"I'm not sure," said Klaus, adjusting his glasses "I hope we didn't do something wrong." As the figure got closer, Klaus got more and more worried.Klaus, who wasn't aware that the figure was Mr. Poe, was suddenly able to make out the image of his parents' friend.

"Hello Baudelaires. I have come to tell you some terrible news" Mr.Poe said and looked at his feet with a sad look on his face, like a child talking to the principal for something they had did wrong. "Your parents..." He stoped trying to choose his words carefully, "They have, well, erm, died." He waited a few moments to continue, "You house was in an unlikely fire and your parents had no time to escape." He look at the Baudelaires, from Violet, to Klaus, to Sunny and back again waiting for a responce.

Violet's eyes widened in shock. A fire? Her eyes cast downward as small tears began to surface, but she wiped them away quickly.

Sunny burst out crying, one of the only things that she could think of to do. She crawled slowly over to Violet as tears streamed down her face and her little nose sniffled in need of a tissue.

With a lump increasing in size in his throat he sniffled trying his hardest to hold his tears back, but he couldn't hold it in anymore and bauled and hugged his sisters. "Is the entire" *sniffle* "house is gone" *sniffle* "even the library?"

Violet picked up Sunny, hugging her and Klaus tightly, tears streaming silently down her cheeks.

Mr.Poe gave a heavy sigh and said, "I know this must be hard on you all, but I have found a near by relative of yours! And I have brought him down to the beach to met you all. Here is your new gardian, Count Olaf." Mr.Poe said stepping to the side reaveling an unusually tall and slim charater who clearly had no higene. "I'll leave you all here with Count Olaf to get aqunted. Please come back visit me at the bank and I'll help you search through the ruins for some items that might still be useable." Mr.Poe smiled, turned away, and slowly walked, somewhat like a duck, back the the bank.

After seeing this man it felt like his soul was lost. He knew there was something was wrong with him besides the fact that he smelled worse than a french guy eating garlic cheese. xp

Violet looked over their new guardian. There were three things she noticed about him right away. One, he only had one eyebrow. Two, he had a strange tattoo on his ankle. Three, he gave her a distinctly bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.
