No, I mean they didnt show the short its counted as an episode, But they have been preatty good about showing the rest.

School Reunion was on tonight.

Loved it. Loved the fact that Anthony Stewart Head was in it. Loved Sara Jane Smith was in it, loved K-9...as did my b.f., who absolutly loves him no matter what.

My b.f. was in denial about k-9s "death" it was funny...he kept saying, no he's alive, and then the school blew up, and then when they showed him at the end, he jumped up off the carpet and yelled "I KNEW THE M.F.ER WAS ALIVE"

Bout died inside. The whole "Some things are worth getting your heart broken for." Thing made me want to cry though. In a weird way I relate to that.

But anywho, what did everyone else think.

I'm liking Mickey more and more. He's really grown as a person that he was able to swallow his pride and ask the Doctor for help. Also that bit in the shop when he jokes that she should stop eating the chips and Rose gives him this evil look. Aside from being hilarious, it shows that Mickey isn't really threatened by the Doctor anymore.

And then there was:
"I'm their technical support! I'm their Man in a van! I'm... Oh my God! I'm the tin dog! "

Got home late and only managed to catch the last 10 minutes (though I've seen it already, so I wasn't too upset about it). Nice to see K-9 go out with a bang. There's probably still room for Anthony Head's character to come back someday.

Rose is way too possessive of the Doctor. The look she had when Mickey asked to join them in the TARDIS at the end... gonk

yah, i was like...wow, thats your b.f. Seriously, i might joke and say mines a pain, but if i ever had to go thru time and space without him, i'd lose my mind, unless it was the fifth doc, cuz then i'd forget earth existed lol.

but no seriously, i realize the weren't exactly marriage material from the start, but she makes herself look like a real b***h with one little look.

seems more like she doesn't want to divide her attention then that she doesn't want the docs attention divided if you ask me.

I've always been of the opinion that Rose is a real twit when Mickey is involved. On the one hand, she really does care for him, but on the other, she sort of resents the demands that he makes on her. While Mickey had grown as a person, Rose hasn't been around for that, so they really don't know each other anymore. I mean, how much more long distance can you get?

Also, RTD sort of took a big step by showing Rose's relationships back on Earth. I can't think of another Companion who maintained family ties while on the TARDIS. Something like that is bound to cause problems with the folks.

Okay, so I just managed to see the first bit of Tooth and Claw and I have to say eek .

What is up with the Shaolin monestary in the middle of Scotland? I mean, seriously! They're even wearing saffron robes! Do they have a exchange program with Beijing?

Okay, The Girl in the Fireplace time!

I loved this episode. I think it contained everything that makes Doctor Who such a wonderful show. Clever dialogue, a nice mystery, compelling characters, a wee bit of angst, and the Doctor acting like a nutter. I'm also liking this tendancy to refer back to Season 1 ("Oh, look at what the cat dragged in! The Oncoming Storm!" and "D'you know, they'd never even seen a banana before; always take a banana to a party, Rose. Bananas are good.") Ten's manic energy is starting to remind me of Four, except I will say, with all love to Tom Baker, Ten is a bit foxier.

First, the interaction between Rose and Mickey was much improved over School Reunion. I thought Rose's odd look at the end of the episode was very out of place. The last thing we need is lover's spats on the TARDIS, and as I've said before, I think that Rose and Mickey have really moved beyond that stage. In fact, they act more like friends in the episode than anything else, and I hope it stays that way.

Speaking of which, yay for Mickey! After a season earth-bound, he finally gets full Companion privilages and a ride in the TARDIS. His reactions were spot-on ("It's so realistic!") and hilarious ("What's a horse doing on a spaceship?).

I just want to quote this whole episode. So many wonderful lines, so little time.

Girl in the Fireplace was one of my favorites from season 2, for many of the reasons mentioned by Star_Lily. It all ties up very nicely... even the "Rosebud" ending.

So, like, the Doctor was seriously considering nipping off a historically important person like Pompy to be his companion? You know the Doc's in love when he's willing to change the Earth's history for some girl...

The only thing I think could have been improved was those little spinning saws the clockwork automatons used. Would anyone seriously be intimidated by such a weak-looking weapon?

It made me cry to see him all sad because she died, but the over all episode was good. It was funny how he comes in drunk I think the whole "You're Mister Thick Thick Thicketty Thickface from Thicktown, Thickania" was funny.

Yea, I was sad too. My friend thought he had fallen in love with Reinette, but I think it cause she saw his past accidently(when he was doing that mind scan thingy) and saw how lonely he really was. I think he developed feeling for her cause she saw that, and not a lot of people really understand how lonely he truely is. D:

The Girl in the Fireplace is one of the most moving episodes of the Doctor I've seen. They did a wonderful job of balancing the drama with great one liners, and still having a bittersweet ending.

I now want a fireplace installed into my room b.t.w. just in case the Doctor is out there, and he needs one to duck into.

And as a side note, I want to hug Reinette really bad for some reason. That actress was amazing.

The Girl in the Fireplace was a truely beautiful episode. I think the Doctor really did grow to develop feelings for her Reinette. And I loved how they helped portray that love with Rose and Reinette and they're brief conversations. And when the Doctor choose to brake through the window knowing he wouldn't be able to go back, it really makes a statement. Especially when you look at Rose and how she just ignores Mickey, looking at the broken glass, running it all through her head. She knows he loves her and Reinette, but you can tell she's trying to accept the fact that he choose Reinette over her.

And that final conversation between the Doctor and the King made me want to cry. And she should have picked a star and wrote it in the letter! But, ah well.

I just loved this whole episode. It's not my favorite, but it's right up there. All the funny quirks and antics, like the "I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!" Ah! I loved it! rofl And all the stuff they brought back from the last season just made it classic. mrgreen

Those clockwork robot things were really creepy though. You could tell they were going for something like The Empty Child from season one. It wasn't as scary, but the creatures still gave me the heebe jeebies. sweatdrop

I was trying to figure out what those things were. They didn't look like razors, but what else were they supposed to be? I thought they looked more like combs than anything.

I suppose the Doctor figured he could have bring her back within a couple seconds of when they left, and no one would know. I mean, he must hit the place and time he's aiming at least once in a while.

Although, since we learned in Father's Day that every person is important, even the ordinary ones, really the Doctor's been mucking with Earth's history everytime he lands there.

I really liked that episode. I was a bit doubious on how Tennant would be, but I think he has added alot of depth in his first season.
