Aricia returned the grin, although hers resembled much like a cat's instead of a fox's. With another quaky lift and drop of the foot, her steps became more confident, her grin becoming wider, until it seemed she would start disappearing like the Cheshire Cat. For who else could summon up a grin so big?
She laughed.
Kierla returned to reality at the laugh; then she indulged the company with a full-blown smile. That was rare.
"Why, Aricia, you've walked all the way back to our house!" she said in an overly cheerful tone. Actually, their home was a little farther on, but she knew it would make the arrogant little girl happier. She kneeled down next to the two children and patted Xtol on the head. "Thank you for being her most intelligent teacher."
Then, with a final farewell and thank you to Airaka as well, she picked up her pegasus daughter and started for home.

Xtol would have just about bit at Kierla's hand, if Airaka hadn't tugged on his tail, causing the boy to fall to the ground. He raised his arms, waving good bye to Aricia, watching them leave out of view. Tilting his head, he attempted giggling, as Aricia had done, but only ending up gurgling.
Airaka, on the other hand, succeded in giggling, and let go of the boy's tail. "So... Let's go home. We'll see them again, I bet. Plus... I gotta put ice on this wound." She raised a finger, pointing to her forehead. In responce, Xtol stuck out his lower lip, and looked at her with his bright yellow eyes, seeming very innocent. "Oh you rat!" she proclaimed in a gleeful voice, getting back to her feet.
Xtol followed her, getting to his unbalanced feet as well. He tapped his barefoot toes with his wand, then padded after Airaka, heading in the opposite direction of their two new friends.
