An open field... he would have to keep an eye out for such a place. Should not be too hard... Open fields were easily seen from above. The highlander nodded, storing the description away. "Ye just being ye is enough fer me, lass, bu' I willnae hold ye back if ye strive fer more in yerself." His golden eyes reached out to hold hers, the look within them soft, tender, & full of love.
He blushed harder at her kiss, feeling very much the shy school-boy despite their relationship already being far beyond any reason for shyness. Ducking his head Aiden continued to search the mountain side for paths down. "If it pleases ye, Lainey my love, t'is good enough fer me."
The Highlander studied a small step-like spot of rock on the mountainside, close to the end where the water flowed up. "Than I will do my best te see ye are able, Lainey-love. I dinnae ken how I might help, bu' I will do my best te nae be a distraction."
Aiden stepped with swordsman's grace onto the stone, turning to offer Lainey a hand down. "Let's see how far th' path here goes."

It was Lainey's turn to blush at Aiden's sweet words, "T-that's how I feel, too..." she said shyly, offering him a smile full of love. She nodded, "It does please me, I love everything about you, after all." She took his hand and carefully stepped down, not having Aiden's fine-tuned grace. "Alright.." it was a starting off as a bit of a tricky path, but she was sure if there was a way, she could make it. "And I know that if I'm capable of doing anything, I'll be able to do it with you."

He kissed the hand he held lightly, letting his lips linger for a moment over her knuckles as he raised his eyes to looke up at Lainey with loving adoration. This was not a time that needed words. Not that he could not speak words, just sometimes the quiet highlander prefered silence. He led her carefully down the narrow path; perhaps taken by deer or rabbits as slender as it was. It was steep & difficult, but rock wall beside them was rough & could be gripped if need be. They reached the bottom & last & Aiden blinked, showing his surprise at having actually found a path, no matter how precarious. Pulling Lainey into his arms gently he kissed her with great tenderness, worried for what he was about to ask her to do yet knowing it needed to be done to see if the place would work to meet or only to bring her.
Pulling away Aiden traced a firework on her cheek lovingly. "Now... ye must get te th' top o' yer own, beloved. I'll be behind ye te catch ye, bu' nae more. Best te test i' now, rather than when I cannae protect ye bonny lass."

Lainey took careful steps, relying heavily on Aiden's support to keep from slipping, a gasp or a squeal escaping her everytime the dirt slid under her paws. She was panting softly when they actually reached the bottom, surprised that she just hadn't fallen and tumbled all the way down. Looking at Aiden, she saw that her beau was just as suprised that they made it down in one piece. She went into his arms, taking a deep breath to calm herself, and kissed him back, her lips trembling lightly against his, "Mnn..." She fought the urge to just rush back into his arms when he stepped away, ducking her head in a nod. She knew why she was asking her to do this, but that didn't mean that she was thrilled about the prospect, "O-okay... J-just let my catch my breath," she stalled for time. She took a few more deep breaths, feeling her trembles subside before she looked back up the path she and Aiden had just come down from. "I... I guess I'm ready." Licking her lips, the first thing she did was grab the rock wall with one hand and the took the first step. She felt her foot slide a bit, grabbing onto the rock side with her other hand as well, pulling herself up to stable footing. "I... I can do this..." she muttered to herself then continued on her way up, moving slowly to keep her balance.

He hated himself at that moment, watching her tremble... wanting nothing more than to pull her back into his arms & soothe her himself. Aiden's heart ached inside him watching her ascend. Each time she slipped his heart lurched in his chest, his eyes filled with concern bordering on fear, & he had to hold himself back from steadying her himself or even sweeping her off her feet: off the precarious path & back to the top where he could calm Lainey, soothe her, & apologize with more than words for putting her through this.
It was painstaking for him... and he dared not think how it was for his beloved. Ne'er agin... ne'er unless my bonny lass wishes it herself. Much as I hope fer this spot... I'l nae put her in danger. T'is bad enough now... bu' te think o' her takin' this path on her own.... nae. We'll find another place.
Aloud he only murmured soft & gentle encouragements. He would gauge Lainey's reactions at the top before telling her of his own resolution.

(I'm a horrible person, but I didn't mean to ignore the RP! *cries!*)
Lainey didn't dare look down once while she climbed the steep path back up, though she wanted to look to Aiden to gain confidence. She knew the second she looked down it would all be over. Her heart was pounding the whole way up, biting back cries each time her footing would slip but she kept a firm hold from completely falling. I... I can do this. I have to do this. She tried her best to reassure herself, but she was scared. It was one thing to be safe in Aiden's arms while she was up this high, but on her own she didn't know if she could make it.
She knew this spot meant alot to Aiden and that was what kept her going. It wasn't until her hand reached the ledge that she really slipped, crying out as her the ground under her feet gave way, holding onto the ledge for dear life, her feet dangling and kicking, fear clutching at her heart like a vice. "Hyaaaaa!!"
Closing her eyes tightly she forced her body to pull her up, scrambling to the top of the ledge. "I... I made it..!" she said to reassure herself just as much as Aiden. Panting heavily for breath she let herself fall back to sit on her backside, her shaky arms supporting her on either side, then started to laugh a bit hysterically. "I... I made it!"

((*hugs* no harm!))
Aiden watched anxiously as his love climbed, but when the ground gave way his heart lurched painfully. He moved to catch her knowing he could, but he was proud and surprised when it became apparant his rescue would be unnecessary. Lainey had made it.
The Highlander avoided the spot of now missing earth, kneeling beside the female & taking her into his arms. Aiden stroked her back, her head, her arms with comforting, reasuring motions. But there was pride there too, & relief. "Aye lass! My bonny, bonny love! Ye did! Ye made it!"
He started to kiss her face then, hands caressing her as if checking to make certain everything was alright even though he had seen that Lainey had not been hurt. The fae shuddered softly, the tiniest sob of worry/fear/relief held in check for the climb to be exposed now. "Ye did... an' I'm so very proud o' ye, Lainey m'love. I shallnae be askin' ye te do so agin. I cannae..."
He choked a little. Pulling back to look at her tears glistened in yellow eyes full of love. Aiden ran the back of his hand along her cheek tenderly. "I cannae bear thinkin' o' ye puttin' yerself in danger jus' te meet me, Beloved. Ye mean too much te me."
The male did not move; he just held her. "T'is enough tha' ye can make it if ye wish... we'll find ano'er spot for ev'ryday meeting."

(*purrs* Thanks ^_^)
She went quickly into his arms, pressing herself close to the assuring strength of his body, her rampant heartbeat noticeable through the contact. Adrenaline was rushing through her body, tilting her head up to kiss him desperately, wrapping her arms around him. She winced gently then, inspecting her hands over Aiden's shoulder, noticing how they had rawed through the rough treatment she put them through and specked blood lightly. She held her tongue about it, though not wanting to worry her already frantic beau.
She closed her hands into fists the hide the evidence, "I... But I know how much you love this place, Aiden... I like it here, too. I..." She sighed softly. "I had really been hoping that this could be our place." But she also knew that if she almost slipped this time, chances were high that one day it wouldn't just come to an 'almost.' I don't think my nerves could go through this that often...
She nodded gently, tilting her head up to brush their lips together gently. "Can we still come here together on special occasions?"

He completed the kiss, almost as desperate. Aiden felt her wince against him & worried that he had hurt her became even more tender in holding & touching her. He did not see the blood, & through the scent of their sweat from the climb mixed with the fresh turn of the earth where her footing had crumbled away the Highlander could not smell the blood on Lainey's hands. Not yet.
"I love it, aye Love. That I do. Bu' nae more than ye, an' nae enough te put ye at risk." Aiden loved the gentle feel of her lips lightly gracing his. "O' course we can still come here together, my bonny Lainey! It can be our place on special occations whene'er ye wish it!" He could not keep the lusty sound from his voice on those words, though he knew this was not the time for such thoughts. He kissed her tenderly -to show he could without succumbing to what his tone hinted at- & pulled back ever so slightly so that he could get a good look at her.
"T'is enough tha' ye like it." Ducking his head a little he glanced at Lainey with an almost shy impishness. "An' ye've nae even seen it in th' spring an' summer when th' heathers in bloom, cover'n th' ground like a soft scented carpet."

"Special occasions, hmm?" despite the fact that she could still feel her heart pounding against her ribcage, she couldn't help but feel amused at the tone of Aiden's voice. She kissed him back, sighing softly, feeling the tenderness, letting it wash over and relax her further. "Mmmnh, just thinking about what it might look like during the spring is so romantic! We have to make plans to come here for the spring!" She looked back up at him, violet pools bright and hopeful, "Promise me?"

"Aye, lass, we will. An' I do... promise ye. I promise ye I'll bring ye here in the spring, my bonny Lainey." He kissed lightly beside each of her eyes. "Yer eyes are jus' th' shade o' the heather in bloom, Beloved. T'will be quite wondrous, te lay ye down in a bed of purple heather..."
Aiden brushed his lips along the fold of her ear, then against her throat. "Shall we bathe afore we fly fer a new place, bonny lass? I ken I'd feel better fer it, an' I suspect ye would te."
Already the highlander was moving his arms around her, ready to lift the female & carry her to either the water or the air at her decree.

Lainey blushed, "I.. I can't wait..." she spoke shyly, her cheeks tainting a lovely pink hue. She was still not used to such romantic talk, especially when it involved her being. She shivered, tilting her head up to Aiden's further exploration of her throat, clinging to him a bit awkwardly with her hands closed into fists. "Y-yes.. I... I probably stink of sweat!" She laughed sheepishly. It was at the moment that Aiden moved around her that a small bead of blood decided to escape the tightly closed fist of her left hand, staining the fur of Aiden's shoulder with a warm trickle. The bleeding wasn't that badly, but with as tightly as she was holding her hands as fists, her fingertips were putting pressure on the skin around her scrapes, forcing more blood out.

Aiden was enjoying this moment, though his fear for his love still clouded his thoughts. However as delectable as Lainey's throat was & as honest her reaction, the highlander began to notice something was off. He was about to tease her that lady's do not sweat they perspired when the iron tang of blood reached his nose & the thin drip of moisture wet his shoulder. Concern, fear, & worry filled his golden eyes as he gently pulled back, sliding his hands on Lainey's arms until he held her wrists so he could look at her hands. "Ach... lass. Ye should 'ave told me..."
His voice is softer than usual & painfully tender. Aiden lightly kisses each hand before drawing Lainey back into his arms & taking her to the water. "We must see te this afore we go anywhere or do anything, beloved."
With a tender kiss he proceeds to gently wash Lainey's hands carefully. "Dinnae let them soak te much once they're clean... they need bandaging & care...
Ach, Lainey! Ye shoulda tol' me!" There's a shimmer of tears in the golden eyes that find hers.

Lainey bit her lip gently, looking away, feeling a pang of guilt just with the tone of Aiden's voice, letting her fists uncurl so he could see the damage, "I-it's not that big of a deal... T-they're just little scratches, Aiden... I... I didn't want you to worry." Most of the fur on his hand was now gone, fleshy, pink-ish red scratches and scrapes decorating her poor hands. She felt a shiver run down her spine at the tender kisses, nodding and following his lead to the water. "I... I'm sorry..." this was what she was trying to avoid. She hated worrying Aiden like this, but she realized she should have told him to begin with. She carefully washed her hands in the water, sighing softly.

He kissed her lightly, stepping out of the water. "Nay Love. Dinnae be sorry. I'll worry o'er ye if I wish. Ye cannae help tha' now." His eyes were tender as he walked away.
Carefully he searched the edge of the clearing. It was not the most opportune time for healing herbs & plants, but it was either that or fly home for something to use. Maybe he should start carrying around a small bag with first aid remedies. Finding some of what he needed, the highlander softly made his way back to Lainey's side.
He set the things he had found to the side, ready to dress Lainey's hands naturally. "May I see them, Lainey love? T'will hurt, fer th' aloe is no longer in i's prime o' th' season an' t'is nae my first choice fer such things bu' t'is good. Th' other's will work wit' it..."
Aiden grinned, almost teasing. "Maybe we should find tha' field next. See if ye've healing talant."
