Alaqua frowned as the teacher basically said she was wrong. Well, at least everyone else's answers were wrong as well, though Raven said that Lucia was close. As the woman went on to expand a bit on the lynx girl's answer, Ala thought for a moment, then ventured, "Pretending...?" She liked to pretend. It was fun to make up things for pretend. It would be neat if pretending was part of magic.

Lucía is happy that the teacher tells her that she has come closer to the answer, quickly she writel all Raven said in her notebook, "intelligence, magic words, visualization",those had given as erroneous but they don't say that of the errors can learn.

Lucía listens Ala's answer, to pretend, but to visualize is not to pretend, it is rather to imagine what will happen. " To imagine what will happen it is as visualizing" she says as a whisper, she doesn't want that it seem that she corrects to Ala.

"Closer." For a brief moment Raven felt like she was playing a game of hot and cold with a bunch of children. She shouldn't even have had to work so hard, but a grounding like this would make her work easier in the future. They had to get used to working. Playtime was over.

Not for one girl, it seemed. The one who got close was whispering something to her neighbor. How unfortunate. "Miss Samanier, if you have something to say, please share it with the rest of us."

Not wrong, but not exactly right. Ala sighed, then glanced over at Lucia. She hadn't caught all that the girl had said, but she wouldn't have told Raven even if she had. The woman had asked Lucia, not her.

Gabby listened attentively to Raven. She smiled happily when the teacher mentioned that she hadn’t been completely wrong. The answers of the other children were truly fascinating her as well! At least in Gabby’s eyes they all made good points and on top of that they were now all finally speaking!

“Visualizing, visualizing.” Gabby repeated in a whisper before she shrugged. She didn’t know the answer on this one and judging from Sil's look he didn't either, but the guesses of Ala and Lucia both seemed pretty good! She curiously awaited miss Raven’s answer while she got her notebook and pen ready to scribble the answers down.

That was good enough. "Imagination... yes. That is part of it. But one cannot simply visualize. One must actually see, or hear, or feel something happen. If you can't, your will is lessened, and the effect of your spells will be decreased significantly. Not to mention the fact that the best solutions to any problems often require some creativity."

It was the part of magic Raven struggled with most, not that she would ever admit it.

"Lastly, procedure. Whether it is magic words, or a potion formula, or another ritual, or even just the process of willing something to happen, one must follow a procedure at all times. To deviate is to invite calamity. For example, if one wants to invoke power, but uses the wrong type of wand, they could accidentally heal their enemy." She had seen someone make that very mistake once. It did not end well.

After writing the two terms on the board, Raven returned her attention to the class. "Any questions?"

Ala listened carefully, then wrote down the last two elements. Magic sounded kinda hard. Complex, at the very least. She thought for a moment, but didn't have any questions, so she stayed silent.

Gabby had tons of questions and after writing down the last few answers she turned to Raven and began to blab: "I, um, I do have a question about the last thingy! The procedure, is that a general pro-procedure or is it different for every spell and more complicated in some situations?" She talked so rapidly that she choked on some of her words, but continued talking nontheless. "Also, a wand? Will we get one? And will we get classes in using them? So that we won't choose the wrong types?"

She breathed in and began to grin. There, that were some of her most important questions. Of course she could think of another twenty, but for now this was enough. Magic sure was hard! And so much could go wrong too!

Blather, babble, ramble, thats all that seemed to be going on here... Simon tried to remember the few keywords she gave, but for the mostpart... He was just uninterested. He had guessed, they had guessed, wasn't magic all about like some firey explosions and crap? This was really really boring for all that hype magic got on TV.

Any questions? No. Not for this. He kept everything in his mind though. Best to just sit quietly and then get out, right?

Lucía had reason and Ala seems not to be had mad, great. With a great smile she begins to copy in her notebook what the teacher says, 'Imagination more see, hear and fell something happen...' she continuous listening and writing, 'Procedure= magic words, potions, rituals or wands'. Questions? yes she have but is about procedures and think the teacher teach their later, she dont said anything.

Did that rainbow one do anything except talk? Raven sighed, but it was a reasonable question, so she went ahead. "Procedures do indeed vary, depending on the type and level of the spell, and they do get more complex as one progresses. A procedure could be as simple as focusing and saying the correct words, for a beginner's spell. Others involve movements and pitch, and eventually physical tools. Wands are among them. You could have a spell involving a branch of hawthorne cut during a waking mood, a vial of seawater gathered at high tide, and a hank of cord woven from the fibers of a lamb who has been alive a month and a day. But that would be something you would not see for a while.

"As for wands..." Raven sighed again. She had known that someone would ask. Why were spellcasters always depicted as imbeciles who waved wands and made things happen? It was an annoying image that she'd had to deal with. "Yes, you may at one point use wands. When and if the time comes, instruction will be given in how to make, purchase, cleanse, bind, and use them. It's not as simple as waving one around and saying a couple of words.

"And if there are no more questions," Raven continued, pausing for a moment even the toughest talker couldn't have squeezed a thought into, "we will end for today. Your homework is to choose something you would want to cast a spell for, and describe how each necessary element of casting that spell might work. Also, write which element you believe would be best at, and why. Class dismissed."
