The child grinned and wriggled as his hair was mussed. "Yay! Mooommmmmyyyy!"
Youko chuckled. He liked Artemus! At Crelye's call, the silver fox cringed. "Yes baby?"

Artemus smiled and shifted slightly so that Crelye wouldn't fall. "Maybe I can teach you about reading too," he suggested, partly to himself too.

Crelye paused and looked up at Artemus. "Reading? What's reading?" Then it dawned on him. "OH! Mommy and Daddy read! They read stuff with pictures th-"
Youko groaned. "Crel! You're not supposed to know about THAT!" Damn, he would have to find better hiding places for his... stuff.

Artemus wasn't sure if he should laugh or be shocked. So far, laughter was winning as he tried to hide his chuckles. "Reading without pictures, I don't know if we have any children books here right now, but we could go and find some.
Not reading anything like your parents' books though." After that, his laughter burst out.

The child blinked, lost. "What? Why not? You like 'em! And Daddy does too! Especially whe-"
"I don't think Artemus needs to know the details!" Youko quickly said, covering up anything Crelye was going to say.
Procyon just laughed darkly up at his mommy. Ooohhh... Someone was going to be in trooouubbblllee!

Artemus couldn't stop laughing for a long while, when he finally caught his breath he ruffled Crelye's hair. "Different people have different tastes, I prefer reading books without pictures myself." His sentences were punctuated with small laughs or chuckles.
"Perhaps its time to find a high safe spot Youko?" he teased.

Crelye looked up at Artemus and grinned innocently, having no idea what was so wrong. "Are they better?" he asked simply.
The silver fox was fighting to hide a blush. "Yeah... I suppose so. Or maybe just have Sirius magic up a safe spot... AND SHUSH!"
Procyon immediately went quiet. Or at least for a few seconds, then resumed his knowing laugh.

Artemus' eyes glinted slightly. "If you keep laughing like that Procyon, I'll lock you up in the book room with no food and clothes duct-taped to you."
Artemus nodded, "They're harder to read at first, but they are a lot better."
"That may be a good idea." He eyed Procyon warily.

Well THAT got Procyon to shut up. Not only that, but it got him to actually look scared. Books? Clothes and duct tape? Oh the horror!
"I wanna read those! Can you teach me, please? Pretty please?" Crelye begged, clinging to Artemus again.
Youko groaned. Man... He had a lot to discuss with Sirius. A LOT.

Artemus grinned. "Of course. It'll be hard at first, it was for me anyway." He should go out and get a picture book for Crelye next time he went out.
"Why do you hate clothes Procyon?" he asked curiously.

"Yay! I'm gonna learn to read! Did you hear that Mommy?" Crelye rejoiced, resuming his wriggling and bouncing.
"Yes, yes I heard, Crel." Youko replied with a smile.
Procyon pouted. "Because they ITCH. Really, really bad!"
"Hey, I washed them a lot for you, they shouldn't itch!" Youko argued.

Artemus tapped his chin. "It might be because of the material, or age of the clothes."
Artemus placed an arm around Crelye, just to prevent him from falling down. He smiled slightly at his antics, and was somwhat pleased that Crelye was so eager to learn how to read.

Procyon pouted, figeting. "Dunno... But I don't like them!" About the only thing he'd wear was boxers. And even that was pushing it at times...
Crelye growled happily, wagging his tail. "I get to reeeeaaaaaddddd!"

Artemus grinned wickedly for a moment. "Need a flea collar so they don't itch?" he asked, his eyes laughing.
He chuckled and continued to hold onto Crelye. "Yes, I'm going to go and pick out some easier books. The only ones inside Sanctuary are novels, they're much harder."

"Flea collar?" Procyon repeated, not really understanding. At least not at first. Then he giggled darkly. "Maaayybbee!"
"What are novels?" Crelye asked, looking up at Artemus as he clung to the fox. So many new things!
