He picked up his pace hobbling along behind her, it was no longer a limp, it took over one half of his body. He poorly hid his wincing and called out uncomfortably.
As he reached the trees he half layed down half crumpled to the earth exhausted and weary of ever having to wake up again.
"Tired," he muttered and looked up at her, like a child looking up at his best friend. At that moment he knew he never wanted to leave Kari's side, he never wanted to see another pink cheetah again, but what if she didn't want to see him?
He breathed in quickly thinking about it, she would want him, she would have to. That's that.

Kari jogged the last couple of feet to the trees, and turned around to wait for Hasidi. She winced when he crumpled at the foot of the trees, and immediately went to his side to try to make sure he was situated comfortably. He was not going to fall asleep in such a way that he would be in more pain when he woke up. After making sure he was at least comfortable looking, nudging him gently only once, she took a seat beside him.
Now he could rest, and they were far enough in the coalition lands that she felt they would be safe. Her sitting position slowly changed as she lowered herself, laying down so she almost curled around part of him. Of all the creatures she'd met, it seemed that he'd been around the most and despite the circumstances around their meetings they seemed to be the most memorable. It was nice like that.
