Hey, he's stll beter than that monkay in a monkey suit they bought into the whitehouse now... No president has ever been perfect. Even Lincoln infringed on peoples rights, but he got the job done and won more rights for all. Untill the Union troops left of course...

yeah, and for some reason, every president is revered no matter what they do! That is one part of America that I will never understand, we love our political leaders as much/little as you but we can still admot when one of them was a complete and total ******** up. In all honesty, our countries are tied together weather we like it or not so even though he's not technically running my country, our leader is essentially his b***h so... rolleyes

No, not every president is reveared. We just have an amazing nack to forgett that which makes us look bad. Or, we overlook all the flaws... even if the whole thing was a flaw. Yeah, I kind of think america needs to take another look at this whole "democracy" thing though.

I find it ironic that we were talking about old president being revered and then Gerald Ford died. I think he was one of the good, albeit stupid, persidents, no? I could have him confused with another one confused

Yes, he was good, but bit slow if I'm correct. However, he didn't do all that much. Still, he's beter than the previous pesident who bit the bucket. Regan got to much ficking attention for being such a b*****d when he was alive... I can't believe the republicans compared him to Lincoln, NO ONE IS AS GOOD AS LINCOLN!

yeah Lincoln is a pretty good guy but he wasn't all sunshine and happiness. Most of his indiscretions and bad choices were forgotten because he was assasinated. It's a suprisingly common occurance with presidents who were murdered. Like in that play "Assasins".

Still, he did the job with minimal error. I can go on a HUGE tirade about how despite doing some iffy things, how he was an excelent president; but I'll resist.
You should read the book Assasination Vacation then!

Oh I'm not saying he wasn't great, but people have a tendancy to forget the misadventures of their figureheads. We do the Same thing with Pierre Elliot Trudeau, almost all the things he did were controversial and he would have been a disgrace if they hadn;t worked. Luckily, he accomplished amazing things for Canada and repatriated the Canadian constitution so all the "un prime minister" like things he did were ok.

Well I suppose remembering old figureheads has got the same feel as a funeral; nobody wants to talk about the bad things, only the things that made them great and memorable.

yeah, we do the same with Brian Mulroney and the Conservative Party...that and we make fun of his hilariously big jawline and dimpled chin.
wait, I forgot to mention we blame the Bloq Quebecois a little xp but we still love Québec.

I'm going to be brutaly honest, in america they don't teach us about anyone except (some) of our own leaders and the people they met with during wars.
Lord, what does that say about us.
