He swallowed hard and pulled out Beowulf from the shelf. "Uhm. I haven't read this one before, either...so...it'll be new for both of us." He placed it on the floor and looked at Emerald expectantly.

Emerald sort of stared at the book and then looked up at William. She really wanted to read the book, but for some reason or another, she couldn't help but to look at William instead.

A prickling on the back of his neck made him realize that Emerald was staring at him intently. "W-we don't have to read it. We could just...just talk. If you want, I mean, we don't have to."

"Uhhh.. Actually...... Well I... I do want to read it but... I also want to just talk.... You know... Well... Yea...." She had never studdered like that before and it was sort of odd in her opinion. I'm sure he thinks I'm a dork for studdering like that....

He stopped, not sure what to say. He didn't want to say the wrong thing or upset her, and in fact it was very important that Emerald was not upset in anyway... "Let's just look at picture books." He suggested. "That way, we can read and talk about the pictures!"

Emerald nodded. "Alright then..." She looked over at the bookcase and grabbed a book off the top shelf. The title was Fledgling's First Kiss. Emerald blinked a few times. Why would he have a book like this? "How about this one William?"

He turned bright red. Buri had given him that book as a joke! Sopha was supposed to have burned it! "Uhm...sure! If you want to!" He said, a little too loudly.

Emerald looked at William funny and nodded a tad. "Ooooki then..." She sat down next to William and opened up the book. "By the way William.... You look like you just came out of an oven or something. Your face is pure red."

She laughed some and put her paw on his. "It's oki though.. I don't mind. You look kinda cute anyhow....." She blushed some herself.

William blinked as he blushed even more, hearing the pounding of blood in his ears. "E-Emerald?" I uttered, before the pressure in his head exceeded natural limits...and he fainted.
