Odyss continued on in silence. ears twisting every other way for sounds. consentrating on where they where going, it was very important to keep a map in his head. even he would not enjoy getting lost in the dark.
after they had walked for a while, he paused "wait" he whisperd, ears perking forward "listen" he said even lower.
it was very small, but a sound could be heard, sniffleing, and shifting, Odyss frowned slightly trying to make out what it could be. but he didn't recognize it.

Enoa stopped in her tracks and her ears shot up and twitched almost violently to catch the smallest sound. Nose wrinkled for a second as a small, but foul oder reached her nose. "It smells..." she whispered dryly. She continued to listen, but like Odyss, she had no idea what it could be, but its movements were dry, a little scratchy, over the stone of the temply ground.

"its been here a while if it smells like that" he whisperd to her, backing up slightly as he heard the noise getting closer.
it seems to clarrter loudly then a dull thud... then nothing "I beleave its time to-"
then all at once there was a loud wailing as if of a very small child.

Ears quickly flicked back at the wailing that pierced the silence and echoed off the surrounding walls. Eyes widend in the darkness and all fear that may have been in her body turned to intese curiosity.
"I want to know what it is... it doesn't sound threatening." She hissed and crept forward. The strange smell became musky and...well, more odd. What on earth was this creature making such a loud sound? Perhaps it was some raccoon or animal...?

Odyss remained where he was, listening as Enoa moved forward. “Careful” he said in such a soft voice, it was hard to make out what he said.
The sound seemed to die down.
For a moment there was silence, then all at once there was a light clatter of hooves and something small crashed into Enoa’s chest. Toppling back and starting to wail again “NO DA MONSTEWR EAT ME!!”

The impact with what ever it was caused the freckled Malu to yelp then fly five feet in the air. Upon landing, Enoa was a split second away from running, however when she heard "it" start yelling and crying again, she paused.
"What the....? Who are you?!" She asked, creeping back to where she had been just moments before the collission.

Odyss lowered his ears onto his head, crouching down a little as he heard the sound.
The little voice paused, sniffling again.
“You… you no monster?” it asked weakly.
Odyss stepped forward a couple of times. Stopping then he brushed Enoa’s side, squinting forward.

One ear moved forward while the other twitched to the side as she felt something, which she assumed to be Odyss, brush her.
"Of course I am not a monster!" Enoa replied as if it was the dumbest thing she had ever heard.
"But who are you?"

there was a moment of silence as the figure sniffed. then said quietly "Ima Gabriel... dats me"
it walked forward a little bit, bumping into her lightly again, but not backing away
"you nota monster..." he whimperd "Iz dark in here"
Odyss blinked and turned toward where Enoa was "he's been lost in here?"

"I guess so," she replied towards Odyss before focusing her attention back on the thing that was now called Gabriel, apparently.
"How long have you been down here?"

“Alone… for… long” he whimpered again.
Odyss honestly didn’t want to turn back just yet. But with the distraction being cause, he was worried he would lose the map in his head.
“Let get him out of here” he said quietly to Enoa, turning to start back but waiting to hear them following
“y you leave?” the young one cried in a weak voice

Enoa nodded and turned to follow Odyss. Lookng over her shoulder, though, she spoke, "yes, we are leaving, but you need to follow. Hurry up, too." With that she nudged Odyss as an indication to start moving.

"oh" the voice said, sounding normal sudenly. with another sniff it followed after them uneasily. bumping into either Enoa or Odyss as it went.
"yous Big" it would say every time it did that,
Odyss grinned a little, mindly amused by it.
though he kept quiet, and continued on after Enoa and nudged him to move.
finaly reaching the steps where they could see more light, he glanced back at the small Malu following them. seeing his body was splaterd in bloches of mud, and he was wet from being under there for a while. "we should probably get him cleaned up" he mutterd

Enoa moved more into the light before she responded.
Looking down at the "monster" she raised a brow. "Uh...definitely washing him. He smells, too." Looking up she began to move again.
"The fountain should be a good enough place."

Odyss moved up the steps slow enough for the other to follow them.
The young infant following with a skip in his step humming happily as he looked around the bright world.
"There is one close by" he said to Enoa.
He paused and glanced back at her “though… I’ve never bathed a baby before… maybe we should let Vivaldi do this…”
