Nakawa's spotted tail swayed slowly as he waited for Paki's answer. He was the only other cub he really even got to talk to besides his sister and he now dubbed him his best friend, for now at least.
"Wait I think we're supposed to..." He began to answer his question when suddenly a cream colored paw batted the end of his nose. He pulled his head back in shock for a moment. Then as it settled in quickly, he glanced back to his sister with a bit of concern. "... stick together?" He finished his sentence late. If he followed Paki it would be his first time disobeying an adult's direct orders and for that moment he wasn't quite sure if he could, he glanced back to where Paki had disappeared in-between the legs of other lions... He couldn't get in trouble if he didn't get caught right? Finally with an idea he felt comfortable with he began clumsily racing to catch up with his cream colored friend, bumping into a few lions along the way. "Wait for me..." He giggled as he spoke out as loudly as he could in his soft voice, wanting to catch sight of Paki again.

Chamiyu followed Mteuli's green gaze with excited blue eyes of her own, "The Great Divide, it sounds like such a scary thing! I deeply hope that nothing like that ever happens again. But, if it does, I know the unity of these families, of this pride, will pull through in the end, like they've done before. Who are from the old bloodlines, my love?"

Twisting in and out of other lions legs, Paki bounced off of one and rubbed the top of his head a little, crossing his unseeing eyes in shock as he grunted from the force. "Oh sorry!"
That was all he said as he bounced a little away again, sniffing around and smelling Nakawa get a little closer. His nephew was closer than he thought of course, much much closer. But all the same it was a fun game. So Paki couldn't play tag or run around with others.
The gods be that he woudln't stop trying to play at least. It was too much fun to play, even being blind. ninja

Nakawa followed behind and began to notice Paki's trouble. It hadn't occured to him yet that Paki was blind but maybe just a bit near-sighted. He slowed a bit as he followed wondering if there was a better game they could play but he quickly sped up as his eyes brightened with an idea.
When he became close enough his eyes sparked again and he playfully pounced onto Paki. Still pinning him down Nakawa tugged on his ear a bit to get his attention before he began to whisper his idea. "I've got an idea for an even better game but you have to listen closely. It's like we play hide and seek but when you are it you keep your eyes closed and say where? lots of times and as loudly as you can. Then I ,who is hiding, says There! and you find me by following my voice. Once you find me you tackle me and it's my turn!" He squeaked with delight and rolled off of him so he could take in his amazing idea.

((If you want, have your lion/ess talk directly to Kauta as she passes by. xD; ))
Kauta rested her head on Mteule's paw for a while, before the area began filling with lions and lionesses, cubs and adolescents. Before long she began mingling with them, greeting some, idly making small-talk with others.
What with the very recent developments, she somehow thought she might be uncomfortable with the crowd of lions, even though she'd been in a multitude of moon festivals. She realized now how foolish she'd been; how could she be uncomfortable with the pride she'd known since cubhood?

"I like that idea!" Paki crowed and poked the end of Nakawa's nose with his paw gently. "You go first, that way I know what we're doing." He smiled and sniffed in deeply once before putting both paws on his nephew's shoulders. "Well, give me one second to do something and THEN you go first."
Winking his blind eye at Nakawa brightly, Paki trotted through the legs up to the scent of the queen. He'd smelled it before though not as strong, he liked her scent it was pretty. "Um..." The small cub pulled out the clover from behind his ear and held it up for Kauta. "Th-this is for you Miss Kauta." He said in a shaky voice, putting it down on the ground before her and skittering back to Nakawa from embarrassment.
"Okay! You're it!" He said brightly, bumping his shoulder agianst Nakawa's when he found it and closing his eyes in a bright and very happy smile. ninja

Mteuli shivered slightly. He had been born into the Great Divide and it's aftermath...and had had the "pleasure" at working with the pride to recover from it. It was not something he would ever with to repete. Never. "I would hope, dearest, that we would have learned our lesson and such a thing will never, ever happen again," He agreed, his voice thick with feeling. Anyone else who had been born into the Divide would share his feelings. But right now...there was so much new life in the pride it was hard not to be happy. He dawned a smile again and looked around at the gathered lions, "Well...Matifu, Tanashita, and Zumaridi are part of the old bloodlines. That means all of Tanashita and Matifu's children are as well...as are Tanashita's grandchildren."

(occ: ;-; I'm sorry for dissapearing....)
Had it been that long? The adolescent stepped down the path he weaved through the foliage as his rounded ears perked at the sounds voices. Shemshi inhaled the aroma of fresh kill from where the gathering took place. His steps were hesitant and his heart rapidly thumped under his breast. He paused and remained amongst the shadows. He longed to join them but would they accept him back?
He wanted to run into the crowd saying Hey look! It's me, I'm back! Hey, did you miss me? But pushed the childish behavior to the side. Black orb like eyes scanned the area for his mother Ayasha. He soon realized that she was not amongst the others. Worry sank deep into his heart, but he scanned the crowd again hoping to find comfort in a famaliar face. Mteuli. He took a soft breath of relief and then recognized several others.
He finally stepped forward letting the skylight wash over him, it revealed just how much he had changed since his dissapearence. He lost most of his 'cubbish' features including his lean frame which was now more heavily built. His head gently curved in to reveal a roman nose, which gave subtle hints of stubborness. He looked at the lions gathered lost in conversation and took a few more uncertain steps torwards them.

Mteuli was looking around at the gathering, since the conversation had sparked my to take in the sight of everyone there. When someone new came out of the trees, however...he felt his heart leap into his throat. He felt as if he had just seen a ghost, which wasn't the case at all since he had never assumed Aysaha's young cub to be dead. When his shock had settled he quickly broke into a warm smile, his heart lifting as if it had wings. When Shemshi had disappeared it had been a cloud over them all due to the pride's close nature. To see him back...and grown so well was joyful indeed. He slipped onto his paws, moving away from his mate for the moment to hurry and great him once more. "Shemshi," He rumbled as he drew to stand in front of him, "Welcome home."

((omg how cute! XD <3 I think I'll get a necklace or something done of it from the items shop, heart ))
"Hello Paki," Kauta greeted the cub warmly as he stepped up to her. He looked to be nervous, embarassed perhaps, and she gave him an encouraging smile. Surprised etched its way onto her features as he presented her with the four-leaf clover; she hadn't expected it, and as small as it was, the gesture was touching. "Why thank you!..." but Paki had already skittered away, and Kauta wasn't sure whether he'd heard her or not.
By chance she happened to look up, away from Paki's fleeing form, and her eyes settled on a figure she hadn't expected to see again. "...Shemshi?"
She couldn't remember if she'd been a juvenile or adolescent the last time she'd seen him.

Shemshi lowered his head in shame when Mteuli said his name. His heart thumped so loud in his ears he felt anyone could hear him, it seemed that all eyes were burning a hole through him. He almost cowered as if he were in trouble. He heard the words that Mteuli spoke, but in a way he almost felt unworthy. Then his name again, this time questioning as if he weren't real. He knew at that moment that it was Princess Kauta, now Queen. They wouldn't understand.....
He raised his head and looked her in the eye for one second before quickly bowing his head in respect of rank. He wished he hadn't showed himself from the shadows at this moment. Right now he wanted to find a rock and hide underneath it. But what was done was done. And now another question began to gnaw at his heart. He raised his eyes to meet Mteuli, who he trusted more than any other. "My... mother, where is she?" He asked gently.

"Want me to go first?" Nakawa giggled not exactly sure which part he was soposed to play, "Ok, I'll hide and you come to find me in a second. If you need a clue just ask me Where? and be sure not to peek!" Giggling again with pure enjoyment of having someone to play with besides his sister, he raced into the crowd of lions. As he began dodging though the legs again, he looked around and realized how few places there were to hide without jumping into the middle of a conversation. That was one of the last things Nakawa wanted to do, meet new lions.
He escaped the crowd and headed towards the lake, hoping he wasn't too far from Paki to hear him. He had gotten a bit turned around in the crowd of adults. "There!" He shouted as loud as he could in his soft voice just incase his uncle had already called. His hiding spot was quite nice, in the grasses on the edge of the lake, so he could admire all the things that had been gathered for that evenings festival, while he waited to be found.

The joy that had filled Mteuli at the sight of the young lion soon trickled away like water slipping down a leaf. His eyes saddened and it took all his control to keep a heavy sigh from racking through his body. He didn't not pull his gaze away from Shemshi as she spoke, his voice mournful and sympathetic, "She's not...here. She left not long after you disappeared." He wished somehow he had better news to give him, especially since his return should be a happy event. But his mother was gone and that was a fact he could not deny.

Hearing the words yelled out, Paki lifted his dark ears and swivvled his head about in an attempt to try and find his nephew in the crowd of lions from all over. He'd let the "and be sure not to peek" comment slide, since not all of his family knew he was completely blind yet, sort of like Nitesh. But Paki was also laid back about his disability and didn't feel like it was that big a problem that he couldn't see. After all, he could see with his nose and with his fur and his sense of touch.
Sniffing deeply and calling out "Where?!" Paki started trotting slowly towards the direction that he could smell Nakawa in. ninja

"There!" Nakawa called back and giggled hoping he had found a good hiding spot. It was pretty, that he could tell. He took a step closer to the lake. There was a waterfall in the distance and offerings on the shores just to the left of him.
The waterfall was what had him most intrigued though, he was in awe of its magnificent beauty and the way it mysteriously kept falling. He took another step closer but this time without looking, his paws landed in slippery mud and his fore body slid right into the water.
He squealed but it was too late and his face was already in the lake. Luckily he still held onto the stronger ground by his hind legs. With a little bit of scrabbling with his forepaws he was able to push himself out of the water but he was still stuck on the muddy little slope. His once fluffy fur clung to his face. "Paki. Here..." His voice was soft again and he shook slightly from the cold water and hoped Paki found him soon. Maybe he could help... It hadn't completely occurred to Nakawa that Paki was blind, poor sighted maybe but not blind. Not that he would care either way but Nakawa often had trouble seeing the bad in the world including disabilities that might hinder others.
