We're basing ours on our very successful drumline show from last year - it's called "Frequency." Lots of synth rhythms and drum features, and the ordinary music promises to be awesome as well. We're planning on huge "radio" towers on the field that the soloists will stand on.

paulvgarza i think a robert w. smith theme would be good. I liked his pieces...but I haven't played his pieces since middle school...does he write higher level music like level 4,5...?My middle school band played: Portsmouth Overture(played 6 times in concert >_> People ripped it up right after our last concert with it) Rites of Tamburo(fun 'ssss's and 'ahhh's in the beginning) The Great Steamboat Race(funfunfun special effects w/ jugs+others =P) All by Robert W. Smith! Some of the other pieces I liked were James Swearingen's pieces...

Spartin-117 My bands show was kick a** is was called "The Rize and Fall of Rome" super cool Pendleton did that show a couple of years ago (eh 2 years ago, twas my freshman year). It was really cool... even tho they did tend to beat BHP at every competition we had against them.

Our marching shows are crazy, but this year our band director has yet to let us know... He gave us hints and said we'd never guess it... The hints are: It begins with an "i"... It's 4 syllibles(SP)... It's not "insanity"...(The reason we would think it's "insanity" is because of our past 2 shows... They were Electricity and The Scream(The painting not the movie)... all music by Daniel Bukvich....) I think it's(we got a dictionary to help us): Incantations (I hope we don't play Encanto if this is our show...) Intergration (I don't know why) And I can't remember ths other one I thought it was Can any of you help? (He told us to get on our band forums and he will post it there sometime over the summer.... I can't wait that long....(band forum webstie(just in case you want it)- http://piedmontband.proboards28.com ))

AuthoressMegaRose Are show has yet to be named but it will most likey have something realting to the words son or sun. We're playing 'Carry on Wayward son" "House of the Rising sun" "Dawning of the Age of Aquarius (I think thats the name...) and one other sun song.... its age of aquarius. We did that as part of a 60's and 70's show for 2003. We also did Vehicle, In the Stone and A Whiter Shade of Pale. That was an awsome year!

ForsakenShadow Got my show.. "Life" from Chicago. "Bohemian Rhapsody" from Queen. "In the Stone" from Earth, Wind and Fire. Oh it's gona be a good year... Not fair. I wanna do Bohemian Rhapsody!!! I did In the Stone last year. Which part of your band has the melody to it?? brass or low brass. We saw Benton Harbor do that that same year we did but they put more emphasise on the low brass. It wasnt the best!

We havent picked our theme yet. Im so dissapointed in that. But our possible themes are:
1. Super Heroes (superman, the incredibles, spiderman and another i think0 2. midevil Heroes (robin hood and that type of stuff) 3. Classical Thing (a rocked out version of beathovens 6th or something like that. Its actually pretty cool to hear) 4 Some singer (i think thats the actaul one we will do but I dont remeber what really what bands he wrote for but i do remeber he wrote a couple songs for the doobie brothers)
So.. those are our possible themes for next year. Sounds pretty cool huh?

Well, my band's doing Phantom of the Opera. It's going to be our highschool's first ever marching band program, 'cause we're brand spankin' new. It'll also be my freshman year and I love Phantom, so it oughta be good. Not to mention we have kickass director Mr. Davis from, I believe, Waxahatchie(sp?). He's awesome. So, much fun next year.

We're doing all these Gershwin songs: Rhapsody in Blue, American in Paris, and some Piano Concerto. :0 It's really cool because our arrangement was specially made, so it's all original. It should be refreshing since most bands do movies or play music (we did Mask of Zorro last season). I'm really really excited. whee
Edit: "play" as in Miss Saigon and Broadway.. things. :1
