

I know we could get in trouble in Japan. That's why I'm definately being very quiet when/if I go.

Aiko I'm really sorry. I was just voicing my opinion as a member of the guild. I don't discrimintate against other religions and I think you took the meaning of my message the wrong way.

All better now?

I don't quite get it because Catholics use kami for God...

I think the idea of a religion without a central god is pretty difficult for most Westerners to comprehend because that's all that a lot of us know. Similarly to how when Japanese people ask me about my religion, they generally go, "whoa, you believe there's a being... BIGGER THAN ME? IN THE SKY? WATCHING ME NOW? Trippy!"

Cultural differences is what makes the world an interesting place, non?

What about many gods like the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and Vikings had? They had more than one central god, but it's still easy for us to see how that works. I guess the main reason I don't get it is, like I said, the fact that in a Japanese Bible, they use 神 for God.
