Varlan snorted angrily and just walked away, no longer wanting to knock him over again as he rested by the wagon, keeping in the shade.

DeArca turned, in the middle of cooking a stew and smiled. "Ash, leave Varlan alone, buddy. he seems to be in a bit of a mood. It'll be ok!" He called.
Ash squeaked and jumped off the logs, searching the grass for something interesting. Maybe he would find a grasshopper and chase it.

Varlan watched Ash sniff around and then got up, wanting to see what he could find out there in the grass. Maybe it would be a berry or something good he could eat.

Ash didn't find any berries, but he did follow a line of ants to their hoe and then a beetle. He was having a bunch of good fun and he didn't notice Varlan at all.
"Lunch time guys! Hey Varlan, no need to be worrying because Oqaia will be back in just a few hours. You've been a big help with the wood.

Varlan turned and returned to the wagon to rest while he laid over. He did want her to come back so he can be with her...but until then he was stuck. he wasn't hingry at all since he had some grass earlier, but maybe a few nibbles wouldn't hurt?

DeArca poured himself a bowl of fresh stew and left one for Varlan and one of Ash. Sitting back, he looked up at the sky a few moments and thought. Its still on my mind about what the Tell Book told me. When am I gonna know about Illyana? What's gonna happen? He thought
Ash followed the scent of stew as he crawled towards his bowl and began to lick the delicious juice of the stew and nibbled at the bits of meat.

Varlan sniffed at his stew and took a few chomps. Afterwards he went to sleep.

Ash looked at Varlan and crawled over to him, climbing on him as he slept too.
DeArca smiled at them and leaned back against his wagon's wheel. Varlan's alright...Ash likes him and Varlan did good work. He's gonna grow up tough, alright He thought, turning to his wood block as he began chipping it into a new shape.

Near sunset, Oqaia returned to the campsite, seeing DeArca as she smiled to him. "Thank you so much, DeArca. Sorry that I took so long" She said, crouching down, seeing Varlan asleep. "He's sleeping. Must've been busy today" She smiled.

DeArca turned and smiled to her as he nodded. "Yeah. He was a big help carrying wood up the hill. I'll send some over to your wagon soon. Maybe tomorrow!" He smiled
Ash looked up at Oqaia and squeaked as he went back to sleep on Varlan.

Oqaia smiled and nodded as she stood back up. "DeArca, could Varlan spend the night? I can be back in the morning for the wood! I'll take him home then so you don't have to go to the trouble!" She asked

DeArca looked down at Varlan a moment and back up at Oqaia and nodded. "He can stay the night. Its no problem. And I'll still deliver the wood" He smiled to her and then took her hand. "Come on! I'll take you to your wagon!"

Oqaia smiled, nodding as she walked with him and looked up at the sky. "Don't worry, DeArca. Answers will come to you. Maybe the Meij will show you..." She smiled at him.

"I hope so, Oqaia. I really hope so..." DeArca said, leaving his campsite, entering Oqaia's. What a wonderful day it has been...a true adventure in Babysitting.
