Zasalamel whimpered until the loud, hurtful noise was shut off. He wiggled in discomfort on Cal's lap, and he put up no resistance when he was moved to the side; he would have done anything, just to be free of that noise.
But thankfully, the silence came. He shook his head when Cal told him he could find something else. For a moment, he just sat there, rubbing at his pointed ears...but then he yawned suddenly. Stretching his arms and legs out, he then relaxed limply against the man, using his lap as a pillow.
With one hand, he twisted a piece of hair around his index finger, and his other hand was clenched into a fist, and he was lightly chewing on his thumb. Though he looked rather sleepy all of a sudden, he still stared up at Cal with fascination; he didn't recall ever seeing someone with yellow hair before! Occassionally, his purple gaze would go to Raidne out of curiousity.
Of course, it wasn't long until he fell asleep, his eyes fluttering before they closed, his breathing becoming deep and even.
It was sometime after that when Neveah came back into the room, completely out of breath and carrying a rather heavy looking bookbag over her shoulder.
"I'm back...!" She said Breathlessly, glancing down at the slumbering Drow. "Not too much trouble, I hope?"

With that unshakable aplomb most small children seemed to possess, Zah settled himself in for a nap. No matter that Cal was a stranger. No matter that it was the middle of the day, or that the TV had threatened to burst eardrums only minutes before.
His amythest eyes fought to stay open awhile; apparently something in Cal's face intrigued him. Raidne he spared only occasional glances.
The little ghostling seethed. How dare he take her place in her papa's lap? She had no words, even in her mind, for the feeling of course; but still she wound fretted and half threw her wand in a noisy tantrum only Cal had the misfortune to be able to hear. Fortunately for Zah she lacked all strength; and instead of the spear flying at him as she'd wanted, it did nothing but somersault in the air before landing on her belly again.
She shrilled even higher in Cal's head as Zah's eyes closed at last. The kid didn't know how good he had it, the older man though, softly shushing Raidne aloud.
Nothing he did seemed to have any effect. Cal was nearly of the mind that he'd just have to wake the kid up and move him (rude, he knew, but still...) when the butterfly woman reappeared, blowing into the room like a summer storm.
Trouble, she asked? Actually, he supposed Zah himself hadn't been...
"Not at all," Cal responded brightly, though the alacrity with which he lifted the boy and offered him back to Neveah might have belied those words a bit. "I appreciate you getting the books for me, I really do."

Zasalamel, entirely worn out from everything, had happy dreams of cookies. He didn't even move when he was lifted.
"Not a problem; thanks for watching the spiderling for a bit." Neveah set the back down thankfully at Cal's feet, taking a moment to wipe her sweaty hands on her jeans and stretch her arms before she even thought to collect her slumbering charge. When she did, she hooked her hands under his arms and pulled him against her with a little grunt; for a thin toddler brat, he was kind of heavy...! She situated him to he sat straddling her left side, his head flopped on her collar.
"Poor kid. He tends to go go go until his body just shuts down on him. I don't think he knows the meaning of moderation. Or even voluntary naps." Neveah said softly with a shake of her head, reaching up with her free hand to comb Zah's messy hair over his closed eyes.
"Oh yeah. Those books...I think I wrote in a couple of them; but its mostly just modifications just for Zah. So if you see some, ignore them?"
