Title Playdate! Hide and Seek with Jiro
Teivel, a tall, lean reindeer tahnee, had been suckered into going to the Shop with Vidya today, for the first time. Enoh had wanted to go to the shop, but unfortunately the Headquarters wouldn't let her...mainly because she's had to cancel her last few training sessions with the new employees. So, she did the next best thing...she harassed the Stag to go just as Vidya had harassed her to get permission to go.
Unfortunately for Teivel, Enoh had thought of everything. When he said he didn't know how to get there, she gave him a map. When he said he didn't have money for the bus faire, she gave him more than enough. When he said he didn't want to, she told him too bad.
So there he was, his golden eyes glazed over with objection as he stood infront of the shop, the blue-skinned tale tugging on his hand in an attempt to force him inside.
"Aww, c'mon Teeeeeiiii...Les go iiiinnn..."
Groaning his objection this time, the silver-haired boy pushed open the doors and stepped in, followed by the cheering Vidya. She was pleased with this accomplishment...Teivel never went everywhere, and his pale skin showed it.
"There, happy now? Good. Go Play."
Flopping down into one of the chairs, Teivel waved his hand towards Vidya, who dropped her sidebag at his feet and wandered around the store, dragging the currently plush Kalani behind her, since she knew well enough to not bother him too much.
"What makes you think I want to go here?" Jiro was not a happy Tale as he was practically being dragged to the shop by Riktor, aka Rikku, Akiya's grandson. Though the two did get along, Rikku was not happy really either. It would have been different if he could have brought Alli, his twin along with him. Yet no, he had to handle it alone. Akiya would have easily done it himself, but Sah had asked his help in setting up something for the UTP. ((UTP is the Uke Tea Party.. such a long little history about them.. no time no time)) So Rikku had been asked, cause his father, Kyoi, was too busy cleaning house. Kali and Mouu were busy learning some spells to teach someone and Rikku just happened to be in the area. But Jiro was not a happy puppy. Especially after what happened with Angelus and the few other Tales, Jiro's been very adamant about never wanting to meet another Tale in his life. "Can we just go home now?"
"Otaba(Grandfather) says you need to be here. He asked this as a personal favor." The teen scooped Jiro up easily to stop his dragging of heels. It was annoying and if one more person stared at him like he was some abusive parent, he would going to scream. "Are you really gonna say no to Otaba?"
"..... no..." Sighing, Jiro stopped fighting and settled down. "Maybe no one'll be here..."
"Never know." Pushing open the door, he set the small dooll-like Tale onto the ground as he looked over for a place to sit. "Neh, did Otaba leave his box? I think your plushie dragons are in there..." Since Akiya seemed to be rather forgetful of late, he found the right box and pulled out a black dragon that looked kinda glowy. "Here." Jiro took it with a bow of thanks before he settled down to cuddle it. He had noticed the blue female though and was studying her carefully.
Teivel leaned his head to look over at the doorway, eyeing the two that came in. They didn't seem happy about coming here either, especially the boy whose wings...well, at least one of them, looked a lot like Vidya's. Oh well. The stag merely nodded in greeting, his fingers tapping the arms of his chair.
Vidya on the other hand turned fully to watch as the door opened, her white eyes staring rather blankly at the pair. As was her custom, she was figuring out what she liked about the others, so she could tell them when she finally moved over to say hello. As those white eyes dragged over the boy's headwings, her free hand came up to absently touch her own. Vidya closed one of her eyes - her right one, the only one with a pupil, but she still appeared to be looking at him. Whether or not she could see from that eye was still up in the air, mainly because there were clues leaning both ways.
Her expression brightened though as she came to a conclusion, the tale moving over towards the seated male, still dragging her own dragon plush behind her. She was being like this to the plush on purpose...mainly because she was angry with it at the moment. When she reached him, she held out her hand like she'd seen so many adults do.
"Hiya! M'Viddy...N'me likes your wings. N'your eyes...very pretty. Oh! And you have a 'ragon too! Viddy's is mean."
She nodded sagely before wrinkling up her nose, shooting a glare at the plush she was dragging.
Dragonfly amiably made her way once more to the Stationary Store, having only been there for a very short time the last time, before having to make an escape back to Cetalu. Now she was back in Barton, and felt the need to check in with the seemingly grubby little shop.
She pushed open the door, and gazed around the only vaguley famliar interior. Her eyes were immediatly caught by the familiar glowing face of Vidya, and she waved eagerly, before noticing that there were others too here.
Well, at least she wouldn't look stupid, and be all alone sitting in the shop.
When she came over to him, his eyes narrowed faintly. Well she had wings like he did, that was nice. Her eyes were interesting, for a girl.. and she was very blue. Heh blue was his father's favorite color. Looking at her extended hand, he blinked before he took her hand and shook it briefly. "Jiro. Yoroshiku..... your dragon looks nice, but mine's just a plush... why are you mad at your dragon?"
Nodding towards the Tahnee, he yawned faintly as he sat down and stretched. Well least Jiro wasn't just rude straight out all the time. Maybe this would go well... like pigs would fly. But they would just have to wait and see, he supposed. He just hoped nothing bad would happen.
"Jiro. Okay, Nice'ta'mettcha, Jiro!"
Vidya had nodded to herself when she first pronounced his name on her own, and then returned to her happy expression, retracting her hand once she had shaken his own. Her head turned a bit when she heard the door open...and if were at all possible, her expression brightened. She waved her free hand in the air.
"Oooh...! DEE! Hullo! Vinny's'not here."
She felt like she had to let Dragonfly know that the Gunman wasn't with her today. Well, she had met Dragonfly while Vincent took her to the park, right? So it made sense that they were friends, and maybe Dee was looking for him. Smiling still, she turned her attention back to Jiro.
Vidya's smile faded at the mention of her dragon, glancing at it before looking back up at Jiro, holding Kalani up in the air by its tail incase the boy wanted a good look at it.
"He 'tends to play a plushie...But Viddy knows hes 'live! No one believes Kali's 'live, and Kali plays jokes on me...!"
Her white eyes narrowed, dropping Kalani back to the ground. The sky dragon's plush eyes seemed to glimmer with a mixture of amusement and disappointment at Vidya's words and actions. Briefly, she wondered if Jiro would trade dragons. Having just a plush would be so much nicer...
"But no talking of stupid 'ragon. How are'yah?
Again, a slurred mimick of something she'd heard the adults say.
"..." He was looking at the dragon and he smirked faintly at the glimmer he saw. "Aww I think you hurt his feelings a bit.. well there's a bunch of dragons in that box over there.. *He nudged his head towards the box that Rikku was sitting by. "You can pick one or something if you don't want that one anyway..." To him, it didn't matter. Dragon plushs were just that. Plushs. Toys. Whatever, it didn't matter much to him. "I suppose I'm doing well enough... And you?" A light shrug was given, though his eyes hardened. He was still miffed about having to save Angelus and the whole stupid ordeal surrounding him.
However, he was behaving, right? ah yes, behaving... how droll and boring. Hearing the sounds of the door opening, he looked over at the girl who had next walked in. Gah! More girls! A brow twitched faintly before he smoothed his expression. They popped out of the ground like daisies or something. Covering his yawn with the extra fabric of his kimono, cause it wasn't a yukata by any means though he did have those at home as well, he rubbed at his eyes lightly. Was he the only Tale that had no issues speaking? Or was he a bit warped or something? Not that he minded talking as he did, but the other tales sounded like they were still learning. This baffled him in more ways than one. But he kept it to himself.
"So... what do you do for fun around here?"
Dragonfly giggled softly, and waved to the small child, before making her way over to the chair that she had sat in the last time she had visited the store. She blinked at Vidya's mention of Vincent, and laughed softly.
"M'not looking for Vinny today Viddy," she grinned as she plopped her butt down, "Came t'visit the shop. It's very good to see you though Vidya!"
She grinned, before relaxing back in her chair.
"Oh, okay Dee! Godd ta'see you too!"
Another scoff came from Vidya.
"Good. He started it."
Her white eyes then went towards the box, eyeing it. The thought was rather tempting, but still...she figured she'd have to turn him down. Vidya shook her head.
"No, s'okay. You can keep tha 'ragons."
Rocking back and forth very slightly from her heels to the balls of her feet, Vidya considered his response to her question, tapping one of her blue fingers against her lips.
"M'okay...Makin' new friends's'fun!"
She wouldn't actually say it, but her eyes slightly gave it away; a sort of embarassment about herself; her speech. It hadn't bothered her before now, and it was probably because Jiro looked the same age that she did, and yet he could speak like an adult; something she was unable to do. But she wasn't going to let that affect her, not at all! Shaking her head a bit, Vidya forced away those feelings of embarassment, throwing her arms out to the sides.
"We play fer fun! What games d'you like?"
Teivel focused his golden eyes on Dragonfly.
"He went with Enoh back to Headquarters, if you do decide to look for him."
When she said no, he nodded, not about to push or anything like that. Least he had extended the invitation... perhaps Shouhin would be proud of him for that. Making.. friends? They were suddenly friends? Pfft, she was a simple one. But she was acting a bit oddly, making his head tilt to the side. Something was bugging her, but he took a bit to think it out. It couldn't be able her speech.. was it? Shouhin had said that he really shouldn't be able to talk this well.. so he was weird in that regard.
But he didn't say anything that would embarass her further. Instead, he tilted his head to the side. "I've never played any games... so could you teach me one?"
Hell, even he knew that he wasn't going to learn on his own. He would need someone who could play games to teach him. And the games Rikku and Alli knew involved magic.. which he didn't know yet.
Vidya had this thing about her; she considered everyone her friend, and she considered everyone trustworthy until they proved her otherwise. Thats just the way she was, and it did make her seem very strange to the more serious people, but that was one thing that certainly never bothered her.
She gave him a look of disbelief.
"Never played? Wow! Okay...hm."
Vidya's look of disbelief faded, replaced by a look of curiousity as she thought about what kind of game Jiro would like to play, if any at all. The Tale played with her long hair as she thought, eventually narrowing it down to two games.
"Uhm...? Tag? Okay uh...pre-tend Viddy's 'it', m'kay? So Viddy'd tag you like...dis, n'then you be 'it'...so Viddy'd run to no get tag'd! Like...runnin' game."
Of course, she demonstrated this. At the mention of getting tagged, she reached over and poked his shoulder, not really thinking that he might not like to get touched. She then went silent for a moment, figuring out how to explain her next game.
"Ooor...Hide'n'Seek! One hides n'one finds! N'then tha find-der is the hide-der n' tha game goes on!"
She then placed her hands on her hips, looking around the room. Well, there WAS one more thing they could do! Smiling brightly still, she focused her white eyes back on him.
"Or we could go s'plorin'! S'fun too."
Well, thanks to his fmily, he didn't mind being touched all that much. So all he did wsa stare at her when she poked his shoulder and explained these games to him. Hide and Seek sounded like an okay game, cause gods knew, in this place, there were tons of hiding places. Tag seemed okay. Running around chasing after someone.. heh that might not be a bad idea. But he frowned darkly at the mention of exploring. "No exploring." Wasn't that what those others had done? And he had said no thanks cause he hdn't been up to it? Oooh yes, the first time that pompous Tale angelus had to open his fat mouth. His brow twitched as he forced his irritated away and focused on Vidya. Stop thinking about or else you might do something to scare her. Heh.. that would just be bad on all counts.
"Let's try this Hide and Seek game... since I'm new, I'll be the Seeker.. type person.."
"No s'plorin? Okay!"
Vidya waited patiently for which of the remaining two games he'd like to play, her white eyes widening with amusement as she watched him. It occured to her that he was thinking, but in the process, he was making some very interesting faces! She briefly wondered if he knew he was doing it, but before she opened her mouth to ask, he had chosen a game.
Her earlier wonderings were pushed aside, and the child merely clapped her hands together once, that gleeful smile still on her lips.
"Hide'n'Seek! Okay! Uhm...Okay, you be tha Seeker...so you go coun'ta ten, okay? But no peeking! Viddy'll go hide."
Looking around, Vidya dropped Kalani at the unimpressed Teivel's feet and flittered off towards the other corner of the store, looking for a place to hide. Before she settled into any set place, she called over her shoulder.
"Oh yeah! No Magic'er anythin'! Tha's cheetin."
A brow shifted at the last part. No magic? That shouldn't be hard. Nodding, he coverd his eyes with his glove covered hands and slowly began to count. It was only to ten right? How much was ten again... ah right his fingers...
Humming to himself as he counted, he said ten really loud so that she would know he was done. It wasn't like he knew there was something else along those lines. Getting up, he looked around. Hmm now where could she go? Scratching his cheek a bit, he went on the hunt. Was using his nose against the rules?
After making sure Jiro wasn't watching her, Vidya had silently scampered into the study...well, it let her open the door, so why not, right? Looking around for a place to hide, she eventually spotted an open cabinet on the right side of the doorway.
Giggling, she scampered inside and somewhat slid the door closed...just leaving enough of it open for her to breathe. She had barely heard him call out "ten", but she did recognize his voice. Vidya smiled to herself, stifling any giggles as she pulled her knees up to her chest, and wrapped her arms around her knees.
So basically, all she had to do was wait, right?

Title Playdate! Hide and Seek with Jiro
He searched everywhere in that place, his little wings flapping furiously as he checked over a few places. But they weren't terribly strong right then so he landed after a little bit. Well.. she didn't seem to be anywhere in the main part of the shop.. and he would have heard her if she tried to scuttle about cuse there were too many things to trip over...
His eyes narrowed thoughtfully when it came to the door of the Study. Oh.. he knew this place... going over to it, he worked on getting the door open and slipped inside it. This was where he had come from.. where the Tome had been. Where Shouhin came to collect him. Before he met the other Tales.. where it was safer... As he walked more into the room, a slight scent caught his nose. Scents of other Tales, unlike other smells of like food or otherwise, was more an emotion linked thing. They smelled like.. passion or courage or idioticy.. something like that. He was smelling an adventurous spirit.
Smirking faintly, he pretended to be rummaging around but all the while getting closer to the cabinet.. but then he passed right over it, making her think he hadn't noticed her.
Vidya waited patiently in the cabinet, eyeing the darkness that was all around her, and then eventually peering from the small crack in the door that she had left open...only to see the print of Jiro's kimono move past. Her white eyes widening, she clasped her hands over her mouth to keep herself from making any noise...though the desire to giggle was just about killing her.
The suspense was killing her, and eventually the desire to leap out and tackle Jiro, even though she was supposed to be hiding, got much too powerful. Taking in a deep breath, Vidya lowered her hands from her mouth to reach over and grasp the door, about to throw it open and call out...
"H--...!!"
When she felt something cold touch her leg...no, she felt something pass right through her leg. Her happy call to Jiro, one that had been on the tip of her tongue, turned into a frightened cry, the hands on the handle of the cabinet threw the door open roughly as she literally fell out of her hiding place, recovering just enough to scramble over to Jiro and hide behind him, her small blue hands grasping some of the fabric on the back of his kimono, trembling and whimpering at the same time.
The study itself had an air of pleasure to it now, as if it was pleased with itself on this little prank..
Since he had been just about to jump back and get her, he was rather close to the door, so when she suddenly burst out, the door slammed smack into his nose. Bursts of pain filled his head and he bit his tongue from cursing in the Denmonga language he learned back at him. Oooh, hooooly hell, that hurt!! Now, typically, he would have turned on her and yelled.. but he saw that she was shaking and looking rather afraid...
Now, let's make something very... very clear. Jiro, at heart, does not care. Not int he elast. Why? That's still unknown. However.. his angelic wing twitched a bit and he sighed faintly to himself and he reached back and pat her on top of her head. When he muttered, his accent got thicker, so one had to really pay attention. "There's nothing there... it's just the Study deciding to play a joke on you.." He turned carefully and took her into his arms, stroking her hair gently. This was something Sah did all the time for him back at home and it made him feel better. "Saihou marishu(Plesae calm yourself)... there's nothing to fear.. I'll protect you..."
Vidya didn't really notice that she had hit Jiro with the door...and if she had, she could have been apologising to him from now until he forgave her.
Instead, the tale gave a distressed whine, followed closely by a sniffle, a small threat of tears...it seemed that today, everybody wanted to play a joke on her. First Kalani, and then it was Kalani and Ren all day, and now the study. There was only so much joking someone could take! She was thankful to have someone to cling to right now, though...that made it a little bit better.
Her wings lowered as he wrapped his arms around her. That was an odd occurance on its own, as it involved a great deal of work to lower those feathered extensions...but it happened. Vidya took a few deep breathes, nuzzling her face into the soft fabric of his kimono as she did try to calm herself down. Sighing finally, Vidya slowly lifted her head, eyeing the cabinet, and then dragging her gaze to Jiro; lifting one of her blue hands to rub her eyes.
"Okay...Promise?"
He could protect her from jokes and spooks? Oh, how perfect of a thought that was.
Oh, his nose hurt like nothing else and though tears came to hi eyes, he blinked them back and dealt with it. It wasn't like she had been purposely aiming for his face, or else there definately would have been a problem, but she had been spooked. But he was wondering why he was still holding her. something was wrong with him, oh yes! There were definate issues with the pulses inside of his head. Ah well, too late now.
Looking down at her as she whimpered and clung, his mind muttered something long of lines of she'd better no get anything gross on my kimono when she was looking up at him again. She had some damn big eyes.. what was with girls and these huge puppy like eyes. Were they sick or something? Finally, he nodded. "Un. Yakusoku... Nothing'll bug ya if I'm around, okay?" Well, at least this one didn't think she was big, bad and as tough as nails. In his mind, if you're gonna act that way, prove it. But Aido hadn't proved it all that well so.. feh on her. "But keep it a secret, okay? Like a secret pack. Don't want everything to think I'll just help anybody out, neh?" His smile was faint but it was there.
"You okay now?"
Vidya gave him a curious look as he spoke something she had never heard before; Yakusoku. The tale briefly considered asking him about it, but she didn't want to say anything until she had an answer.
When he finally did, Vidya closed her eyes in glee, tilting her head the slightest bit as a happy smile formed on her lips. She gave him a hug.
"Okay! Thank-yah, Jiro! Oh. Okay, Viddy keep is seecret."
Letting him go, she pressed her finger to her lips to make the universal sign for silence, uttering a small giggle. The world was right again for Vidya, thanks to Jiro. The tale nodded.
"N'Yes! I'm okay now..."
She trailed off, staring at him suddenly...more specifically at his nose. She hadn't noticed it before, but now that she was feeling better, she did infact notice.
"Ar'you okay, though? Nose s'all red..."
It didn't occur to him that she might not know that yakusoku meant 'promise' in Japanese, so he didn't supply an answer. Nor would he, unless she asked him the question. Smirking faintly, he pressed his finger against his lips before he blinked and then smirked. "You shoved the cabinet door open so fast.. I was right behind it so I had no time to move.. though it's not your fault.."
He waved a hand quickly, in case he would feel guilty or some such nonsense. It was fine. It would be annoying til he could get home and then Shouhin could heal it. "It's okay though. I'll survive..." Actually the sting had already gone away, so it didn't really hurt. But he would give her props. She could pack a walloped if she was frightened.
Vidya's giggle turned into an almost horrified look. She had hurt him?! That wasn't right...! He promised to protect her from mean jokes, and she had to go and hurt him! The blue girl briefly wailed, before throwing her arms around him in another hug.
"Oh...! Viddy's SO SORRY....n'not mean to...!"
He had said it was okay, but girls were prone to apologize accessively (and its been proven, too!)...so needless to say she felt obligated to apologize to him. Too bad she didn't have a bandaid with her today.
However, she knew well enough to get off of that subject, so she moved back to something she had been wondering earlier. She let go of him again, looking directly at him once more, her white eyes filled with pure curiousity.
"Uhm...okay...Jiro? What's...'Yakusoku' mean?"
Well.. it seemed that telling her he ws fine and to not worry about it just flew right over her head and he suffered through her profuse apologies and hug with a faint murmur and nothing more than that. Girls were weird and damn clingy. Just like Sah.. but Sah was a guy... just really motherly. He loved Sah.. anyway. So off topic.
When she finally got off him, he took a few moments to straighten his kimono. Call him nuts, but he liked to be neat.. he still didn't get why, cause getting dirty was just as fun.. just not in these clothes. He just couldn't do it. "Yakusoku means promise in Japanese. So when you asked me to promise, I said I did.. Yakusoku..I read it in one of Shouhin's books..."
"Yakusoku. Okay."
Vidya repeated this to herself, looking as if she was going to try her hardest to remember that word. Wow, she learned a lot of new things with Jiro around! She tapped her fingertips against her lips...of course, the game of hide and seek was forgotten for now.
"D'you know any other words like that?"
She gave him a curious look. It was a very interesting language so far, and 'Yakusoku' was so much fun to say! If that one word was like that, the rest of it must be fun as well! And if anyone could teach her a few new words, it was Jiro.
"Un.. I know a lot of words in that language.. maybe you can come over to my house sometime and I can teach you some. But I can teach you some basics. Hai means yes.. and yes, it sounds like 'hi', so it might be confusing for a bit. Kon-ni-chi-wa means hello. Say-o-nala(he wanted me to spell it as he says it.. hence the l) means goodbye.. you try it."
If it was teaching something, he really didn't mind. since he had Kyoi, Mouu and Kali teaching him everything they knew, he felt it couldn't really hurt to pass on the knowledge. Though, he doubted she ws anywhere close to learning any of the ten homeground languages...
Vidya sat down, looking up at Jiro and listening to his every word. This language sounded so pretty, but it was so strange, too! "Hai" meant "Yes", but not "Hi" like everyone else says it. She wrinkled up her nose, but she basically got it. She never said "Hi" as in hello anyway. She always said "Hiya!" or something else along those lines. So really, it wouldn't be too confusing to her.
Of course, she'd have to remember that somebody saying "Hi" probably won't be saying "Yes" in greeting.
It was her turn now, so she lifted her white gaze to stare at the ceiling, tapping her index finger in the air as she recited the words syllable by syllable, and explained them just as they were introduced to her.
"Uhm...Hai...Hai means yes, but not hello hi...n'... Kon-ni-chi-wa means hello in Jap'nese...n' then Say-o-nala's bye."
Vidya dragged her white eyes down from the ceiling and back towards Jiro once more.
"S'at good?"
He let her pronounce it the way she felt she needed to in order to understand it. And when she repeated it back to him, he nodded after a bit. Since she was a beginner there were a few mistakes, but hell, it was something that could definately be worked on. "Very good. You almost said it perfectly! Not many beginners are like that.. I read that. They usually trip over syllables or something..."
"Next time we meet up, I'll try to see if I can get shouhin to bring along some of my primers... they can help out more than simple reciting back and forth..."
Vidya was silent, until Jiro had finished passing the sentence on her pronounciation. The girl's face lit up happily at his answer; she had said it right! Well...almost. But that was a HUGE step in the right direction, yes?
Climbing back onto her feet, Vidya leaned over and gave him another hug. Oh, she was so happy that he decided to teach her Japanese! Well, some of it...but still! The girl's lips were drawn into a wide happy grin, her eyes closed as she hugged him.
"Oh, Viddy'd like that lots! Thanks, Jiro!"
She coo'ed happily, before eventually letting him go. The Blue tale just stopped then, staring at Jiro, and then at the study around them. Why were they here, again? Oh yeah...she glared over at the cabinet, grimancing (another rare occurance!) before looking back up at the slightly taller Jiro.
"Oh yeah...! We're playin' Hide'n'Seek, yes? Yes. Okay. You found Viddy! If you wanna keep playin', we can!"
"Uh.. itashi mashite... means you're welcome..." His brow was shifted. Why was she thanking him so much? it wasn't like he had done something huge, like save her life. But, she seemed really happy about it all. And.. very clingy... that made him blink but he hugged her back, patting her gently. "It's really no problem..."
When she just stared at him, he stared back, his bi-colored eyes unwavering before she looked at the cabinet and mentioned continuing. It mad him rub his nose a bit in rememberence. Gods, she really could pck a whallop. "Still play? Sure. Shouhin hasnt summoned me yet.." He looked down at the locket just showing through the vee of his kimono. "So I have more time to play.."

Title Playdate! Hide and Seek with Jiro
Vidya repeated "Itashi Mashite" to herself, under her breath. She seemed to like learning other languages just as much as she liked to collect things from various places...that made sense though, seeing as her question dealt with vacations.
"Okay! We play, then! Hm. Okay...You found Viddy, so s'your turn ta hide!"
She clapped her hands together once, remembering the way the game is played. She then looked around, and pointed towards the still-open door to the study.
"Viddy'll go find place to count now...Bye bye!"
The tale flashed her friend a smile before wandering out of the study, a rather heavy sigh of relief escaping her. She felt like a weight had been lifted, now that she was out of the place of her origin. Vidya skipped right up to Teivel, resting her head against his knees as she counted her fingers to get to ten...though a little slowly, as she needed help remembering the names of some numbers.
His turn to hide? Hmph, well then.. he had to make sure it was a good hiding spot. But not int he Study, cause he didn't want her to be frightened again by it being a smart aleck again. Stupid Study...
A faint smirk crossed his lips at how she repeated the words he told her over and over. Was she really that curious about learning new languages as he was? If so, that earned the blue girl a bit more respect from the stoic Tale. However, he stopped his train of thoughts as he looked for a good place to hide. His eyes shifted from side to side, finding suitable places but dismissing them shortly after. No.. no... even more no.. Ah! Here we go..
Though he didn't like to be this dirty, hiding under one of the low seated chairs in the main room sounded good. And it was the best place. One, it had a lot of room to hide in. Two, he could still see her without being easily revealed himself. And three? Heh there was no three. So he watched her count.. and waited to see how sharp her senses were.
Vidya stared at her hands, trying to remember what came after eight; Oh yes, that was nine! Giggling as she got it down, she had no trouble remembering that ten came shortly after...and of course, ten meant she could seek!
"Ready'r'not, here I come!"
She lifted her head, flashing an extemely happy smile up towards her stoic tahnee of an older brother, she spun around she surveyed the room. Somehow, Vidya doubted Jiro was in the study, and even if he was in there, she wouldn't have checked it until the very last...and even then she'd stand at the door and yell into the room. No way she was going back in there...
After a little while, Vidya started moving, though her attention was caught for a little bit by something unknown, and while she was looking directly at the chair Jiro was under, she seemed to ignore it and continue on. She checked the cabinets (remembering her previous treasure hunt in these!), and then stepped back to look up at the higher shelves. After a while of not finding him, she sighed and moved back towards the furnature, that being the only real place she had left to check. Flopping herself down onto all fours, she checked underneith everything, and re-stumbled upon Jiro.
"Jiro! Found yoou...! Nyah."
She grinned at him, reaching out to poke his forehead. She had, by this time, flopped completely onto her belly and was just...staying there.
"Heh... so you did..." His eyes were dark with some sort of emotion before he snickered. "Ya know, I knew you were in the cabinet but then you bashed me in the nose.. so I guess that doesn't count, hmm?" Both of his eyes were red and there was..something very off about him and he shifted so he was closer to her, peering at her. "Aahh.. kawaii neh.." His fingers reached out and touched a blue cheek, amused by the poke. "You're good at this game, Viddy..."
Once they were face to face, he pressed a small kiss to her cheek. "We should play again real soon.. but I need to get home now. Shouhin worries if I'm late.." After he moved her out of the way, he crawled out and dusted himself back off. When he looked at her again, his eyes were bi-colored again and he seemed back to normal. "Next time, I'll bring you some of my books.. I can start teaching you japanese.. that sound good?"
"Nuh huh...still counts."
Vidya insisted this...mainly because while it was she that had forced her way out of the cabinet, he was still there, and technically he'd done the same as her poke when he hugged her; that could technically be called 'tagging', right? This was something she'd have to ask Mieke about later.
However, as she rested on her stomach infront of him, she started to feel...strange. Wrinkling up her small blue nose a bit, Vidya squirmed softly as if very uncomfortable...and she found herself staring at his red eyes. Red eyes? This confused her...didn't he have one orange one only minutes ago? She found herself closing her right eye, the only eye she possessed with mortal sight, and "focused" on him with her pupiless, and mortally sightless left eye. Vidya couldn't explain why she did it, something just told her to do it.
What she saw, if only for a few seconds, scared her. Vidya had never been able to "see" anything out of that eye since she'd been born, and now, as she stared at the red-eyed Jiro, she thought she saw strange tendrils curling and dancing around his form. One blink however, and those tendrils disappeared, leaving Vidya blind once more, forcing her to open her right eye. She had no time to shake her head however, as Vidya found herself directly face to face with him, followed shortly by the kiss to her cheek. She didn't respond, she didn't move...the sudden change in her friend, mixed with those strange entities around him, frightened her so terribly that she didn't want to move. He had to move her, and that he did.
Any fear she might have had vanished instantly though, as she saw him turn and look at her, his orange eye back once more. This was the Jiro she knew, and this was the Jiro she already trusted. The other one was gone now; and along with him went her panic. A bright smile lit her lips again, jumping to her feet and waving.
"Okay! Viddy'd like that lots! THANK YOU!"
She would have hugged him but...chances are he wouldn't like that one too much.
A faint smirk showed on his face, his gold eyes glowing faintly before he tilted his head at her. "There's no one around.. if you wanna gimme a hug, Viddy, you can.. it's fine.. as long as it's not in front of other Tales.." He would let her hug him and then he would go home. He had no recollection of changing in any sort of way, so he just blinked at her curiously. "Least we had fun today hmm?"
He could already hear Sah calling for him in his mind. It was definately time to go back home.
Vidya leaned her head to the side. Had she imagined the change in personality? It was very possible! Or maybe Kalani was playing mind tricks again. That was just as possible.
In anycase, she brightened as he gave her permission. Shuffling forwards, she threw her arms around him in a big hug.
"N'yes, Lots of fun! We gotsa do it 'gain, okay?"
She let go of him, since he had to leave.

Dragonfly had taken Lance home for awhile, and as clingy as the boy had been earlier that day, it didn't last. He rummaged through Dragonfly's house, sword forward, saying nothing for the time being, and just getting acustomed to his new home. He was an adventuror, even Dragonfly could see that. She had watched him carefully, taking in all of the small boy's actions, before deciding to take him back to the Stationary store, and see how he interacted with other Tale's.
Lance's hand clutched Dragonfly's as he padded down the street next to Dragonfly. His red eyes took everything around him in, and a smile curled upon his lips. He slipped his hand away from Dragonfly's, and dashed forward, his tail swishing behind him. He knew where they were going, and he would lead the way.
He swung the door to the Stationary store open, sword raised before him, his red eyes gazing around the room, before he strutted into the room, and turned to await Dragonfly.
Dragonfly's eyes widenned in surprise as the boy dashed off, and she followed close in step after him, not wanting the boy to get hurt, or lost. He had only arrived in the world a short while ago, and she was shocked at his tendancies already. Inle and Tybalt had been alone in the shop for quite some time, the former sitting in the chair she had claimed as her own reading a book while the latter was literally trying to climb the walls in an effort to reach the large, shiny pens that sat atop a high shelf. Tybalt had succeeded only in placing small holes in the wall as he attempted to use his claws to climb upwards, but to no avail; he wound up falling on his feathered behind every time. Inle had long since given up trying to get him to stop for fear that Huni would be upset at the holes, but Tybalt had long since stopped listening to anything Inle was saying.
The pirate's attention was diverted, however, as the door to the shop opened and people came in. He paused in his upward ascent to and immediately scowled at the sight of the draconic boy's wooden sword. He didn't have a sword, not even a wooden one, and the knowledge that other people did upset him to no end. His sapphire eyes remained narrowed as he visually assessed this sword-haver.
Inle glanced at the new arrivals, nodding a tacit hello to them both before returning to her book; while the sight of a dragon boy wielding a wooden sword might have been disturbing to some people, Inle had long grown accustomed to such odd sights. Lance tilted his head as he gazed around at the curious new people. The parrot boy caught his attention the most, and his tail twisted a bit behind him.
"Hello," he said politely, dropping his sword, and bowing to both, "My name is Lance,"
Where Lance had learned to speak so fluently was beyond Dragonfly, and yet she could still hear the soft craw of his dragonic side in his almost raspy voice.
She looked over to Inle, and then to Tybalt, before looking back to Inle and smiling a bit.
"Hello Inle," she greeted, knowing the other woman from the island of Cetalu, and though they had only met breifly, she still remembered the other, "How are you?"
Vidya glared at the doorway to the study as she passed it, still a little weary of the place after it had scared her a few days ago, when she was playing Hide and Seek with Jiro. She was headed over towards one of the far shelves, partly because she had seen some stationary that was rather shiney, but mainly because she had spotted Tybalt there when she had entered the shop with Teivel. Giggling, the girl waved happily at her captain.
"Hey-lo Cap'n! Whattcha doin'?"
Her wings twitched a bit as the door opened, the blue girl turning around in an attempt to see the door...only to have a stupid table block her view. Peering around it, Vidya blinked curiously at the boy who entered, as well as the lady who came in behind him. Her face brightened, running over to the door, practically tackling Dragonfly's legs in greeting.
"Dee! Hullo! Oooh...Pretty."
Still clutching Dragonfly's leg, Vidya finally focused her full attention on the boy who looked like one of those big fire-breathing creatures she'd read about. Studying him as was her custom, she smiled brightly once she had reached her conclusion.
"Hullo! M'Viddy...an'yer green...pretty green! And wings...Viddy has wings too!"
She removed one of her hands from Dragonfly's leg to point to the wings on her head.
Inle's eyes moved once more from her book as she regarded the woman who addressed her with a questioning gaze. Crap, was she supposed to know this woman? She wasn't old enough to start losing her memory...or was she? "Uh...hi," she said, desperately trying to recall the woman's name. "I'm alright, you?"
Tybalt remained in his position a few feet above the floor, staring at the boy for a long, silent moment. "I'm Cap'n Tybalt," he said finally, a haughty, superior tone in his voice. His gaze was once more diverted at the appearance of his first mate, and his feathers smoothed. "'Hoy, Videe. There's shinies up there, 'n I'ma get 'em."
Dragonfly smiled to the small child that was gripping her leg, and couldn't help but grin proudly of her new son. She allowed Lance to introduce himself to the small girl though, and nodded her approval to signify that he should.
Lance looked over at Vidya, tilting his head a bit, his ear twitching a little, before he walked back over to Vidya and Dragonfly. He bowed before Vidya, laying his sword by his side, and gently taking Vidya's hand into his own. He didn't know where his actions were coming from, or why he was doing it. He just felt that it was what he was supposed to do.
"Hello," he greeted, on one knee before the girl, still holding her hand, and smiling softly, "I am pleased to meet you... I'm Lance,"
Green? Well. He was green, but, she was blue!
"Pretty blue," he pointed out with a smile, before stepping back, and looking back to Tybalt.
"Captain?" he repeated, blinking a bit, his red eyes focussing on Tybalt, "M'Lance..."
He was put off by the other's haughty, full of himself attitude, and it showed in his stance. His sword was clutched tightly beside him, raised slightly, and his wings flapped with a huff, before folding across his back.
Dragonfly blinked at Inle's seemingly awkward actions, but said nothing to confront it.
"That's good..." she replied, tilting her head and smiling, "I'm doing quite well. How is Marli?"
The feathers that had smoothed not a moment before ruffled once more, causing Tybalt to look like a large, angry pillow. How DARE this new guy lay a hand on HIS first mate? This would have to be rectified, and fast! He hopped down from his position on the wall, stalking over to the tiny Tales before placing himself to the side and just in front of Vidya, a wing extended as if to physically separate her and this interloper. "Aye, Cap'n," he nearly growled. "'N Videe's my firs' mate," he finished, placing a mild emphasis on "my."
Marli? Who the hell was...oh. OH. Well, that explained a lot. Inle and her shadow-self didn't speak nearly as often as they should, and she made a mental note to correct that, and soon. "She's uh...she's alright, I guess. How's...your little critter?" she said lamely.
"Shinies? Viddy saw tha shinies too! But then me see you, and then 'reen boy...so me say Hi instead!"
Vidya grinned, rather proud of herself for being so observant and polite all at the same time. Vidya was about to ask why he didn't just fly all the way up there, since he DID have working wings and all...but her question died on her lips as Lance took her hand. Blinking her white eyes, she focused both of them down on the green boy. She closed her right eye, the one with the pupil, and stared at him with her pupilless one for a moment, before opening both of them again and giggling.
"Lance. Okay. Hiya Lance! So weird."
Of course, she was referring to what he was doing right now.
The girl then squeaked as Tybalt suddenly appeared infront of her, causing Vidya to shift herself onto the balls of her sandaled feet to see over his wings. Her expression was thoroughly curious; what was so wrong with what Lance had done? She hugged other people all the time...!
Dragonfly raised an eyebrow at Inle, unable to keep herself from doing so, and feeling a bit awkward.
"Erm... Yeah. Iniko. She's. She's doing well..."
Haha. This was weird.
He was... Weird? He stepped back at the comment, feeling suddenly awkward, before Tybalt intruded between them, and he couldn't help but narrow his eyes again.
His first mate? You couldn't own a person. They had free will. Everyone had it. Wait. Shiney?
He turned his head towards where Tybalt had been climbing, and to where Vidya had mentioned seeing something shiney. The boy was obviously distracted for several moments as his gaze focused on the shiney stationary.
He turned his gaze back to Tybalt, and the grip on his sword tightened. He could already tell that he didn't like the other's attitude. Not one bit.
Another day, another visit to the Store. This was getting annoying, he felt like a toy sitting on a shelf in a toy store. Oh let's play with this one! However, today he was with akiya, so he kept his grumbling down to mental images of death by fire and other lovely things like that. When the tall Angel pushed open the door, he took quick note of who was there. The featherduster, Viddy and some green.. dragon type. Ah, so his dream hadn't been faked. The Tome had given out another Tale. Least this one looks interesting.. and smells interesting. Such a bother.
Once inside, Akiya murmured soft words into his ear and stroked his hair. The Angel had been keeping them up later to have talks about thing. Jiro still didn't like people.. especially not many of the other Tales... but he wouldn't be so easily pushed to violence. Or, well, he promised he would try. Which had to be better than nothing, right? Once on the ground, he rubbed the back of his neck, btu didn't make a go towards the group. Instead, he clung to Akiya's robe in one hand, his black glowing dragon plush in the other.
"Good afternoon." He didn't know many of the other Authors so he just kept the greeting rather simple as he went to sit in his normal spot.
She may have hugged other people all the time, but it was quite a different matter when this...this boy that Tybalt already didn't like was placing his hands on her. It was a matter of protection, as Tybalt didn't trust this boy; at least, that was his reasoning for it. "Aye, Videe, s'weird," he readily agreed. He noticed where the dragon's gaze wandered and smirked. Those shinies would be his and Vidya's, if he had anything to say about it.
Inle mentally sweatdropped. This wasn't as going as well as she would've hoped, not that she knew she would've hoped it up until a moment ago. "That's good to hear!" she blurted out, clearly at a loss.
Vidya's wings twitched again as she heard the door open once more. It seemed that her wings, the laziest part about her, where finally starting to become active like the rest of her. Enoh didn't mind at all though...She just wanted to squeal whenever Vidya's wings twitched...that was just too cute! But since Enoh wasn't here, there was no threat of that happening. Instead poor Teivel had to suffer through this, and he did so by sitting by the fire and ignoring everyone around him.
The tale, briefly ignoring Tybalt and Lance, waved her arms over her head to get the attention of Jiro. Oh, it was so nice to see him again! The girl laughed happily, her eyes closing in glee.
"Jiro! Hiya! S'nice ta see you again! Oh, and Hullo! Wow, you tall."
It was probably a good thing Vidya was awesome at keeping secrets. She had opened her eyes to look up at the man Jiro was clinging to, finding him to be an awful lot taller than the adults she was used too.
Hearing Tybalt talk, Vidya's eyes opened, and focused on him curiously. Somehow, she figured his agreement had a little bit of a different tone than hers did...and of course, she felt the need to clear this up! Vidya didn't want to be misunderstood, and then disliked...that would be very bad. She smiled at Lance over Tybalt's wing.
"But weirds'good!"
Lance was not weird! He glared at Tybalt, his lip curling a bit, his grip on his sword tightening.
"Your weird too," he said, to Tybalt, and not Vidya.
He glanced towards the shiney stationary once more, and could already sense challange arising.
He was momentarily distracted by Jiro's entrance, and nodded to the new arrival, but was more intent on focusing on Tybalt. The parrot boy he already highly disliked. He blinked a bit at Vidya, tilting his head curiously. Weird... Good? Maybe...
Dragonfly too, was beginning to feel the awkwardness of the situation more prominently than before, and she offered a lopsided, nervous grin.
"Well," she chirped, glancing to Inle's book, and then back to her face, "I'll leave you to your book then. Eeh heeh..."
She looked around for something to distract herself with, and not seem rude. She spotted Akiya, and heard his greeting, and thus, offered her own.
"Hello," she said politely.
Hearing someone call his name, he looked over to see Viddy was waving her arms trying to get his attention. Oh, Viddy. He waved his hand back at her, smiling faintly. Good thing to see she didn't make a huge production over him. Seeing her look at Akiya, he smirked. "That's my Father... and it's good to see you again, Viddy. And how are you?"
Akiya's brow shifted at how he interacted with Viddy and it made him rather happy to see that he was rather polite to the Tale. Maybe he would change his opinion on girls....
.....
..... highly doubted it though.
EDIT: Noticing Dragonfly respond to his greeting, he smiled. "It feels a bit.. tense in here. Are things not going well?"
Tybalt glanced over his shoulder at the sound of the door opening yet again and gazed levelly at Jiro for a moment. He still didn't know how he felt about the boy, having never interacted with him, but that would have to wait until later; there were bigger issues at hand here. He turned his attention back to his first mate and the loathsome creature in front of him. "Weird's good...sometimes," he said in response to both Vidya and Lance. Tybalt crossed his arms over his chest, his taloned feet planted sturdily on the floor, his stance showing his utter confidence.
"Sorry," Inle mumbled, trailing off, nodding at the new arrivals before turning back to her book.
Vidya looked between Lance and Tybalt, that ever-curious expression on her face. She didn't really understand what was going on, but she assumed it was a boy thing, and decided to stay out of it. She removed herself from that situation and wandered over to Jiro, humming the entire way over.
The tale looked up at Akiya, blinking her white eyes.
"Hallo Jiro's Daddie! Wow, you almost's'tall as Tei!"
Or maybe taller, she figured. Vidya pointed over the the solitary Reindeer tahnee that sat by the fire, promptly ignoring her mention of him. He was only here to make sure she didn't hurt herself, and conversing with others wasn't part of his duty. Besides, he didn't want to be here in the first place, but once Enoh had set her foot down, nobody, not even Teivel, could defy her.
Giggling a bit, Vidya turned back to Jiro, smiling as happily as ever.
"M'real good! How be you?...me left Kali at home!"
She stated that fact proudly, as if it had any importance at all. Well, it actually did.

Oh dear. She'd offended Inle. Or upset her, or something.
"Nonono!" she said, pulling her hands up, "Don't apologize... Eeh... heh... There's nothing to apologize for.."
She smiled meekly, and then left Inle to her book. She looked to Akiya, and grinned sheepishly, looking towards the children.
"Erm. A little tense? Eh..."
She didn't know what to say, other than that.
Lance easily matched the other's stance, his sword clutched tightly in his hand, his stance proud, and noble as he glared at the other. He would show no weakness in front of this one, he'd be damned if he did.
Blinking at Viddy, he couldn't help his smile as he pet her on the head. "Well unless Tei is almost eight feet, then it's safe to say I'm taller than him." She was very sweet and he couldn't help liking the girl. Maybe Jiro would at least like her.. cause he knew well what he thought about Aido..
He nodded when he saw that she didn't have her plushie with her. "Ah I see... I brought one of mine... I'm trying to figure out what to do with the other ones. Father bought me too many and I don't want them all.." His lips pursed gently as he nodded to himself. "Maybe I can give one to you? Or something?"
It wasn't often that he offered to give anyone -anything- so this was a big thing for him. He only did that if he considered you someone he was on friendly terms with. "Did he shift again and be mean to you?"
Tybalt's grin was more a baring of teeth than anything else. His wings folded to his back as Vidya took her leave, and he stared at Lance for a moment, as if assessing him. His gaze eventually flicked towards the shiny stationary; his smirk turned decidedly mean. With a bit of a swagger, he went back to his space on the wall and began once more the slow climb upwards, his talons creating more holes in the wall as they held his weight up.
Inle's glance was torn once more from her book, and she finally put it pages-down in her lap. "Sorry for being sorry, then?" At the mention of the "tense" situation, she glanced at her feathered son and rolled her eyes. "Yeah. That's just Tybalt being Tybalt."
Vidya hadn't the faintest idea why feet had anything to do with how tall someone was. Giving him a strange look, Vidya looked down at her own sandaled feet, wiggling her toes a bit before giving him the benefit of the doubt. She nodded, her tone naturally sweet.
"Well, Tei's vurry tall! But okay, you taller."
Her gaze then turned towards Jiro, blinking at him for a moment before clapping happily, throwing her arms around him in a hug.
"Oh! Viddy'd like that lots! Thank you! I...Oh, whoops. Sorry!"
She giggled, removing her arms from around him once she realized she might have done something wrong. Jiro seemed like the type of person you should only hug when you're alone, and she'd almost forgotten that! Lucky save on her part. Shift again? Oh...he was talking about Kalani again. Vidya frowned and nodded.
"Yes. Kali's'mean still...so me left him in my bedroom."
Hearing taloned feet clicking, Vidya looked over her shoulder just in time to see Tybalt head back to the shiney stationary. She pouted a bit...she wanted to go too! But there was no way she could get up there by herself, and she figured it'd be mean to suddenly leave Jiro. Sooo...she did the next best thing; cheer him on from where she was! Oh, and guide him too. She figured he might not be able to see too well since he was against the wall, and the shinies were on a shelf.
"Yay Cap'n! C'n you see? Viddy can tell when you get close..!"
Lance's eyes narrowed further as he watched the other swagger towards the wall, and the sense of challange rose once more in his chest. His wings unfolded from his back, taking a testing flap, and he was surprised at the ease of which the seemingly small apendages lifted him. Ah. But it wouldn't be fair to fly. He tucked his wings back, and 'sheathed' his wooden sword into the shirt upon his back, folding his wings over it to keep the wooden weapon held steady. He went to the other side of the wall, still near the stationary, and looked to Tybalt, challange written across his features. He didn't want to ruin the wall though, and thus took a moment to concider a way up without causing too much damage. He looked to the shelves, and wondered if it would hold his weight, before shrugging a bit, his tall frame reaching up to grip the first shelf, and pull himself up, and begin the climb.
Dragonfly didn't really know what to do with herself, and so she sat herself down in the place she had been frequenting, and sighing softly.
Tybalt tossed a grin to his first mate before returning to his task. Now that he had gotten the hang of pushing his claws through the wall, rather than just searching for toeholds, his progression was much easier. He already had a more-than-healthy head start on the dragon, and not one to grow lax in the face of sure victory, only increased his pace.
He saw how Viddy was looking at her feet and he gently shook his head. "Your height isn't measured by your feet... you'll get it later.. if I had the right book, I'd try to explain it to you..." When she hugged him, he patted her briefly on the back. However, she seemed to remember and she backed away. "Then I'll bring you over one sometime soon then, neh? Maybe tomorrow, if Father remembers, anyway."
Noticing how something seemed to be going down with Tybalt and the newbie, he felt himself filled with a grim sort of pleasure. Aww did they not like each other? Odd how the males seemed to be having issues with each other. Was this a pattern thing? "Wanna sit next to me, Viddy?"
Dragonfly sweatdropped further as she watched the going on's between Lance and Tybalt, and shook her head softly.
Lance was determined to catch up to the other, and he took leaps to climb higher. He was gaining on Tybalt, but he felt it wasn't fast enough. He pushed every muscle in his body to move faster, the competetive spirit in him driving him onward. He was just a handhold away from Tybalt's foot. Then he was at the other's waist, and finally, he hauled himself up so that he was next to the parrot child.
He turned his head for a moment, locking his crimson gaze with the other, before continuing on. It would be a race to the bitter end, it seemed.
"Me thought not...'sounded weird."
Vidya wrinkled up her nose. She still didn't get it, but since Jiro said it wasn't true, she had no choice but to believe him. Besides, he knew things like this. She smiled at him, before lifting her gaze to watch Tybalt's progress. He was going in the right direction so far!
"Okay! That be very nice, thank you! Should me get the...uhm...direcshions...to my n'Mommie's house? Oooh...Hiya Aii!"
She wrinkled up her nose a bit. She knew that word, and yet she forgot how to pronounce it. Oh well. She had heard the door open, and of course gave Aido a rather large and fast wave in greeting, before her attention was drawn back to Jiro. Vidya blinked at his question, and then nodded.
"Okay, sure! But Viddy needs t'be able to see tha Cap'n, okay? Oh...!"
Speaking of which...Vidya had lifted her gaze to see that Tybalt was getting very close to the shiny stationary...and of course that meant she had to tell him where it was! She cupped her blue hands at the sides of her mouth, calling over to him.
"Cap'n! Tha trezure's Anodder shelf up!"
Lance's proximity would prove to be his downfall, as Tybalt pulled a move any pirate would have been proud of. Two more quick steps upward brought Tybalt's feet within easy reach of his opponent, and he didn't hesitate to take advantage of this by shifting his weight to the side, then planting his feet upon Lance's head and shoulder. Using the dragon as a launchpad, he jumped the remaining few inches to the shelf, bellyflopping atop it before wiggling into a more secure position. The shelf shook beneath his weight and movement but held, and Tybalt crawled along it until he reached the prized stationary. He shifted into a sitting position, his legs dangling over the edge of the shelf, and held the paper in his lap. His grin was not a little victorious and smug.
Inle's jaw dropped. She wasn't shocked that Tybalt literally walked all over Lance, but she was a bit surprised that he had managed to get so high in the first place. Chagrined, she turned towards Chibi. "Uh...sorry. He's kind of a jerk."
Lance's red eyes widened in realization as he watched the other near him, and though he struggled to get further to the side, he didn't have enough room. He felt the pirate's claws dig into his shoulder, and he let out a cry as the other leapt forward. His hand came lose from it's hold as he reached up to grasp the other's foot as he tried to launch away from him, but this lead to no avail. Instead Lance lost his footing, due to Tybalt's weight, and the balance he had sacrificed by reaching a hand up. He plumetted backwards towards the floor, and hardly had any time at all to turn himself over, and spread his wings.
He landed hard on the floor, and let out a cry of pain as he did so, his eyes narrowed into pained slits as he gasped for the air that had been sucked from him during the fall.
"Boy's will be boy's," she murmered in reply to Inle, and shrugged softly.
She blinked in surprise as Lance began to lose his grip, and watched in horror as he struggled to right himself in the air, though too late, and watched as he hit the floor.
She was on her feet in a flash, making her way over to the collapsed dragon boy, fearful for his safety.
"Lance! Lance are you alright? Is anything broken?"
She was talking quickly, obviously acting like a panicked mother.
Tybalt waved the paper in the air towards Vidya, a sign that their teamwork had prevailed yet again. "We wins! Th' treasure's ours!" Something moved out of the corner of his eye, and he looked towards it, watching passively as Lance plummetted. While Tybalt wasn't normally a cruel child, he found himself somewhat pleased that his foe got his just desserts; that's what happened when one decided to cross Captain Tybalt, in his mind.
Inle, however, was not so unmoved by the boy's fall. She leapt from the chair, eyes wide, the sound of her book falling to the floor deafened by the sound of a heavier object making the same contact. She shot a deadly gaze towards Tybalt, who was busy reveling in his foe's demise, before moving tentatively towards Chibi and Lance. "s**t, I'm sorry...is he ok?" Without waiting for an answer, she looked up at Tybalt, who was now in her line of sight. "That was ******** up, Tybalt. I should leave you up there for that." Tybalt merely shrugged, unphased by his mother's threat and language.
Lance sat up shakily, sucking in steady breaths as he began to get it back, before lifting his head, and glaring sharply at Tybalt. Oh that b*****d would pay. Lance could already tell that this was the beginning of a long rivalry between the two.
"Y'won because... Y'cheated," he rasped through grated teeth, pulling his wooden sword from his back, and using it to pull himself back onto his fit, before brandishing the weapon towards the Tale, "Y'd never win... in a fair fight..."
Dragonfly shook her head towards Inle, and smiled weakly.
"No-- It's not your fault-- Geeze-- Wholly crap--" she didn't know what to do with herself, and fussed over Lance, who swatted at her for it. He wouldn't be seen as a mother's boy. He didn't want to be fawned over before his obvious enemy.
"I'm fine," he said through gritted teeth, giving his wings a flap to see that they were still in working order, and then checking to see that everything else was fine, too.
Vidya had been about to cheer in victory, and that cheer died on her lips as well, replaced by a horrified expression and the heavy gasping noise she made as Lance fell. Her white eyes had widened considerably, and her hands pressed against her cheeks as she flinched upon hearing the new tale hit the ground. She spun her head to the side to give Jiro an almost apologetic look before she scampered over to Lance, peering down at him worriedly.
She didn't know what to do in this situation...so she winged it.
"Lance...! ...Cap'n, That was mean...!"
She had moved her attention from Lance up to her Captain, giving him a surprisingly disappointed and somewhat stern look.
"'S'why I don' fight fair," he retorted cheekily, gripping the paper tightly as he was grabbed off the shelf, not stumbling as he was placed upon the floor. He looked haughtily towards the wounded dragon before turning towards his first mate. "Videe, we's PIRATES. Sometimes we gottsa do mean things fer treasure, see?" He waved the shiny paper in front of her face, as if to prove his point.
Inle scowled at him before turning back to Chibi and Lance, crouching to the latter's eye level. "I'm sorry, sweetie, he's really not that bad...are you alright?"
Lance looked to Vidya, a cold glare in his eyes, though it was not towards her. He turned back towards Tybalt, and brandished his sword before him, challanging the other.
"Where's your honor...?" Lance demanded, his tail swishing angrily behind him, "Your scum,"
He spat at the other's feet, to signify what he meant. He almost completely ignored Inle, merely casting her a short glance, before his attention focused back on Tybalt.
Vidya couldn't respond to that. Instead, she gave an objective whine in response, and resorted to playing with the small lock of braided hair that came over her shoulder from behind her right ear, the one with a red feather dangling from the bead-like tie. Playing with this braid and Mrinliel's feather was her newly formed nervous, bored, or upset habit. But she needed to respond, if only to make herself feel better about it. So, to remedy this need, she muttered her words with a pout.
"But s'still mean..."
Her white eyes widened again as Lance had decided to start another fight. After a few seconds, her eyes then narrowed stubbornly, her hands letting go of her small braid to form small fists at her sides, her elbows bent. The currently brave little girl stepped in between the two boys.
"NO FIGHT'N!"
She looked between the two, a stubborn look on her face, and her feet planted. She was deadset on stopping anything between them right now.
Tybalt was about to respond with some wiseass retort or another when Vidya, his beloved and loyal first mate, gave HIM an order. If it had been anyone else, he probably would have smacked them for daring to do such a thing, but...this was VIDYA. The one person who had been there for him through thick and thin; the one person he could trust. So he did what he never thought he'd do: he followed. "Aye, Videe," he said, a mixture of awe and affection in his voice.
A growl issued from his throat, but he did as the young blue girl had asked. He dropped his sword to his side, continuing to shoot Tybalt a harsh glare.
"Fine," he snapped, anger still coursing through his form.
But Vidya, even though he hardly knew her, she was a maiden, and something deep within him demanded that he keep from harming her. He'd do as she asked, for now at least.
"Maybe we should go," Dragonfly murmered, leaning down to whisper this in Lance's ear.
Lance nodded, and turned on his heal, not even saying any goodbyes to anyone, after all, he felt no reason to.
Dragonfly smiled weakly, and ruffled up Vidya's hair, issuing a soft adieu to the child, before waving her regards to Inle and Akiya, and making her way out.
Vidya's stubborn expression faltered for a moment, when Tybalt decided to do as she had asked. Turning her head, she gave him a thanking, and suddenly happy smile before turning to look over at Lance. One down, one to go. Vidya winced as Lance snapped his response, but she was still eternally grateful that they hadn't just moved away from her.
Oh, she looked like she was about to hit the ground with relief. It had taken so much to stand inbetween the two, since one was her Captain and the other had hell in his eyes...and now that the threat was over, she just wanted to fall to the ground and stay there.
Instead, she stayed standing, futher letting them know she was serious by speaking one more time.
"Good. No fight'n...N'...Bye Lance."
Vidya smiled up at Dragonfly, patting down her hair shortly after it was ruffled. Once they were out the door, Vidya heaved a thankful sigh and plunked herself down on the floor.
Geez, she wanted to nap now.
Well well that had been rather interesting. Made him glad he just sat back and didn't interfere in something not of his making. Seemed the little pirate didn't know the meaning of playing fair. That made him smirk. Ah, gotta love fights. But it all ended due to Viddy. Brave little Viddy. In the back of his head, he had to admit that it was rather cute that she ws doing something like that. But the fight was averted, thanks to her.
Akiya waved to Chibi when she headed out with Lance, a brow shifted. Tales seemed to have some inner issues with each other. That was rather sad and he lifted up Jiro and placed him into his lap. He hoped things would get better....
Tybalt smirked levelly at Lance until the younger Tale was out of the shop before looking once more at Vidya, chuckling at her visible signs of relief. Ignoring Inle's obviously angry look, he sat himself beside her, waving the shiny paper once more. "We still gots th' treasure," he said, his tone only a trifle smug.
Vidya looked over at Tybalt as he sat down beside her, then towards the paper he held. Well, there was no way she could deny giving him that...she just wished he hadn't been so ruthless about it! But at least nobody got really hurt...after all, Lance was well enough to challenge Tybalt after his fall. With that in mind, Vidya smiled.
"Yep, we gots'it."
She then squeaked in surprise as the top of her head was suddenly poked. Vidya leaned her head backwards to look up at the one responsible for that...and was met by the stoic golden gaze of Teivel, who had obviously had enough of this place. He wasn't much moved by Vidya's bold interference, but he did give her props for being able to do it.
"Vidya, say your goodbyes...we're going home."
"Awww Teeeeei...Okay..."
Though she whined her objection, she looked back down at Tybalt and gave him a hug, still thoroughly thankful he decided to not fight. Finished with offering her goodbyes to her Captain first, Vidya then stood up and toddled over to Jiro, unable to hug him from where he was sitting, but that never stopped her from waving.
"Okay...Bye bye Cap'n, Bye bye Jiro!"
She waved with her free hand as the other weasled its way into Teivel's, the stag giving nothing more than a look of objection before he guided her out of the stationary shop, heading back home.
Tybalt tentatively returned Vidya's hug--he was still unused to the whole touching thing--and waved as she departed. He didn't seem surprised as Inle scooped him up, and he held the night's spoils securely. "We're out of here too, kiddo...and YOU are in some serious trouble." Tybalt merely rolled his eyes. When was he NOT in trouble? Inle nodded towards the unfamiliar pair before she and her bundle of terror were out the door.

Gahaha. Little do the children know, but I've been taking pictures. I'm very sneaky in that sense I suppose...but still. It'll be so cute when they get older, because then they have memories of their infancy, whether it be good or bad! So, since I'm finished making this seem important, here is the new collections to the photo album:
Oh, its just so nice to see them get along! The camera kind of distorted some of Tybalt's colours but...you get the point, right? ^o^
Sometimes I wish Tybalt and Lance would get along...but I suppose some wishes just aren't meant to be granted! Oh well...it still makes for an adorable photo. =3
Oh dear, I should get going right now...! Apparently there's a Anniversary celebration in the Tahnee Orphanage...I know Mieke went ahead already, but Nio and Vidya wish to go as well! That means I gotta get off my butt...
Ciao!

Oh. My. God.
HE PROPOSED. We're going to get Married! Me! Nio! Engaged...!
I'm one damn happy woman right now...
I really suppose I should backtrack! Alright...I suppose I should start off at the Tahnee Orphanage. Nio Vidya and I had gone for the Anniversary celebration sometime after Mieke left, just because we were waiting for Vidya to get ready to go. So, while we got there...this annoying Rash of a man decided to hound me, and he didn't get the hint even when I clung to Nio. Well, this rash then decided to challenge Nio to a duel...which ended up being a cooking duel, and then it ended up as Mieke and a small boy doing the Iron Chef cookoff in their places.
Really strange how that happened.
Anyway, before the cook-off actually started, a machine exploded and nearly destroyed everything...but luckily everyone got out alright. The worst thing was, as soon as he was out, Nio went back into the burning room to extinguish the fires. LIKE HELL I was going to let him go in alone.
Eh, I'm not really sure how, but one of the huge beams for the ceiling fell, and it nearly crushed us...but again, Nio to the rescue! My hero. ^o^ Anyway! It was there, covered in dust and debris from the now fire-free room, he proposed to me. Proposed! Eeee...
He nearly lost the ring...but even if he hadn't found it again, I would have married him anyway. The ring isn't whats important, its just knowing that you're bound to that person now, that your feelings are strong enough for the other that you're willing to spend the rest of your life with that person...thats what really counts.
I love Nio, I love him so much...and I'm having absolutely no seconds thoughts about marrying him. Not a single one. He's my soulmate, and I know that much for sure. But...
EEEEEEEE. I'M GETTING MARRIED.

"Mommie."
Vidya stated this bluntly as she descended the staircase step by step. It had been the tale's intention to gain the attention of the female shapeshifter who was fussing over dinner in the kitchen of the Nibelhiem mansion, and her attempt proved successful as said shapeshifter's silver haired-head peered around the corner.
Enoh eyed her daughter carefully, worry etching her features as she moved to stand infront of Vidya, who was now her height due to the stairs. The girl's rare tone had caught her off guard; it being a strange tone somewhere between Stoic and distress, and thus made her worry; Vidya rarely complained, but when she wasn't impressed or happy about something, you could tell by the tone of her voice. Vidya never was a screamer about her objections in life.
"Whats wrong, Sweetling?"
"M'not feelin' good..."
At this, Vidya finally allowed herself to pout as she wrapped her small arms around her stomach as children tend to do. Staying there for a few seconds, Vidya then unwrapped her arms and held them out to her mother.
The shapeshifter had only hesitated as her tale did, and as soon as Vidya had held out her arms, Enoh had gently pulled the child into her arms, nuzzling the small child affectionately. As her motherly instincts took over, she began to hum softly, gently swaying from side to side. She watched Vidya through her reflection in a nearby mirror, since she was unable to look down at the girl, considering the child's forehead was against her neck.
"What were you doing upstairs then, sweets?"
"S'watching Pirate of tha Ceeriban."
"Caribbean, dear...But where you eating anything?"
"Okay yes, Carrybean. And...Nuh huh. S'was jus' sittin there."
"And you just started to feel sick?"
"Uh huh...Tummy hurt..."
"Aww...Poor Baby! Does it still hurt?"
At Enoh's question, Vidya paused. The shapeshifter, still watching the reflection, witnessed as the blue child's face screwed up, and then relaxed again, as if one final burst of pain came, and then faded. The child's expression was relieved...but very curious as to the sudden disappearance of her stomach ache. Vidya's white eyes were wide with wonder as she responded.
"...No. Viddy's not hurtin' anemore..."
While Vidya seemed to be curious about it, Enoh was very suspicious about it. Never had she heard of a stomach ache fade that quickly...and from doing nothing but watching a pirate movie! She was still very worried, and it showed.
"Are you sure, Vidya?"
"Yes Mommie!"
Vidya's voice was once more cheerful and bubbly, a sharp contrast to the Stoic-Distressed tone she carried moments before.
"Positive?"
"Yep! M'okay now! C'n Viddy finish watchin' movie?"
By this time, Vidya had lifted her head to look squarely at her mother, and Enoh's crimson coloured eyes searched the white orbs staring back at her. The Tale's eyes had always been reflective of how she was feeling, and that made her a terrible liar; and right now, Enoh saw no pain within those bright eyes her daughter had. Sighing in defeat, the shapeshifter eventually gave in, brushing her suspicions aside.
"Well...alright."
Enoh set the now squirming Vidya back onto the stairs. Before Vidya left, however, she turned and hugged her mother's legs...and then promptly bolted up the stairs to finish watching her favourite movie.
"Strange..."
Sighing again, Enoh went back to cooking duty.

Zymbu He couldn't believe he was doing this.. well wait, yes he could. Coming to this place in the dead of night had been rather fun. Mainly cause tracking Viddy down by that smell of hers had been a headtrip on his nose. So many other nasty smells to filter through, bleh. But none of that mattered now. He found his target. A brow arched at the place before he shrugged and set down the box he had tucked under his arm.
If asked why, he wouldn't been able to say exactly why he had gone out of his way like this.. but he wanted to get Viddy something.. at least to thank her for wanting to play with him. Once the box was set, he opened it and made sure everything was in there... "Hmmm..."

"Yup... all there..." Nodding to himself, he reached into the sleve of his kimono and rummaged about a bit, yanking out a blank envelope with Viddy's name on it in Japanese characters (but her name written in English next to it) He had Akiya write a simple message for him, cause he had no patience for writing currently or even wanting to learn. All the note said was thank you for the fun time. That was it, it wasn't signed or anything, but it wouldn't be hard to figure out who it was from. Satsfied with that, he dashed off, disappearing into the darkness as easily as he had appeared. His work was done.((Hope I did this right >>))

It had been sometime the next morning when Jiro's "visit" had been noticed. And like most things left on Enoh's doorstep, she had found it completely by accident.
The shapeshifter was leaving to go and visit Zhamai, who was the only child she had who now had a family of their own to take care of. It was upon opening the door that she spotted the box sitting there, and any farewells she had been about to yell into the house turned into a small, quiet gasp.
This had better not be another child.
Enoh had sworn to not accept anymore children thrown at her, until most of her current roster had grown...and usually when something appears on your doorstep, especially in this house and world, its a child...of sorts. Sighing a bit, and offering a plea to any higher being that may be listening, the shapeshifter knelt down and picked up the envelope. Her crimson eyes scanned the strange characters that so neatly lined the front, and upon reading the english version, the name of her blue wonder, Enoh had been so relieved she fell back onto her butt and thanked that higher power, the one who was obviously listening.
After a moment, she called back into the house, since she had left the door open.
"Viddy! There's something down here for you!"
A few seconds later, a bubbly little voice responded, followed closely by the physical form of her tale as the energetic girl bounced down each step in turn. This wasn't their own house of course, but Vidya was comfortable enough to be able to play like this.
"Hai, Mommie? Whas' for Viddy?"
Obviously, she'd been keeping up with her remembering of the word Jiro had taught her. When she appeared behind her mother, Vidya had the box handed to her, something she took a few steps back and sat down with, placing it on her lap. White eyes stared up at her author, and she was obviously very happy to have gotten something!
"Who's it from, Mommie?"
"I'm assuming its Jiro...didn't you say he taught you some Japanese words? Your name is written here in Japanese...I think."
Enoh turned the envelope over so the happily beaming Vidya could see it, and while Vidya wanted to stare at the lettering, there was a box on her lap that was calling to her! Oh, Jiro as SO going to get a BIG hug next time she saw him! ...Or so Vidya decided. Enoh took the liberties of reading the (very short) letter as Vidya opened the box.
"Oh WOW!"
Each present the tale took out carefully, looking at everything in turn and commenting on what she liked about it (of course, it was always great that they were PRESENTS!) before placing it on various spots on her and around her. The Dragons she liked because they weren't like Kalani, and the colours were pretty (The red one went onto her ankles, and the white one onto her head). The fan was like the one her Mommie had, only purple and less spikey (she held onto this). The doll had a pretty blue dress (Enoh corrected her with "Kimono", and this went at her side), the candles were very pretty and smelt very nice (beside the doll!), the hairpin had a blue jewel on it (she actually slid this into the cloak clasp she used as a hair tie). And the Lollipop...the lollipop...! That was CANDY. And Candy was something she loved, even though she didn't need it at all (She had opened this, and stuck it into her mouth).
Oh yes, Jiro was going to get a MASSIVE hug. She was already plotting this.
By the time Enoh had given Vidya the letter and envelope to stare at, the blue girl was trying to figure out what to play with first; everything was so wonderful! But now that she had the lettering to stare at...well, all was okay in that department.
After a while, the shapeshifter managed to remember what she had originall set out to do, and after an equally long while, managed to talk Vidya into putting the presents away and to take them up to her room. This was something she didn't want to do, the hallway was just fine after all! But since Enoh asked her to move, the tale had to agree. putting everything carefully back into its box, Vidya moved it upstairs with the help of Mieke, the doe tahnee who had previously been in the kitchen.
Hugging both of her daughters goodbye, Enoh ran out of the house, already late in visiting Zhamai. Mieke was now stuck with babysitting the blue wonder and all of her newly aquired toys.

And, with all honesty, she stares at him, her eyes playfully lowered- M'bigger than you. *blink* No your not! *Blinks curiously, and raises an eyebrow, confused* *Sits up, since he can now, and pulls her the rest of the way out from under the couch* Am so. -Grins, still cling-gripping the sword, and on her plush-infested belly. Well, the plush was now under her shirt at her side, making her look a little out of proportion- >> Y'are not! Your shoort~ *teases and grins* ...Nuh huh. -She pouted, whining about her vertically challenged stature. However, while he was busy teasing her, she tugged on the sword to dislodge it from his hand, and then scampered back under the couch!- Mine now. =3 *blinks, and flexes now empty fingers, before looking under the couch at her, shocked* Hey! *Flutters wings indiginantly, before flopping down on his belly, to crawl after her* -Cackle-giggles, curling up against the wall again- *Gets his but stuck, and can only squirm under so far* *Whines and paws forward, before bursting into laughter* Heeee...LANII's stuck! =3 -Wraps both arms around the hostage wooden sword, that plushie still somewhere around her waist. I mean. He told me the other day he wants to be a knight. He'll get himself in tighter spaces than this... Oh no...Viddy help! -Sets her hostages aside, so she could press her hands against his shoulders, and her feet against the wall, using these as leverage to help push him out!- *Huffs, and struggles against the couch* *Tries standing up, and lifts the couch a good inch or so, before exhausts himself and flops back down* *Is shoved back as he pushes the couch up, and is thus shoved out* *Rolls back, and huffs as he falls back on the floor* *Starts to laugh* -Pokes her head out from under the couch, still giggling like mad.- Heeee...! Hiya Mommie! Hiya Dee! Well...that explains why he was stuck there in the first place. >> *Blinks* *Laughs softly* I win. =3 -Disappears back under the couch to gather her hostages...and she reappears in the room to return them to Lance, since they were rightfully his- ^^ *Bows his head* I admit defeat to you, Vidya. You'll make a fine scourge. *Laughs at himself saying this* Okay! M'not bigger than you, then! I can fit under tha couch. n.n -Holds out the plush and the sword- It was my big butt that couldn't fit. *Laughs, and grins sheepishly again* *wraps a hand on the sword, and takes the plush from Vidya* Thank you. ^^ Notta big butt, but a big tail! -Points at it- N' you're welcome. ^^ I wouldn't take 'em from you anyway! Thats not nice. n.n *raises an eyebrow* And yet you'd steal from people you don't know? Hmm. Borrow without permission. =3 Same difference. ...But s'much nicer then I say it! ^^! After a long while of nagging (which, by the way, Vidya was getting VERY good at), Enoh had finally caved to take her Tale daughter to the shop once more. After all, the grounding sentence was lifted now, having been three weeks since the initial...incident. So why not go out and make new friends now, eh?
It was lucky for Enoh that she didn't have to worry about Vidya. Well..too much, anyway. The shapeshifter, shortly upon settling herself into one of the most comfortable chairs in the shop (by pure accident, of course), had quickly fallen asleep, leaving Vidya to her own devices. She'd been very busy lately, and it was starting to wear her down physically as well as mentally. She needed this sleep.
Vidya, perfectly aware that her mother was asleep, never even thought of taking advantage of the situation. She had gotten what she wanted, and thus was going to be a very good girl to ensure another visit.
So, at this current point in time, Vidya had seated herself on one of the carpets near the chairs, waiting for someone to play with. As she waited, she played with Forte and Kalani. The former was an orange dream plushie, one who was named after Fortuna, who was the Dream bird her father owned. The latter pretended to be a plushie in the shape of a green dragon, and nobody seemed to understand Vidya when she insisted that the plush was alive, and that it was playing tricks on her. It was this fact that made her lament ever picking up the plush, but at the same time, she didn't want to hurt his feelings by abandoning him.
She was strange that way.Shiroi sighed as she dragged Miako down the street, towards the Stationary Shop. Even after her meeting with Aido, it seemed that her Tale was still a bit anti-social. It had taken a great deal of pleading and a bit of bribery to peel Miako away from her pile of books, and she was going to make the most of it.
Upon reaching the shop, Shiroi saw Enoh napping through the window, and entered as quietly as she could. Seeing Vidya playing on the ground, she let Miako go, with instructions to play with the other Tale.Chances are, even if Shiroi had come in banging pots and pans together, the shapeshifter wouldn't even budge.
Vidya's sidewings twitched upon hearing the door open, the small girl instantly looking over her shoulder to see who it was. Unable to get a clear view of the door, she turned fully around, now sitting and facing the other child.
As was her custom, Vidya was picking out things on the other child that she liked...and within seconds of looking at her, she knew exactly what she was going to say.
Grinning and bouncing to her feet, she toddled over towards the other girl, holding out her hand like she'd seen so many adults do.
"'Allo! M'Viddy...! N'You gots pretty eyes...Blue. Viddy likes blue! N'yer horn...s'like a uni-corn!"Shiroi resigned herself to browsing through the shelves, keeping an eye on the two Tales.
Miako blushed, unused to this kind of praise. She took the energetic girl's hand, shaking it.
"I'm Miako! 'S nice to meet you, Viddy-chan! You gots a pretty jewel on your head! Mii likes blue too." Nodding energetically, Miako noticed one more thing. "You gots wings!" Naturally, the young Tale was enthralled my the feathery contraptions on Vidya's head.Vidya giggled, only happily shaking Miako's hand. Oh, she loved praise! In fact, the blue girl liked Miako even more now, aside from the fact she was so interesting to look at. At the mention of her wings however, the blue child let go of the other's hand, only to press the back of her own hands against her pointed ears, and wiggling her fingers only because she thought it was fun.
"Yes! Viddy gots wings! Dun work tho. Just...there."
Shrugging, she dropped her arms to her sides again, her attention caught by the other girl's horn. Giving Miako a curious look, Vidya pointed towards it.
"C'n Viddy touch't?"Miako looked warily at the blue-skinned Tale.
Feeling her horn pulse slightly, she quickly said "M'kay, but not for too long," not wanting the other girl to feel bad. "An- can Mii touch Viddy's wings?"
Oh, how she wanted wings of any sort.Vidya looked ecstatic that she was allowed to touch the interesting looking extremeity the other girl possessed. Touch her wings? Yeah, that was about a fair trade. Vidya giggled, nodding happily.
"YAY! Thank'oo! N'..M'kies! You c'n touch Viddy's wings!"
Of course there was no problem with it...as long as the feathers didn't get pulled. When it came to the feathers, she was very, very glad she didn't have as many feathers as her Captain did.
Carefully, she reached out to gently brush her fingers against the horn, just testing it before dragging her fingers along the surface. Ooh...it felt so NEAT!Miako giggled as Vidya's fingers ran along her horn. That tickled! The child, of course, had no understanding about what her horn was made of, and thus couldn't realize that it definitely wasn't Vidya's fingers that were making her laugh.
One Vidya was finished, Miako said slightly impatiently, "My turn! My turn!"
Without waiting for a response, she reached out and brushed Vidya's wings, smiling happily [and enviously] at the silky texture of the feathers. At Miako's impatience, Vidya lowered her arms to let the other girl play with her wings, the tale's white eyes closing as a rather lopsided smile formed on her lips...This TICKLED. She squirmed lightly with each twitch her wings gave, the tale giggling gleefully.
By the time Miako had finished, Vidya's arms were pressed tightly to her chest, her hands in fists just inder her chin...and looking like she might fall over from laughing from being tickled. At seeing the other Tale's obvious ticklishness, Miako smiled wickedly. Could anyone say tickle torture time? She renewed her efforts, laughing gleefully."...EEP!"
Vidya hadn't expected Miako to go for the wings again. The blue girl recoiled a little bit, and then fell back into her fit of laughter, trying in vain to get the other girl to stop tickling her.
Of course, her laughter made this damn near impossible! Finally, Miako stopping tickling the girl's wings, mainly because she herself was also laughing too hard to keep up the tickling. However... her hand caught on one of the feathers, accidentally pulling it out. Miako froze in horror, all laughter immediately dispersing.
"Aa, Mii is sososo sorry!" Miako blubbered, on the verge of tears. "Mii din't mean to, I swear!" The Tale buried her face in her hands, hoping that Vidya wouldn't be mad at her. Vidya's white eyes widened as the tell-tale pain of a pulled feather hit her. A hiss escaped her lips, and nothing more for another long while, her blue hands pressed tightly against her sidewings. Shortly after her hiss of pain, Vidya bit down on her bottom lip to keep herself from whimpering, and tears of pain formed in her tightly closed eyes.
Ooooh did that ever hurt! After a while of silence and fending off pain and whimpers, Vidya slowly lowered her blue hands, looking to see if the tugged feather had drawn any blood. Luckily it hadn't, though she didn't really think it would bleed in the first place. Sniffling, Vidya wiped her eyes, getting rid of those pesky tears. She had heard the other girl's horrified plea, though at first, Vidya was a little hesitant to reply. But when she did, there was no malice in her tone or expression.
"...S'okay...jus' an accid'nt. Mii no cry...!"
Her wing still hurt, but that was nothing right now. Vidya disliked seeing others cry, and it was just a small feather, no big deal, right? Miako really didn't mean to, and Vidya knew that perfectly. She might have been angry (though probably only for a little bit) with Miako if she'd done it on purpose, but since she hadn't, Vidya was willing to forgive and forget.
Trying to make light of things, Vidya piped up, brightening in expression and tone.
"Yeah, S'was jus' an accid'nt! Mii c'n keep Viddy's feter, if you wants! Jus'..no cryin, kay?"
Reaching out, Vidya hugged Miako, desperate to get the girl to realize she wasn't angry with her, and that it was just an accident. No hard feelings on her part whatsoever,Miako's mind blanked out, not even hearing Vidya's desperate pleas that it was an accident. All she could here was the sound of her failure, ringing through her ears. She had hurt someone; made them feel bad. Ugh, she was so stupid! Miako smacked her forehead lightly with her hands, cursing herself.
She finally snapped out of it as she felt Vidya hugging her, realizing that the other Tale wasn't mad at her, or at least was very good at hiding it. Sniffling a bit, she hugged Vidya back.
Shiroi looked at her watch, and realized that it was time to go. Gathering up her things, she went to seek out Miako. Seeing the emotional moment between the two, she paused a moment, and then said gently, "Miako sweetie, we have to go. Say goodbye to Vidya, okay?"
Miako smiled weakly at the blue-skinned girl. "Guess Mii has t'go. Thank you for the feather. Mii will pay you back, 'kay?"
Waving to Vidya, Miako left the stationary store.

Title Vidya's Kimono Before the Party
Grapevines.
They were wonderful things. Not only do they produce fruit, juice, and are part of the recipe for various wines, but they also manage to keep you in touch with the going-ons of people you know, barely know, or don't know at all. Oh yes, they were wonderful.
Well, thats what Vidya gathered, anyway. She didn't quite understand how a grapevine could talk (it didn't have a mouth, after all!), but she could only assume it was possible...since Enoh had said she'd heard things through the grapevines. Maybe her mother was just going crazy? That thought came to her as well.
Then again, this could just be one of those "figures of speech" things that adults tend to do. Kind of like a fork in the road, or how feet measure height. Yeah, adults were weird, and she figured she'd understand it someday, so she promptly put the thought aside. There was a more important task just begging for her attention...
SHOPPING.
The blue tale eyed the clothing as she passed the racks of them, holding onto the hand of her doe-like sister, Mieke. Mieke was calmly walking her down each isle of the multi-cultural clothing store, pointing out various things she thought her charge might like. However, nothing caught the girl's attention, though she did admire some of the colours.
Why were they clothes shopping, you ask?
It all started when Enoh "heard through the grapevine" that Huni's Gaiaversary was in a few days, and thus the shapeshifter decided to host a party in the store for the event. Vidya of course, had insisted politely that she be allowed to dress up; but to do this, she needed dressy clothing. Hence where she and Mieke were now. Enoh would have gone, but she was getting the party ready.
So there they were, looking at various types of clothing from various parts of the world; and not once did Vidya show any interest in actually picking something out...that was, until they wandered into the Japanese Fashion part of the store.
Her attention was instantly caught by a small orange kimono on one of the plastic models, complete with a yellow obi and lining. Letting go of Mieke's hand, the toddler toddled over to the outfit, her eyes wide with wonder...orange was her favourite colour!
When she reached the model however, Vidya paused, her eyelids drooping as if she were about to fall asleep. After a few seconds of silence, her right arm raised, brushing her fingers over the fabric before her.
~*~*~*~
"Oh, its BEAUTIFUL!" It was a woman's voice, an excited woman's voice...it was her voice; and she was speaking very fluent Japanese. Brushing some annoying platinum blonde strands of hair from her face, she carefully reached out and brushed her fingers over the fabric of the kimono being presented to her. She was in awe...never had she seen such fine work than this! Strangely enough, the woman was biased; this Kimono was made especially for her.
She lifted her eyes, looking towards the silhouette of a slightly haunched over figure, the one that was presenting this beautiful piece of work to her. "May I...?" She inquired once more in Japanese, motioning towards the kimono.
"Of course, of course!" The silhouette replied; obviously this figure was an older female. With a bow, the figured turned and led her towards one of the back rooms, one that was sectioned off. "This way, please!"
She couldn't help it; she was giddy with excitement; she wanted to try this kimono on!
~*~*~*~
Vidya blinked suddenly, shaking her head. What WAS that? Platinum blonde hair? Whoever the woman was, she had a kimono identical to this one. The tale stared at her outstretched hand, coiling it back towards herself after a few seconds of wondering silence.
"Hey there Kiddo, are you okay?" Mieke asked softly, placing one of her gentle hands on Vidya's arm, causing the girl to jump a bit in surprise. Vidya turned her head towards her sister, her white eyes wide with shock.
"...'Eke...! Uhm. Yes? Yes. Viddy s'okay. ...'Eke?" The tale nodded. She was okay, she just had a strange dream...whle she was awake. Her first instinct was to ask Mieke about it; but somehow, she doubted the doe would believe her. Vidya pictured it as a Kalani-like incident. Maybe some other day...
"You're sure, Vidya? What is it?" Mieke leaned her head to the side, blinking curiously at her charge.
"C'n Viddy get dis one? Pease?"
After a small nod and a gentle hug (Mieke wasn't convinced Vidya was okay), the doe wandered off with Vidya, to find somebody to help them package the garments.

Title Vidya's Dream Whoa, Deja-vu!
After the shopping trip, Vidya had excitedly gone home to show off her new kimono. Of course, she "Forgot" to mention about the strange memory, and the equally strange platinum-headed woman who took over her sight. She didn't want to worry her mother or anyone else over it.
Enoh had been delighted to see Vidya come home so excited, and the shapeshifter found her tale's choice of attire pretty funny, to say the least. Especially the colouring. Blue and Orange were complimentary colours, after all! She bit her lip to bite back a giggle, and then helped the blue wonder to get the kimono on. Vidya loved it so much, that she stayed in her kimono for the rest of the day, even when she was in her room and playing with her collection of dragons.
However, by the time it started to get dark, Vidya had already exhausted herself mentally as well as physically. She wanted nothing more than to go to bed, and though she put up a fight about having to remove her kimono to sleep, she was pretty good about going to bed a little earlier than normal.
In the blissful peace of slumber, the platinum blonde woman returned to her.
~*~*~*~
Standing on a paved walkway infront of a silhouette seated on a stone bench, she gave a little spin, obviously showing off the orange kimono she had received earlier that day. The two were in a lushious garden, and that was obvious by a few of the landmarks she could point out as she spun.
"So! How do I look?" She inquired, stopping her spin to focus her gaze on the seated figure before her. Her lips were curled into a playful, but still very happy grin, and the tone of her voice was somewhat flirtatious; this being obviously held her affection, and the silhouette was obviously very important to her.
The figure stood, advancing on her slowly. Lifting its right hand, the figure moved some errant strands of her platinum hair from her face, and then brushed the back of its hand against her cheek.
"Beautiful as always, my dear." A man's voice, filled with awe and affection, was the response she had waited only a few seconds for. Slowly, his hand slid from her cheek to rest against her upper arm, his other hand coming to to the same to her other shoulder, gently sliding his hands down her arms to capture her hands. He pulled her playfully closer.
"It suits you, It really does. It was a very good choice, Vidya..."
~*~*~*~
The dream then faded, and as it faded, the tale woke up, her white eyes opening to stare at the ceiling of her bedroom. She was speechless about the dream; however, before she could dwell on it, Morpheus, the god of dreams, called her back into his realm. Vidya had no choice but to follow his command...she fell back asleep with a small smile on her lips, feeling warm and safe, just like her platinum-haired double.
