Rivath turned on a wing tip and flames the single clump, seanding hot care into his reiders face we flame the big one together? Rivath asked Nakoreth.

Good idea. Nakoreth relayed Rivath's message to K'makin, who agreed, and the brown began to dive after the falling clump.

Kara clung to the fighting straps and Rivath dived, her face grim and burning for little hot points of char. Rivath positisioned him self below and to the side of the thread and flamed.

Seeing Weith and Ryala having trouble, Berylaith and Kasira dove toward them, the slightly larger green not having as much trouble with the gusting winds. They came in toward the clump of thread from above and to the right, swooping over the other dragon and rider. Beryl spat out a burst of flame that got most of the clump and also called out a warning to Weith.

Thread, above you and to the left!

Kasira sent Beryl into a tight loop, ready to come around and help the other two some more if they needed it.

Catching the warning, Weith notified Ryala of this an instant before she took them between. Coming out behind the clump, the green dove toward it with a roar, searing it to black char, as Shimmer appeared to finish off what remained of another tangle.

Thanks Berylaith!! Weith said thankfully... and only then realized that it was raining. She also realized that some of the clumps weren't affected very much by the downpour, and popped between to one, attacking it with fiery breath.

Xaith was darting around, avoiding the thread clumps... all the ones from below had been pushed upwards and others were falling above.
"Xaith! Go between!" Gail yelled, terrified by being so close to the dazzling creature. Xaith had thus far kept from being seared.
No! I'll drop you! Was her terrified replay, where this came from she didn't know, but had a chilling feeling that perhaps, maybe she did know.
R'ign abruptly apeared and destroyed a past to Xaith's left, but the tangle grew and suddenly Garanth appeared. Xaith let out an indignant roar and popped between just as the bronze dove towards the tangle.
For a frozen moment Gail was aware of the pain from the riding straps digging into her clutched hand then she heard a snap then nothing, no sear pain, no sound, no...anything then they were back above, soaring over the third wing, she could see Garanth fly back to the top wing and it was all over.
She clutched at Xaith with her bloody hand and eased her grip on the left riding strap, the pressure she had been applying had snapped the leather in two. She breathed out harshly.
You didn't fall...
No love, I did not... Why did you think I would? Xaith would not answer, but instead dove at another clump. Perhaps, later, Gail would get a good reason out of her.

Weith says thanks, Beryl said to Kasira, dipping a wing to the other green in acknowledgemnt.

Kasira nodded and then blinked as a few raindrops hit her face. Good, maybe the rain will drown the rest...for now, see if Weith and Ryala want to team up and go after some of those clumps...

Beryl bugled her agreement and passed the query on to Weith.

Garanth held his flame till the last possible second, and released it just as Xaith dissappeared between. He shook his head from left to right, flaming as he went, clearing away the last of the offending thread. K'elt breathed a sigh of relief. *That was way too close! It looks like the worst is over my friend. Let's get back into position and mop up the last of this. At least the rain is finally proving useful.* Yes, we shall have no further problems with this fall...there has been too much already.

The pair climbed back to altitude, and finished the sweep with no further incidents. The number of dragons in the air was now far more than active thread. We are not going to be needed here any longer, so I am taking you back to the weyr. Time to have that arm looked at. *Don't worry, my friend, it is nothing. We should stay...* Garanth ignored him. Kerth, my rider has been threadscored and it seems to have taken away his common sense...with your leave I shall take him back to the Weyr...so, are you going to provide the image to get back, or shall I get that from Kerth as well??*stern tone* *All right, all right, I surrender...return when Kerth has cleared us and I will have this looked at.* Actually, K'elt would be glad to return to the weyr to have the arm tended, it felt worse than the worst burn he had ever had, and ached on top of that. He pictured the recall point above the weyr, and waited for the ok to return.

Kerth had helped Garanth clear up the Thread that had been surrounding Gail and Xaith, then winked between to move back into their position on the upper wing. The larger blue was taking the place of the browns that had been injured in the Fall. Mine, Garanth says that His is Threadscored. And that he wants to take His back to the Weyr.

R'ign sighed. They needed all the larger dragons there were, but it would be pointless with injured riders flying. Tell them to go. And I hope that K'elt is okay.

Kerth flamed a clump of Thread before them before responding back to the waiting bronze. You're clear to go and Mine wishes Yours well. The blue then turned his thoughts back to the Fall, only pausing once to speak to his rider. Perhaps I should take you back, Mine.

R'ign patted the blue's neck. I'm fine, love. It's only dislocated. The thing she didn't mention was that her right arm was now beginning to hurt from having to work twice as hard at keeping her on the blue's back.

Perhaps I should take you back. Glith is guarding her eggs, so there is no one to calm the injured dragons...

This Fall's almost over. I'll be fine and Garanth can help with the injured dragons as he's fine. R'ign smiled at her dragon, windburned cheeks hurting as they stretched. Over there! She indicated a nearby clump and the pair went back to work.

Mel chirps brightly as Xaith pops between and the clumps of thread are destroyed. Thoroughly enjoying herself, she zips around, hardly being affected by the wind for one so small. Keeping to the wake of the dragons, she lets out a proud croon, for having figured out how to avoid the wind as she flames loose threads into oblivion.

K'makin looked around for more thread, but the rain was falling too thickly for clear vision. I think we can go back in now, he suggests to Nakoreth. Any live Thread that hits the ground will drown in short order. Did you get scored?

No, I'm fine. You have a few small char burns though; won't you ever learn to duck?

Laughing sheepishly, Kya noticed that other dragons were winking between. Nakoreth, are we supposed to go to Fort, or can we go back home?

I'll ask.

After flying so long it came as a shock to see the trailing edge of thread start splashing into the sea. Kilra trilled sharply before whisking between, her job done.

((Crappy ending I know))

With a self-satisfied chirp seeing the Thread begin to fall into the ocean, Melyna sears a final loose thread and winks out.

Kerth gave a mighty sigh, hovering behind. He and R'ign watched as the Thread fell harmlessly into the sea, fishes gathering to eat the silvery stuff as it drowned in the salty water. Nakoreth wants to know where the Benden riders should go. Kerth passed the brown's comment along.

Hmm... Well, Fort is already set up for injured dragons and riders, so if they need tending, they could go there. Otherwise, they can just go on back to Benden. Be sure to thank them, love.

The blue then bespoke the Benden dragons. Mine says that you are all welcome at Fort if you are injured and she also thanks you for coming to Fort's aid.

Their job done, R'ign pictured the familiar sight of Fort and the two went between, heading towards home.

We can just go home, Nakoreth suggests. If they need to make any announcements, I'll hear it from Benden just as well as from Fort. That and I'm hungry and have to regurgitate soon.

K'makin makes a face. Just as long as you do it far away from me. Be sure to ask where the used firestone pit is located, don't go doing it in the weyr again! It took weeks to air out!

Nakoreth sends a mental chuckle.

Okay, let's head on back. Here's the reference, he locked the image of the Weyr from above into his mind's eye, and the brown jumped between.

Although he was prepared for it, the cold still stung shockingly on Kya's face. So far the char marks he'd gotten in previous Falls had healed without scars, but he knew such luck wouldn't last forever...

They were out.

(Edit: Oops, a bit longer than I meant. Moving half this post to Benden Weyr...)

We have been given leave to depart for the weyr...here we go. Garanth took the image of the recall point from K'elts mind and jumped between...
