"Uh..." she paused, trying to think of a reason. "Be...cause I found his character more interesting?" she asked with a plead, hoping that would work. If not..well, Raena hoped that it wasn't just her knuckles liked to pop.
"Yeah...that's it! Anyone can be Holmes, but it takes a TRUE visionary to be Watson." she said with a wink.

"A true visionary, eh?" Samantha shot Raena a sidelong glance. "Uh huh..."
She smirked finally, leaning back and propping her elbows up on the back of the bench. "I guess you're right. It's always the side characters doing all the work to make the main characters look good anyway." She laughed, crossing her feet at the ankles and seeming to lounge quite happily on the uncomfortable bench. Now THIS was more like it. This was more what Samantha was used to. Sunlight, fresh air, and snarky sarcasm. Ah, it almost felt like home.

"Of course!" she said, then pressed her hand onto her own chest in a dramatic fashion. "Ah Watson, unsung hero of baker street. How we salute your valor!" At the end she was tempted to salute, but didn't want to look like a total fool. Looking up at the sky, she silently thanked this place. She hadn't had this much fun in ages.
"I...it's been a while since I've actually...enjoyed someone else's company..." she sheepishly admited. Perhaps this place could do her some good after all.

Still snickering after Raena's rather theatrical display, Samantha grinned back. "Guess that makes two of us, eh, my crazy friend?" She smirked cheekily, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Perhaps we should liven this place up a bit? Have a little fun in the meantime? I'm sure we could drive a few people nuts in return for their 'gracious hospitality' around here."
The idea was greatly appealing. She hadn't had nearly this much fun in months...maybe years. Plus, it'd be worth it for no other reason than to see the look on Uncle Carl's face when he saw what his 'poor, bed-ridden niece' could get up to now that she was feeling better.
Speaking of which, she didn't feel nearly as weak as she had earlier when staggering unsteadily over to the bench. She wasn't back to normal by any means, but she wasn't overly tired or dizzy like she had been earlier. That was strange. She'd always recovered quickly from athletic activity, but come on! Plus, for someone just recently out of organ transplant surgery, should she really even be on her feet yet? For some reason, the thought hadn't even crossed her mind until now...

"One step at a time, I'm still getting used to talking to one person...any more exitement and I'm bound to explode!" she said with a laugh, then nearly flushed at the noise. If snickering sounded odd to this odd girl, laughing was like an alien crawling out of her throught. She just sat there for a moment, wondering why... why she had let herself fallen to such a deep depression before. She had a lot of thinking to do when she arrived back ib her 'room' later on, but for now...
"Well, who should we pass our insanity onto now?"

Samantha was shaken out of her musings by Raena's laughing and she hurried to shoot a smile back at her amused friend. "Hmm...not a whole lot of options. We could annoy the guards...or..." She glanced over at the only other non-CRONUS person in the yard. "Depends. You up for a challenge?" She winked at Raena in a conspiratory manner. This could prove to be quite interesting.

Raena watched as Samantha shot a glance at the non-CRONUS. Hm, an interesting target to be sure, but she didn't seem like she wanted to be bothered. The bandaged woman seemed to radiate a...'I keel you if you bug me'...sort of aura about her, and Raena didn't feel like dieing right now...
"Depends if this challenge will result in any bodily harm..." she said, sarcastic yet oh so truthfully at the same time.

Tara listened to the mumbling from afar, not being able to make out any of the words. Her partial blindness hand helped her exel some in hearing, but not enough to hear a conversation from the other side of a large yard. She stood anyways, shooting the two an odd glance before taking a seat on the ground, falling onto her back and started a set of sit-ups. What was the point of an 'exersize' yard if she wasn't going to do anything? She closed her good eye, biting her lip. You need to calm down Tara. Calm. Down, This place is driving you insane...

Samantha merely smirked. "Well, if they're good for nothing else, I'm sure the guards can keep her from killing us at least." She winked, struggling to her feet with some difficulty. Taking a few unsteady steps, she paused, taking a deep breath and focusing her energy. Calm down...take it one step at a time. No need to push yourself TOO much. Sighing, she continued her slow progress across the yard, heading for the new arrival and hoping Raena was following. Her legs felt strange and weak, but at least she was walking. Considering how little of that she had done in the various hospitals, her muscles were most likely atrophied. She should really be doing exercises like this new girl. Well, she should work up to it at least.
"Well, hello there! Welcome to our growing motley crew!" She grinned, breathing deeply from the exertion of crossing the yard.

Raena got up when Samantha did and followed her a few paces behind, for several reasons. One was so if Samantha fell, she would be there, and the other was so that she wouldn't die of fright. New people made her nervous, and even though Sam had slightly broken her out of the 'people die when they're around me' mindset, she still had a bad feeling about it. After all, it had onl been one day.
As Samantha called out in greeting, Raena remained silent, unsure of what to do or say.

Tara's head fell backwards onto the ground and she opened her eye, hair falling back to reveal all of the bandages around her head. She propped herself up with her elbows, her right arm still slightly sore from the needle. She snorted slightly, scanning over the two with her good eye. Apparantly, she wasn't the only one in this horrible situation. It was understandable, "Hello" She muttered, climbing to her feet to look at them from a more level hight. She dusted off her jacked and ran her fingers through her hair once. "Growing motley crew?" She repeated the girl's words, not stepping anywhere near them. "I wouldn't speak of it as if it that good of a situation..." Her voice was quiet, still keeping it's normal dark tone.

Samantha merely smirked at the girl's dark tone. She had a snarky, sarcastic side too, so it wasn't something she couldn't handle. "Never said it was a 'good' thing persay, but better to face the unknown as a group than alone, right? A united front beats a scattered resistance, ya' know. History says so. As do movies."
She paused as if thinking carefully before speaking again. "Then again...movies don't usually have anything good to say about confused young people who are brought together by strange circumstances and find themselves in exercise yards surrounded by guards. Hmm...damn."

Raena gulpled slightly. Samatha, though harsh at first, wasn't THIS dark. The new person's voice gave her the willies, though she tried hard not to make that fact known. She smiled meekly at Sam's comment, though it seemed her laughter had once again fleed from her body, leaving a poor frightened little girl behind.
Swell....just swell. Grabbing onto her braid, she twisted the lock in her hands to keep her from trembling. Two new people in one day was a bit much....

Tara snorted again. "Sometimes a group effort can just get you in a worse situation then you're already in." She paused, "Just digging yourself down deeper into a pile of crap" She sighed, "Things could always get worse than they already are. But... well, I really don't want to think about it now do I?" She glanced at the gaurds who were watching them for a moment, narrowing her eye before looking back to Sam, "Tara Maigin's the name" She nodded her head.

Samantha couldn't help but grin. "Nice to meet you too, Sunshine. I'm Samantha Hakan," she introduced herself automatically, giving her full name without a thought. Afterall, these two wouldn't know her uncle for any reason that she could think of and even if they did, what difference did it make?
She wasn't sure if Raena was going to speak or not. Looking back, she took in the situation at a glance and decided she probably wasn't going to. "Err, this is...Raena." She was hesitant for a moment when she realized she didn't know her last name. Had she missed it? No, they hadn't given each other their last names before; she realized that now. Ah well, she could give her full name if she wanted to.
