Rp Record #2 - Lyris & Adonis
It was a bright, sunshiney day.
Okay, I lied. It was pouring out. It was absolutely horrid. And yet somehow that didn't deter Donny from forcing his father to take him to go see Lyris as they'd planned over the phone the night before. Donny had practically chewed Nio's head off until he called Lyris' mother and asked to come over and drop something off. So there they were, umbrella covering them both as Donny hung over Nio's back like a backpack, with a thin long box wrapped in shiny purple wrapping paper clutched in his hands tightly.
"Hoy hoy!"
Nio gave the boy a side glance as he knocked on the door, warning him to be patient without saying a word. Donny giggled at the glance, deftly fighting off the urge to chew on the box.
Lyris toddled over to the door, pulling open the door to the apartment. A broad smile spread across her face the second she saw who it was, "Donny!" She exclaimed brightly, bouncing forward and wrapping her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"Rissa, what have I told you?" Kira asked, wandering into the room, bouncing Symara up and down in her arms as she bottle feed the little girl. "You don't open the door unless either I or your father are around..."
"But Kira, it's Donny!" Lyris exclaimed, pulling back so her mother could get a good look at the little goldenboy.
Kira grinned, "Oh, so you're the infamous Donny," Kira said, looking down at the little blond. "Just as adorable as you were described... And you must be Nio," She said, looking up at the young man standing behind him. "It's a pleasure. I'm Kira."
The split second the door began to open, Donny climbed up over his father's shoulder and vaulted in a somersault, fluttering to the floor just as Lyris showed herself. He barely had time to land before Lyris had bounced forward and hugged him, which elicited a small sort from Nio that was stifled before either toddler could notice. Donny squealed in elation at the greeting, wrapping his own arms around the girl and snuggling haphazardly into her.
"Ah, yes, that is the self-proclaimed infamous and adorable Donny, and I'm just Nio." Nio laughed out, holding his hand out for Kira. "Thanks for letting us come over. I fear if he didn't come see his friends today he would have never talked to me again."
"Donny bring Lyris gift! Lyris want to see?" Donny slid the box between the two of them, without actually letting go of her. "It's pretty like Lyris."
Once Lyris opened the long box, and unfolded the victorian fan within, she might notice that the colors of the fan matched her own robes. He'd chosen it for that reason.

Lyris cooed happily, grinning, "Donny's right. It is very pretty," She said, reaching up and picking up the fan, holding it up and in front of her face, cocking her head to the side and trying to look innocent. "How's it?"
Kira chuckled softly, "It's all right," She said, bouncing Symara before hefting the little girl onto her shoulder to burp her. "My husband is at work. And both the teens are out, so it's just me, Lyris, and the twins, so we're grateful for the company."
Donny bent down to hide behind the other side of the fan, grinning mischievously as he crept up and popped up over the top suddenly, eyes wide. "Boo!"
"Oh.." Nio murmured softly, suddenly looking very, very nervous. Perhaps it was the fact that Nio was too much of a gentlemen to allow himself inside of a house with a lady if her husband was out for the day. Perhaps it was simply the fact that he hadn't expected to stay.
Or, perhaps, it was something much, much worse.
"Ah.." He was paling to a very unhealthy white color, and took a step back. "I don't.. uh.. think we can stay, actually.." His voice hitched up high pitched, and he cleared it to try and stay calm. "It's not that we don't want to, I'm sure that Donny'd love to, but I've got so much to do in terms of wedding plans.. you got the invitation I hope?"
Donny was thankfully not paying attention to his father at all at the moment. Instead he was fully intent on playing hide and seek with Lyris.
Lyris squealed, laughing brightly as she did the same as he, hiding behind the side of the fan and popping up over, booing at him too before nuzzling noses with him, "You're it!" She exclaimed, taking off into the house.
Kira smiled, "I did," She said, nodding slowly as she grinned at Nio before laughing as she swirled out of the way as Lyris ran past her.
Symara peeked over her mother's shoulder, deep chocolate brown eyes wide as she stared at Nio before squealed and reaching out her chubby infant hands to the new face.
Donny stared at Lyris as she ran off, only to zoom off, trying not to bump into the woman as he tried to catch up. He had never played tag before, but he didn't want Lyris to get away! He briefly slowed as he looked around at the new surroundings, before scampering off to try and catch her again.
"Lyris no leave!"
"Nodonnywait-" But Donny was long gone, and Nio had turned even paler. He took a step forward, and calmed somewhat as the baby reached out for him. He lifted his hand and offered his finger to the child, smiling nervously.
"What a cutie.. a new addition to your family?"
He was trying his very, very hardest to look nonchalant and have pleasant conversation without actually being invited in the house. Oh please, please let this not have been a mistake..
Kira nodded, grinning as Symara gripped Nio's finger, cooing happily, "Mid-March," She said, smiling. "Just a few months old, but extremely active. Her brother's still asleep. He's the quieter one of the two," She said, grinning deeply as she rubbed Symara's back. "Do you want to come in? It seems those two," She said, nodding in the direction that Lyris and Donny had run off in, "aren't going to be ready to leave for a bit... And I don't bite. Promise," She said, winking at Nio.
Lyris giggled, ducking down behind one of the couches, snickering to herself. She was so clever, to start a game of tag and then turn it into hide and go seek. Soooo clever.
Luna mewled as she crept out of Lyris's room, blinking a bit at Donny before purring, bouncing over and rubbing against his leg in greeting.
Things kept distracting him and catching his attention, and soon he'd lost her. "Lyrrrisss.. come out for Donny!" He singsonged, hopping about and looking for her in various places. As he tilted to look under a table, he widened his eyes as he felt Luna nuzzling against his feet, and squealed happily. "Pretty kitty!" He bent down and wrapped his arms around her gently, picking her up. "Pretty kitty Luna tell Donny where Lyris is?"
Her? Bite? It wasn't her he was worried about! He let out a tiny whimper before weighing his options. Tell her no, grab Donny and run.. and possibly ruin any chance of a friendship between the two families? Tell her yes, go inside, and risk exposure? Tell her .. tell her ..
..and then he spotted the cat.
"AH. I would. But you see.. I'm allergic to cats."
Nio took in a deep breath, and gave her an apologetic glance. "I'd start sneezing like crazy.. it wouldn't be pretty."
God, he was brilliant. Brilliant.
"Ah," Kira said, grinning softly. "It's ok. I understand completely. I am, too. Gotta down ten pills a week just to keep them in the house," She said, giggling as Symara flailed her arms, trying to get to Nio.
"Heh, looks like someone likes you," Kira said, laughing. "You wanna hold her?"
Lyris giggled softly, staying behind the couch as she crawled around to try and peek at Donny. She snickered again.
Luna mewled and grinned at Donny, snuggling against his chest as she tail flicked towards the coffee table and couch, purring happily.
Nio wins forever. The end.
"Of course!" He cood, reaching out his arms to take the child. He grinned faintly, curling his arm around her and holding her head gently with his hand.
"She's precious." He breathed out, trying hard not to think about a day when he would be holding his own baby in his arms. There was no sense in assuming things like that might happen.. but it was hard not to feel the urge to want it, when holding something as precious as a new life in his arms.
Donny looked up as he followed the tailflick, and jumped up to flop over the couch, looking over it to see Lyris hidden behind it.
"Lyris silly, why run away from Donny?" He asked curiously. "You don't like Donny no more?"
"Aye, she's a darling," Kira said before perking up at a cry. "Oh, dear... Could you watch her for a bit? I need to go and get Joel. When he screams, it's usually urgent," She said, turning and heading off down the hall towards the nursery.
Lyris looked up at Donny with wide eyes, "Ssshhh, I still like Donny," She said, crawling up over the couch and plopping down next o him, giving him and gentle hug as to not distrub Luna. "I love Donny. He's my bestest friend."
Luna grinned, mewling happily as she purred, nuzzling against Donny. Yup, she knew that was true.
"Of course," Nio murmured, only too happy to do so. He held the child gently, rocking her and muttering little nonsensical phrases of cuteness to try and keep her happy.
Donny was instantly appeased by the hug, and leaned into Lyris' arms, curling his small body up and hugging Luna to him as he snuggled into the hug.
"Really?" He squealed softly, his wings flickering backwards to act as a blanket of sorts, blanketing her as they could. "Then Donny love Lyris too~" He conceded, quite content with the idea. After all, his mom and dad said they loved each other all the time. And they talked a lot. Lyris and Donny talked a lot too! He supposed it all meant the same thing in the end.
Which, of course, meant only one thing.
"Mommy and squishee give out weddings because they love. Lyris and Donny should give out weddings."
Donny was completely misinterpreting what Nio was giving out in those little envelopes..
Symara squealed happily, giggling as she reached up, tugging lightly on his nose with one hand as she balled up and fist and shoved it in her mouth, burbling and dribbling like babies do.
Kira came back, rocking a sniffling Joel with one arm as she rubbed his belly lightly with her freehand, "It must be just gas. I can't find anything else wrong," She said, grinning at Nio.
"Weddings? Kira showed me pictures yesterday and said something about weddings... It's like a big party with lots of food," Lyris said, nodding. "Though, I don't know how that would fit in an envelope..."
"Lots of food?" Donny was perplexed at the idea, but not discouraged. "Donny likes food. Donny likes ice cream most of all. Squishee will give us a wedding with ice cream!" He sat up straight, shifting Luna carefully to be held in one arm before sliding off the couch and taking Lyris' hand in the other.
"Come on Lyris, we ask Squishee to give us a wedding!" He proclaimed, personally finding his plan ingenius. His father gave him everything he wanted, after all.
He dragged Lyris back to the doorway,
Nio grinned at the sight of another baby, personally quite enthralled in seeing them. They were little sweethearts to him. He opened his mouth to mention it, when a little chubby golden hand tugged at his shirt to catch his attention.
Donny held his hand out to his father, palm upward. "Lyris and Donny want a wedding. Squishee give us one?"
It was a good thing Nio had a good hold on the baby.. otherwise he probably would have dropped her in surprise.
Kira giggled softly down at Lyris and Donny, trying to hide her beaming smile slightly as she rocked Joel. She remembered this game. She'd played it when she was little... Course, back then, she didn't really know it was a game. Either way, it was still adorable.
Lyris nodded and grinned, "Kira showed me pictures of a wedding. So pretty and lots of food. But I'm not sure how it fits in an envelope. Donny said that Nio was giving out weddings in envelopes."
Nio hadn't played this game when he was a little anything. In fact, he hadn't had any friends when he was little. He had been born in a test tube and spent all two of his childhood years in slavery. He had no idea what the heck was going on.
"Uh, I think that's maybe not such a good idea just yet." He muttered quickly, looking to Kira for support. Instead, he found a happy little smile. Was she encouraging this debauchery?!
"Why?"
"Because you're too young."
"Why?"
"..Because you haven't grown up yet. When you grow up you get married."
"Why?"
"Because that's how it is in life."
"Why?"
"Because!"
Donny let out a gigglefit at his father's exasperation, and tugged on Lyris' hand. He leaned in and whispered something in her ear.
"Don't worry, squishee will give me one later. He always gives me what I want."
Nio couldn't hear them, but already they were plotting. "Okay.. that's my cue." He picked up the boy, who refused to let go of Lyris' hand, and held him there. "We're going home now Donny."
"Donny stay HERE!"
".. No .. Donny comes home with daddy."
"No Donny stay here with Lyris to make weddings."
"..Donny's definitely coming home with daddy." Nio sighed.
Kira walked over, reaching out and settling a hand on Nio's shoulder lightly, "Calm, dear. This is normal," She said, grinning. "Take a few breathes. It's something little kids do," She said, smiling down at Donny and Lyris before leaning over and whispering. "Besides, I think they think a wedding is actually the invitations you've been handing out."
Lyris was suddenly very scared. Had she done something wrong? Had they done something wrong? "Kira? What's the matter?" She asked, sniffling slightly.
Luna curled against Donny's chest, glaring up at Nio. There was something wrong with this guy.
Kira's words were somewhat calming, if not informative at the very least. He blinked, reaching into his pocket for one of the invitations, and smirked gently.
"Oh. Is that what you want?" He handed it to Donny, letting the boy go. Donny in turn handed it to Lyris proudly.
"See! I told you!" Donny exclaimed triumphantly, before leaning in and attempting to gnaw on the letter. When food didn't come out, he looked up at Nio with a scalding glare.
"Where the food?"
"Food's at home, Donny. Where we should be."
Donny pouted, letting Lyris keep the slightly chewed on wedding, before attaching to his father's leg.
"We really should get going anyhow, but it's really been a pleasure coming to visit. Maybe one of these days you can come to visit all of us?"
Oh, how much safer that would be.. he sighed in relief that the day hadn't gone as badly as it could have. He'd be more than willing to have her and her family over to make up for it.
Lyris grinned, hugging the wedding to her as her eyes lit up, "Visit?" She asked, beaming happily.
Kira grinned broadly, "That sounds like a plan, Nio. We'll be happy to come visit someday," She said, giggling. "Would you mind if I have my baby back?"
"And Luna?" Lyris asked, smiling at Donny as she reached out to him. "Please?"
Donny wasn't too keen on letting Luna go, but he looked at Lyris' outstretched hands, and knew he couldn't say no. He settled the cat down into her hands, before hopping off his fathers leg and leaning in to leave a messy kiss on Lyris' cheek. "Lyris come visit Donny." He murmured quietly with a grin, before hopping up into the air and twirling around his father, landing on his back and gripping on tight.
"Oh, of course!" Nio laughed, slowly handing the baby to Lyris. "Thanks so much for letting us stop by."
Kira grinned, cradling Symara is one arm while she held Joel in the other, "No problem, Nio. Come over any time you want."
Lyris grinned deeply, waving to Donny as she snuggled Luna, "Course I'll come visit," She said, smiling softly, blushing at the kiss.
Donny waved like mad to Lyris as they walked away, shaking Nio a bit as he did so.
"BYE LYRIS DONNY LOVE YOU"
Nio stopped, and turned his head slowly, giving his son a wary eye.
"What?"
...
He sighed and just kept on walking. Something told him it was better not to ask..
Kira closed the door as Lyris waved hyperly with her freehand. Smirking down at Lyris once the door was closed, Kira shifted Symara to her shoulder, "Does Rissa have a boyfriend?" She asked, grinning wryly at her Tale daughter.
The playfulness in her face that was always there when Donny was around disappeared instantly as she looked up at Kira, "He's a boy. And he's my friend. So I suppose so," She said, settling Luna down the the floor before toddling off to her room to play with her CD player again.

Donny is such a sweetheart. I don't know what it is, but there's something about him that makes me extremely happy when I'm around him. He came to visit today, and we played around for awhile, but when I hide from him to play around, he thought it meant that I didn't like him anymore.
Quite the opposite, in fact. He's my best friend, my only friend, really. I love him lots, at least, in the way that love has been explained to me. He said he loves me, too. And that we should get a wedding because we love each other.
Nio was a little upset when Donny told him that. I don't know why. Kira says she'll explain it to me later. But we got a wedding. At least, that's what Donny said it was. I don't really understand how it's a wedding. But maybe I'm just not looking at it the right way.

This house was already full, and Kira and Trollax just insist on filling it up even more. They brought home two more kids yesterday, both boys this time. They seem to be identical twins, Justin and Drako. I heard Trollax and Kira discussing an expansion today, something about buying the apartment and a few more and putting them together. I didn't even know you could do that. But eh, what do I know? I'm still not used to this world... I didn't really have time to get used to my world.

It's almost been a month since my last journal entry, and in that time, little to nothing has happened. Since the wedding, mom hasn't been taking me anywhere. She'd spent her time trying to teach me stuff I already know. It's kinda sad, really. But I really miss everyone... Especially Donnie. I haven't seen Donnie since I lost him during the reception. I miss him tons. I miss everyone tons. I just want to get out of this damn house. Maybe I can convince Akshaya to take me out some time... Maybe...

"Nobody loves me. Everybody hates me. I think I'll go eat worms," Lyris sang as she rocked back in forth in the giant overstuffed chair, watching the construction workers mill about around the apartment. "Nobody loves me. Everybodoy hates me. I think I'll go eat worms..."
"Lyris, sweetheart, don't you have something you could be doing?" Kira asked, walking over and gathering up the popcorn bowl and cup that were sitting by the chair.
"Nope. Never have anything to do anymore..." Lyris said, continuing to rock back and forth. "Nobody loves me. Everybody hates me. I think I'll go eat worms..."
"Color? Listen to music maybe? Trollax got you your own CD player the other day, remember? So you wouldn't have to steal Shay's," Kira said, sighing softly as she dropped the dishes into the sink. She'd have to wait untilt he plumbing was reconnected before she could do anything with them, though.
"I did all that yesterday. I'm boooored. Can't I go outside?" Lyris asked, flopping over the side of the chair and staring down at Luna. Her cat was happily curled up at the side of the chair sleeping.
Kira heaved a sigh, leaning on the counter and shaking her head, "Not right now, Lyris. I'm busy. And I can't leave with all the workers in here."
"Fiiiine..." Lyris sighed, curling up in a ball and mumbling. "Nobody loves me. Everybody hates me..."

"I...well, I suppose it's all right. If he really wants her there that much," Kira said, her frownlines forming deep chasms on her face. "Co-ed sleepovers can be quite a hazard, though. Yes, yes. I know they're too young, but...it's still a concern. No, she can still come. I'm just worried, is all," Kira sighed, being silent a few minutes before nodding. "I'm sure you do. Good-bye."
The phone gave a soft click as it was placed back down. Kira sighed, turning and moving from the kitchen to the living room.
Lyris was settled in one of the large overstuffed chairs in the room, Luna curled up in her lap. Both of them were just idly watching the workman milling around them.
"Rissa...how would you feel about attending a sleepover?" Kira asked as she knelt down next to the armchair.
"Does it mean I get out of the house?" Lyris turned, looking hopeful.
"That is does. Donny's parents just called..."
"DONNY?!" Lyris squealed with delight, clapping her hands together. "I get to see Donny?!"
Kira smiled and nodded, "Yes, dear. You get to see Donny. We'll just have to go and get you proper stuff to take with you. A sleeping bag, a travel kit..."
Lyris, however, wasn't paying any mind to the list Kira was running off. She was too excited. Out of the house and seeing Donny at the same time. Could it get any better?

I haven't written in a long time because I've been busy with schooling. Mom didn't think that it was a good idea for me to actually go to school, so she enrolled me with the school board to do home schooling. I got through the first few grades with almost ridiculous ease. But after I got to around 5th or 6th level schooling, it started to get a tad more difficult. Especially that math stuff. I've never done that before.
But yeah, I've basically been working on all of that. Not much time to record my thoughts anymore. Akshaya's taken me out a few times, but I haven't really seen anyone since the sleepover. The twins moved out not long after the extension was finished. And Andie got her own place. So I'm even more lonely now. Oh, well. Hopefully I'll find some time for everyone eventually.

Kira did something really weird today. If Akshaya hadn't taken the time to explain earlier in the day, I probably would have been extremely freaked out. Kira dressed me up in this little white dress and tucked a circle of yellow pipecleaners in my hair around 8 pm at night. Akshaya told me that today was something called 'Halloween' where little kids dressed up and then went out to get candy from their neighbors.
Kira took me and the twins around the apartment building to see our neighbors. They fussed over what a 'pretty little angel' I made, and I was kind enough to resist socking them in the mouth when they pinched my cheeks. At least I got a pretty good haul. Though, I think all of the sugar would put me into a diabetic coma if I tried to eat it all at once. So I'm probably going to be nursing until... What's the next weird day Askhaya explained to me? Thanksgiving.

Kira said that she might start making arrangements for me to go and see other Tales again. She probably noticed how I've been pacing back and forth in the house lately. I've felt like a caged animal for the last few months with just a few little toys to keep me occupied.
Not that they're bad toys at all. Akshaya provides a limited distraction. The CD player and Trollax's expansive music collection even more so. Luna has been as affectionate and protective as ever. There are times I wish she could talk. I'm starving for conversation around here, intelligent or otherwise. Maybe I'll write everyone a note. Or at least, a few people. Just to make sure they haven't forgotten me.

So much for making arrangements. I'm still sitting here just as alone as I was a month ago. Oh, well... Kira's birthday is coming up, so maybe we'll all go out. Or a party. A party would be a lot of fun. Listen to me, I must really be desperate if I'm willing to arrange a party.
At the very least, I'm going to write Donny. Once I got my hands on some paper and something little more dignified than a crayon. Maybe I can knick a pen out of Akshaya's room. Either way, I'm going to write him a note. Some way.

Well, Kira's birthday went all right. But I still haven't gotten out of the house much. Akshaya took me to the park, but she's planning on moving out soon so I'll be all alone with just the toddler twins to keep me company. Wonderful, no?
Oh, well. I'm getting used to it, at least. Luna has been more than a comfort to me lately. She doesn't even leave my side anymore unless she needs to eat or something else that requires her attention right away. I've been listening to music more and more, just to zone out and be in some other place.
