Leradien had hopped for a warmer greeting than what was given. Gaara seemed especially cold, much different from the pup he used to be. True, young Gaara was always troubled but Lera had acted like a mother, cooing gentle to him and distilling his problems. Perhaps that bond was broken now. Her tail hung, her body acting limp in a non threatening stance. Yet she dared to look the approaching new alpha in the eyes. He was lord of this group, but she was still his elder. "What is the matter Gaara? Have you forgotten how to greet an old friend?" she said grimly, was a small smile placed upon her visage. Her homor tried to lighten the situation, but her words appeared dark and mournful.

It was then Lexi approached. Gaara's mate and the other alpha of this rougish band that had slipped away from the main pack. But she could not blame them, her pack was starting to falter. The younger scarred female began to talk of her daughter, nile. Lera knew she had left, her mind always active in the area. "I know," she responded, "I hold great faith in my daughter." Lera gave a look to nile, her golden eyes filled with the utmost pride. How she had grown, sienna fur now healthy and bright, her body youthful and strong. Yet admist those eyes there was a melancholy emotion. Nile would be the second to leave. One by one her children were leaving and this made Lera very lonesome. She wished that she could keep them forever, timeless frames captured when they were tiny balls of fur nursing at her side. How she missed their warmth, their comfort. It was then she felt Nile's mind reach out. Yes, My daughter? she replied, her mental voice fluid and powerful like water.

Lera was so caught up in the wolevs that she had failed to even recognize the humans. Sure, she knew they were there, but she disregarded them. Only after did she give them a glance, a flash of metallic eyes which came to rest upon the youngest human, Hinto, and continued to stare for many seconds.

Bristling a bit, he would step further in front of their pack..humans and all. "Afternoon." He replied dryly at her comment..not taking the humor at all. No, he wasn't one to take things lightly...she may have cooed and cared for him as a pup...but even she, a motherly figure, would not replace his -true- mother. Or, even, Loki, for that matter. She would not be replaced. He didn't want another -replacement-. It was beginning to ache too much.

Narrowing his emerald irises a bit, he canted his head, slowly stepping before Hinto...cutting off the gaze of the human boy. He frowned deeply, and lifted his head a bit more...he was a proud wolf, anyone could see that...he didn't want to be babied, not after all that had happened...

Lera may not take the place of his mother...and Loki...she was a friend, but he was too proud to say anything more...Haku--he was not his father. Nor could he take the place of Feanaro, sadly. His true father had disowned him...used him and manipulated him. Feanaro took him in...cared for him, made sure he was safe and fed...even after Loki had left him. Now, he had come back as that...father figure, and he doubted Feanaro would let their alliance fall.

"-May- I ask why you have followed us?" His tone was low...dry, lack of emotion keeping her from reading the worry...hopefully.

M'sorry. Was all she could think of to say, lowering her head to the ground further...submissive to both her mother, and the two alphas before her. They were both protective...very protective. She felt accepted, and that's what she really needed.

I want to stay with them, she added, a light hint of a smile in her voice, and eyes.

Rune eyed the new female for a bit, walking calmly in behind Gaara as the large male came onto the scene. The pup was terribly strange in coloration and pattern for a wolf. A stormwind grey dominated much of his pelt but the licks of a royal blue around his back, neck, and face in most curious almost planned arrangements. A set of stylized white wings spread open accross his chest and arms encircling three blue orbs. Runic patterns licked his shoulders and paws, their meanings unknown to even him but they fetched the pattern scheme on him well enough. His brilliant aqua green eyes blazed out from a mask of black that ran down his snout to encircle another brighter blue colored shape.

He had a critiacl look about him, quiet inquiry with every glance, he took everything in and summerized the situation based on what he saw. The grey female with the haunting eyes must have been an outsider to the pack- based on the large male's reaction she wasn't friend or foe. A bit of sarcasm in his tone made it obvious that though he knew her, she certainly wasn't welcome. The scarred female must have been his alpha female- she stood in a stance of authority and didn't seem to care much for the haunting female either. The little one seemed almost ashamed, less insulted by the presence of the new wolf but not thrilled either. The humans- they were a bit harder to read. One was large and looked quite intimidating to a wolf his size. One eye a creamy blue color- like his blinded teacher's had been. He seemed unsettled by the wolf as well... humans in a pack, he'd never thought it possible. The other, small and curious looking- his eyes were both the creamy blue color and moved about curiously enough.

For the moment, the matter didn't call much for his attention. Cautiously he began sniffing at the larger human, his ears perked forward and tail held level behind him. What a strange scent he had about him.

Hinto reached out and found the back of Bran's shirt, holding it tightly so he'd know that he was close to him. Bran seemed tense, he never did like the witch wolf much... the wolf seemed nice to him when he had met her, allowing him to rest on her side and play with the puppies. Bran had told him that she had treated him rather crudely when he'd first met the pack during a winter storm. Hinto personally had mixed feelings on the situtaion. Bran was like a father to him now. The boy had been seperated from his tribe after meeting a girl who believed she'd been a wolf. Wolves had carried him from any area that was firmilar to him and being blind he had no way of describing how to get back to his tribe. He'd no real reason to return anyhow. His father had been called by the river and his mother had fallen quite ill and had been dying when he left. He'd have to be cared for by his uncle who was not known for his kindness.

The boy listened to everything, his empty eyes moving from one source of sound to the other. Bran had his bow out, pulled back and ready to fire if something went wrong. The wolves didn't sound angry but they didn't seem all that happy either. He could almost feel the chilling eyes of the other wolf on him, it made him a bit uncomfortable. With all Bran said about the witch wolf it was hard not to consider it with her so close by. "...Don't shoot unless she's being bad, Bran..."

"I won't..." Bran growls tensely, without releasing his grip on the bow. The new arival, the wolf that arrives behind Hakan...if Lera is a witch wolf, this thing must be a spirit wolf of some kind, so striking and unusual are it's markings that he draws in a quiet breath, stilling as the pup aproaches and begins to examine him. He would reach down to take Hinto's clinging hand, but with the WitchWolf here, he doesn't dare let his bow down, as from everything he's seen, she's both dangerous and mad.

"She's probably come to try and shame us into coming back. She came alone, thats all she can try and do." Lexi snorts slightly. "It was her mate I asked to teach me how to be an alpha, not her, neither will I ask her permission to leave it. I say we go, Gaara. Nile is OUR pack now. No one else has any claim on her."

((Well apparently Otsune has said that Lera's left this area, since she didn't take the time to put in a closing to her being here I'm gonna think up something so we can move on. ))
The conversation hadn't been long between the wolf with the haunting eyes and the others. For one, the massive brown wolf and his scarred mate didn't seem very comfortable with the female's presence. The human adult-at least he had to assume it was an adult, he was terribly larger than the fully blind one and had much thicker limbs- espcially seemed angry with the wolf's presence. He spoke in what sounded like human growling, he had that large crecent thing out with what looked like a stone-tipped stick on it. How humans fought no doubt, his elder had mentioned that they use devces that shoot out sharpened twigs and others that shot fire and stone with a sound like thunder. They were mysterious creatures but if all that was true, they were powerful and well worth the fear that his pack had for them. However, his elder had told him tales of the older days when wolves and the humans lived to respect eachother. It seems as though he might have stumbled upon one of the packs of both man and wolf. Either way, the haunting unwelcome female had taken her leave and the others seemed to be more at ease.

Of course with the potential threat that the female brought gone, the next matter at hand would be his arrival. A new wolf- perhaps they'd allow him into the pack, perhaps not. He hoped that if not they'd at least allow a few days of rest for him. It had been a long walk, especially for the clumsily short legs of a young pup.

The wolf turned to the others, eyeing the human right back, he seemed to be studying him, if a wolf could have an opinion of a human's expressions he looked a bit confused. To the human, he might look a bit confused himself.

Hinto kept his hold on Bran, moving to stand just behind him, his feeling stick held up from the ground in a kind of defensive position, crossing over his exposed side in case one of the angry wolves bumped into him. He'd not think they'd turn on him, not right away anyway. But if a fight broke out they might toss another one onto him and Bran. Either way, it wouldn't be pleasent.

The angry sounds faded back to the normal breathing of the wolves, the groaning of Bran's bow, and the sound of badded feet on the ground. "..Did the witch wolf go away?"

[] e__-; I heard from Kou that Lera had left...I'm sorry, but Lera isn't welcome to follow them...It's taking too long for you to post, and that's holding up the move...we have to get to the pack lands.

If Lera wants to come when they reach the lands--that's fine. But they're still moving. So have Lera back out, soon, or Gaara will not take it. Especially with a new pup here.

If Lera knows Gaara personally, as she seems to, she should know he's troubled and not very trusting at all.

Dont take this personally. I'm only thinking of the pack's movements right now. []

((ooc: I had also been given the same impression about your departure, and thus intended to move on accordingly. You may proceede as you see fit, since you are well aware of Lexi and Gaara's temperments, and are familiar with their ability and tendensy to act in tandem. ))

"No not yet..." Bran answers, as the other wolves, still bristling and posturing faintly, start to move away from the witchwolf, he moves backward, after them. "Stick close to me..." He glances between Leera and the strange puppy that followed Hakkan back, wondering if the new wolf pup will follow them, or if it travels with the Witch Wolf, evil beast that she is.

"The new pup." Lexi notes quietly, still walking stifflegged as she moves to walk away from Lera with an calculated superiority and distain, to demonstrate her indipendance from Haku's pack, and his mate. "Who is he? Is he coming with us?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 28, 2005 11:55 am

With Lera gone...after quite a while, he might add, they were to begin to leave once more..It was difficult to say if he was angry, worried, or just plain apathetic about everything. Haku and Lera had been there for him when he was a pup...but he had other plans, quite a few other plans to keep going with...He grinned to himself, moving slowly to head back in the direction they had been going in the first place...till he spotted Rune, who must have decided to come with them.

He forced a smirk...which was probably supposed to be a smile, towards the pup. Glancing up to his mate, he would motion towards the pup gently, trying to soften his tone so he didn't sound so angry. "This is Rune...I ran into him near the lake...he has left his old pack, I've welcomed him to join our own, if that's okay with you, mate..." Glancing up towards Bran and Hinto, he canted his head a bit at Bran...trying to show him that it was all okay now. His muscles relaxed enough to relieve the tension a bit....but he was still on edge.

Her ears pinned back, and she'd move away from her mother...looking down at the new pup with sparked curiosity. She canted her head, and moved hesitantly over to the pup...sniffing at him gingerly, and from a distance that wouldn't get her in trouble...for being larger than the pup, she seemed a bit too frightened at the moment.

After hearing Gaara, she would trot over to Hinto and Bran, nuzzling into Hinto's hand...feeling his discomfort that had been sparked from her mother being there. Parting her ebone maw, she'd lick the child's hand...trying to comfort him, of course. She seemed to take automatically to the humans...but was also quite curious about the pup, as well, but figured that Gaara and Lexi were to deal with him right now--then she'd get her chance to meet the pup, too.

"I have no objections, if he's actually going to stay..." She says, remembering Sable, and his very unwolflike ability to show any sort of loyalty to the pack he had chosen. "I would like to think we are suitible and strong enough alphas to command some sort of solidity in our ranks..." She shakes herself faintly, to make her hackles lie flat again, though she still walks a little stiffly and proudly, and will do so until she can no longer catch scent of Lera.

"Now she's gone...or leaving..." He says softly, releasing tention on the bow cord slowly and sliding the arrow back into it's quiver as Nile comes over to investigate. "No offence, little one, but your Mother is a real b--ch." He comments to the mute wolf, ruffling her fur gently as she licks Hinto's hand.

[] I'll wait till Thal posts for Rune till I post for Gaara xD []

Her tail would drop down to the back of her legs...no longer tucked between them. It began to sway side to side in the minor bliss of getting attention, tongue lulling out of her maw, looking up to Bran with a bright look in her eyes. Oh, how she wished she could voice her thoughts to any of them. But, alas, as she tried to let out a whuff...it was merely a huff of silent air.

She would move between them again, as if it made her feel safer with the two humans. The two alphas she didn't dare move near...though she respected them completely, she didn't want to cross them wrong right now. They both were tense, and they both seemed to want to get out of here as soon as possible.

Looking back up to Bran at his words, she had the feeling they were directed at her, but she didn't understand--so she merely blinked at him, shifting her front paws a bit to push herself between their bodies a bit more.

(( I agree with Nix on this one, Otsune. No offense but you’ve held us up for a month and it’s making us all look terribly inactive. We’re among the most active members of this guild and to have to wait a month for someone to post because he or she wants to create a bit of drama that’s not cool by us. We realize that real life happens but you could have at least informed us or done something as decent as posting something so we could move on. I bought my wolf so I could be more active because Feanaro’s held up a bit because I want to play with his mate but Autumn’s a very, very busy person, she’s posted that enough times to pardon herself. Byakko is unable to do much without his brothers and like Autumn, Dustfeather is very very busy. I saved up for months to get Byakko and I’ve made three posts because we’ve been held up. He’s even been scheduled to grow. I’ve not had any time to play him.

We were told that you were moving on. If that’s wrong then take it up with Kou… she gave us the information so don’t get angry with us. We decided to move on which happens a lot in thread RP if someone’s inactive for too long. Again, this is all a polite request. We just want to be as active as we were.))

Rune relaxed a bit as the tension in the air seemed to return back to a more stale sense of peace. Like he had assumed, the matter at hand now was him joining the pack. They spoke for a moment over it and he kept silent, seating himself upright with his head lifted up and his shoulders rolled back. He was a proud creature, and he’d not hide that fact. Even in the presence of two alphas he would show that he had a strong sense of honor. The subject first at hand was his loyalty to them it seemed. Taking a deep breath he decided it was best to address the matters as they came up, “If I may…”, he put in to get a bit of attention, “But if I’m indeed to join this pack, I will have no thought to join another. I was taught by the elder of my former pack to remain loyal and honor the words of the alphas. If there is anything you wish for me to do in order to prove this then I’ve no objections.”

He glanced between the two alphas, they were proud beasts, the female looked so proud and strong, she had scars like the fine warriors of his former pack. Flames in her eyes and despite her small stature her muscle build was one to be impressed with for sure. The male alpha was perhaps the largest wolf he had seen, the same flame in his eyes and the same proud scars on his muscled body. This didn’t seem like such a bad choice of packs. It was small but that only meant that he’d be more credible as he grew with the pack.

“If it would please you, I do know the area well. I might be able to lend a paw with finding a suitable location.”

Hinto, on the other hand, had nearly forgotten the tension between the wolves as the new silent wolf came up to lick his hand. He giggled a bit and let go of Bran’s shirt, reaching his hands out carefully to feel at the wolf, “I like this one, Bran. She doesn’t make mean sounds.” He stroked her head gently, scratching behind her ears and around her neck as the other wolves seemed to enjoy so much. She was young, a smaller head then the other ones did. His blinded eyes opened a bit to trace where his hands were moving, not that it did any good but it was uncomfortable to keep them closed all the time.

As the wolf left he turned back to Bran and caught his shirt again, holding his feeling stick out to the side to kind of give him an idea of how much room he had between Bran and a tree. “That witch-wolf was her mom? Why was she making mean-sounds then?” He wrinkled his nose a bit, “Moms are supposed to have soft voices…”

"I would be interested to know what you've seen that might make for a suitable den site." Lexi says with an cautious thoughtfulness. "But Gaara shall have to be consulted with on the matter. The two leggers are under our protection, but I don't beleive they normaly live in dens. The tall one didn't."

"SHe's a mute." Bran explains, stroking Nile's fur softly. "Her mother was probably growling because she and the other two were having an discussion on who was in charge, usualy a male wolf leads wolves, but the Witch Wolf...she's just...well she's not much natural. She probably thought it was her place to go after anyone leaving her mates pack. Good for us probably that those two work together well."

He'd watch his mate inspect the new pup, listening to the humans in the back...and Nile rustling around between them as much as she could...this wolf seemed to love human attention, which he wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing...they looked like a large pack of hunting dogs for the two humans...maybe that would keep them safe till they reached the correct spot for making up dens, and a place where 'Meal ticket' could create his own 'den'...one above ground, strangely enough. "Lets keep moving," he looked down at Rune, "You look wary...I could carry you, if you want."

Nile would revel in the attention she was recieving, and lulled her tongue out and over one side of her maw...looking up at them with bright eyes. When the child stopped with the attention, she had tucked herself between them..her small body not separating them much at all. As Bran began to stroke at her fur, she leaned against him a bit...in her mind, this getting her more attention.

Her 'unhealthy' love for humans may become a danger later, though. She could see it in Gaara's eyes that it wasn't something most wolves did...far from it, in fact. Ears laid back a bit, and she returned to her omega pose...shifting about a bit here and there, waiting for them to keep moving.
