I would say Steve Young. Aikman had a running game that was magnificent...Young didn't have that.

troy aikman was good but steve played all those years behind montana so who knows how good he would have been. and troy had all those concussions becuase he wasn't very mobile while steve could run for first downs if nobody was open. plus aikman had that great supporting cast.

I'd have to say Young.... Aikman was a good player, but he didn't really try to rush for yards, and he got injured alot because he wasn't the most agile..

Steve Young. But not by much. Aikman had a better team overall where Young did not have as good of a team. Aikman could not take a hit for the life of him where Young when he had to would take the hit so his team could succeed.

wow...who brought back this old topic...?
I'm undecided.
Steve Young is the NFL career leader in passer rating. He also was good both in and out of the pocket. He is a winner, and could keep crucial drives alive.
Aikman was a great QB, and had a killer arm. He is a natural born leader, and won big games. He rallied around a great team, and is known as one of the best.
...And post career, I like Aikman much more than Young as an commentator/analyst.
