Actually the article is about 2-3 years old. Just none of you would have 'scene' (see what I did there?) it because its in a local paper for Liverpool in England.

Just today my mum came with me shopping for cd's and picked up a Blink 182 Cd stashed in the 'Emo/Punk/Hardcore' section, and said (in all seriousness),
"God, Blink? They're so wannabe non-conformist."

I wasn't sure whether to laught or cry.

wow. that just made me laugh out loud.

I find it funny that my mom is still convinced that my skull vans are "like, creepy goth honey... people will judge you if you wear those."
REALLY MOM? NO s**t.
i love how she thinks everything mildly dark is "gothic."
when i tell her my shoes are not, she goes "oh, well its gothic enough for me. *ditzy laugh* "

I've just realized.
Thats a retarded statement.
The fact the 'emo' that the artcile is speaking of is for emo kids from 1996 to now.
But, however it doesn't bring up any of the things from 1983 to 1996.
The fact is, Emo isn't new, and everyone thinks it is.
Whoever wrote that paper needs to do there research.
