Cat naps were a lovely thing, they didn't have to last too long! One of Reynee's ears twitched at a sound, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment in an attempt to return to subconsciousness...but it was no use, was it? As long as she was awake she might as well check on Twilight. She rubbed gently at Dusk's back as she opened her eyes, going from slits to full size. He...he moved! "..Twilight?" It was just her imagination, wasn't it? Reynee would wait a minute or two for Twilight to move again before waking Dusk, he needed sleep more than she did.

Dusk sighs a little and settles more against her, giving a slight nuzzle at her at the movement. Twilight's ears twitch at the name but he mostly stays asleep, curling up a little more and normal sleeptime behavior. It wasn't for another hour before he slowly opened his eyes, blinking slowly and glancing around. He gave a chitter in what seemed to be his own personal language and Dusk started to stir with a tiny nosie.

Reynee's smile brightened when she saw Twilight's ear, her own giving a happy flick when he moved. Children were so adorable when they slept...so peaceful. Why couldn't everything be as simple as a sleeping child? The world would probably be less chaotic! The cat nuzzled at Dusk's head and shook his shoulder a bit to wake him up, he had said to wake him if Twilight woke up. He was already beginning to wake up anyway, it seemed, so she was just giving him a gentle push...yeah! So...she wasn't being mean by waking him up!
"Dusk...wake up, sweetie. Twilight's awake."

Dusk groans slightly and presses his face into her neck more before blinking, looking up and around then looking over to Twilight. He stares at him for a few moments before getting up and moving closer. "...Twilight...?"
Twilight blinks up at him, rubbing at his eyes. He yawns and looks around again. "...weren't we in the forest...??" He glances down to his hand and his brows furrow, staring at the bandages. "...what's wrong with my hand?" He blinks, looknig over to Dusk then at Reynee, blinking at her a few times before waving with his good hand.
Dusk watches Twilight silently for a few moments before just hugging him tightly, face burying into the boy's hair. He'd had no idea Twilight had meant so much to him before...

Reynee froze, her heart speeding up for the split second that Dusk's face was pressed even harder against her neck. That felt so good...
One ear perked at Twilight's question, reaching over and ruffling his hair gently with a smile. "We were, but you fell asleep so we took you here. Your hand is fine, don't worry." She blinked and leaned back so Dusk could get to Twilight, watching the two of them with a soft smile. If only she had someone to consider her child, but all her sisters were just that...sisters.
"...Dusk's been talking about you, telling me how special you are...you're lucky to have such a wonderful person taking care of you, Twilight. Twilight this, Twilight that! He's doing such a good job." Reynee chirped, running a hand up through Dusk's hair and purring again. Did Twilight know any of what she just said?

Twilight blinks a little as he was hugged, looking to Reynee and nodding slowly as he watches her, looking back to Dusk curiously. He rubs at his eyes, yawning and nestles against Dusk a little. "...All right..." he smiles softly.
Dusk just sighs gently as he hugs him, blushing softly at what Reynee said, glancing to her then looking back to Twilight. "How do you feel? Normal?"Twilight blinks up at him and nods. "...I feel fine, just sleepy really...my hand kinda itches..." "Good...Good..." Dusk smiles weakly and rubs Twilight's back gently.

Reynee would never admit it out loud, but she suddenly felt...selfish over Dusk; she was ashamed at the very thought. The cat smiled gently and leaned back in her chair, watching the two with a look of adoration...it really was a beautiful sight, a father and his son! Reynee looked around the room after a minute, pausing after noticing the cookie jar still sat on the night stand.
"...You hungry, Twilight? Dusk and I brought cookies back from the kitchen if you want some." She offered, leaning over to grab the jar and take a few cookies out. This would be a perfectly good excuse to sit next to Dusk, resting her head on his shoulder and holding out the cookies for Twilight to take.

"Coooookiiiieeeesss~" The foxes ears went up quickly, blinking with wide eyes and nearly tackling the cookies, tail wagging as he ate happily, making little pleased nosies as he ate. Dusk blinks in surprise at all this then smiles gently before looking to Reynee, pausing. He watches her a long moment before gently slipping an arm around her waist and hugging her closer with a whispered. "Thank you..." He looks back to Twilight, watching him eat his cookies, the boy was very pleased. Dusk glances out the window after a moment, thinking quietly. Reynee wanted him to stay but...should he? It might only make things worse...or even...He sighs and turns his face, nuzzling at her hair quietly, eyes closing.

Reynee giggled merrily at the fox's reaction, stealing a cookie from the jar for herself and munching on it. The cat blinked, suddenly feeling an arm around her waist and looking up, she blushed softly and smiled. It felt so nice in Dusk's arms. Reynee's purring started up all over again, glancing over at Twilight to make sure he was properly distracted and claiming Dusk's lips with her own once again in a deep kiss. What? She couldn't help it, he tasted so good!
"So," She whispered. "Now thta Twilight's awake, will you stay? Please stay? For my sake at least...?" Reynee whispered against his lips, watching him with pleading eyes. He wouldn't leave her...he couldn't...something in her life was finally going right again! If Dusk left it'd kill her!

Dusk gave a tiny smile at Reynee's amusement with Twilight, glancing back finally and watching him quietly. He had no idea what he was going to do. There were so many things that affected his decision and would be affected BY the decision. He kept his arm around Reynee, thinking when he was suddenly kissed deeply. He made a soft sound, shivering gently as his senses were overwhelmed, swallowing hard as he kisses back slowly, forgetting about Twilight for a moment. His arm held her closer against him, until he felt Twilight crawling to steal another cookie, pulling back slightly eyes glancingat the boy. He looks to Reynee when she speaks, listening quietly and blinking at her. He hesitates for a few moments. "...we'll stay a little while..and then we'll see..."

She suddenly looked quite dismayed, frowning and closing her eyes with a sigh. "Is there anything I can do to change your mind about leaving?" Reynee murmured, holding Dusk possessively against her and nuzzling her face into the boy's neck in the same way he had when he was sleeping. Call it a little form of pleasing payback. Dusk had nuzzled against her neck to the point of making her explode, so Reynee was planning on doing the exact same thing to him in return!
It was a really good thing Twilight was distracted by the cookies right now. "Try not to eat all of the cookies, Twlight dear. I've only had one or two of them myself, and if you eat too many too quickly you'll get sick." Faye and Lani had done the same thing the first time Jada had added vanilla to her cookie recipe, the little pigs ate every single cookie she and Kailine hadn't taken!

"...I never said I was leaving for sure, I just...need to think..." Dusk swallows, looking down. He bit his trembling lip as she held him against her, shifting to get up. He walks quietly to the window, looking out. "...Reynee, you don't know everything about me..." And she'd probably be frightened if she knew it all. He sighs gently, eyes closing for a moment. He opens them, looking in the direction of the tree.
Twilight pouts. "but they are nummy!" he crawls to reach into the jar and steal another one out, chewing at it and looking over to Dusk quietly, blinking slowly at him then glancing to Reynee.

Reynee's frown deepened, just sitting there next to Twilight's bed and watching Dusk, she was at a loss wasn't she? She didn't think she was close enough to Dusk for him to tell her everything...even with the way they treated each other. Her ears lowered sadly at his words, glancing at Twilight and smiling gently. "I'll tell Jada what you think of them if I see her again...but still, you can't eat them all because then you'll be as big as your pillow!" Reynee's smile brightened a bit, poking gently at the fox's stomach. "I can feel it already~! You're growing feathers in your tummy, Twilight." She teased, sticking her tongue out to let him know she really was joking. Couldn't have the boy freaking out over something that silly! Living with kids had its perks after all, Reynee knew how to play with them.
After this, the cat ruffled Twilight's hair playfully and rose to her feet, walking over to Dusk and leaning against the wall beside him. "I know I don't know everything about you...but I want to..." The cat tentatively reached out and pushed some of Dusk's hair away from his face, smiling sadly and looking out the window. "I really want to know everything there is to know about you, Dusk...I know it'll probably never happen...but...still..."

Twilight was staring at Dusk slowly frowning as the mage stood silently. He blinks and looks to Reynee, head tilting to the side as she spoke, blinking and giggling as he was poked in the stomach. "No I'm not! cookies won't make you grow feathers!" He giggles more and stuck his tongue back at her. He smiles happily as his hair was ruffled, grinning.
Dusk swallows, looking down and sighing gently, glancing to her as she walks over. He watches her lean against the wall and push hair away from his face. He takes a breath, looking down then at her again before pulling her against his chest as he hugs her tightly. His eyes close as he whispers softly to her. "...I just...get this feeling that you'll get hurt if I stay..." His fingers bury themselves into her shirt as he holds her close. "...a-and it scares me.." Dusk bites his lip and blushes, resting his chin ontop of her head.

Reynee stumbled a bit when she was suddenly pulled into Dusk's embrace, staring up at Dusk for a moment before closing her eyes and slipping her arms under his to hold into his shoulders from behind. It felt so peaceful in Dusk's arms, why would he think she'd be hurt by him staying here? "...It'd hurt more if you left me, Dusk..." The cat whimpered, holding him tightly and listening to his heartbeat. So soft, so calm...
Reynee opened her eyes and looked up at Dusk, blinking and kissing gently at his chin. "What's there to be afraid of?"
