"But isn't sch..." Megan dropped hre own question, the whole fact that Zayd wasn't from America finally dawned on her, "Oh. Wow. That was really nice of you. Did your family hate you for bein' an Evo? My stepda did, so I don't getta see any of 'em." She had finally reached a point where she didn't gripe and scream and yell about it, but she still revisited the whole thing.

AriyaLauna hesitated a moment, nodded, then laughed, "Well, this has been quite the turn around. I wonder if that hairdresser does the hair-charity thing.." she looked at a part of the long hair that was falling around her, "It's more than long enough..." She half-galnced toward Megan. The kid would fall on her face if she left one Saturday and came back with her hair just below her shoulders.

"Really? That's sssooo lucky," Zayd was picking up more and more points in Megan's book, "So what sorta thing can you do? I jus' mimic people. The coolest thingI ever gotta do was turn into some hulk-thing." Megan had actually enjoyed training the tiny bit she had with Darebone, despite being a major brat about it. "But I don't train much." A hint of regret reached her voice, and when she realized it, she shrugged it off, gruffly making an excuse, "They're all stupid anyhow."

"Washing it is fine. It's getting dry and keeping warm once it's wet that's the pain." AriyaLauna answered back, also standing and going to gather the plates from the kids and catching the last comment, "Be nice, Meg. Some water or sweet tea would be excellent."

"Yeah, it was like I turned into a rock, and Su---Darebone jumped me and everything and it didn't hurt! It was really cool," She watched him take his bandana off with interest, then clapped her hand over her mouth in astonishment, "Cool! You gotta extra eye...Can you see out of it? What can it do?" She was already trying to figure in her head if she could mimic THAT...It'd be like being some...some...what were those things called? But what if she couldn't get rid of it? Well, she'd have to wear bandanas too. That would be awesome! Ariya wouldn't be able to say nothing.

"Sure," AriyaLauna followed Jenny, judging Megan to be safe enough with the boy.

Megan stared for a second, at first not sure whether to be grossed out or what...She did eep a little, eyes huge, but then clapped her hands in fascination, "That is so gross! Cool! You have the most awesome power ever...So you can like, spy on the adults and stuff? Like, leave it somewhere? Can you make it move...Eew!"

She wasn't going to be brave enough to even TRY that one.

"That's really cool," Megan breathed, then blinked.

Was he sucking on his thumb? She thought only babies did that? Maybe that wasn't true where he was from?

"They say when we get bigger'n'better we'll be able to do lots of things we can't do now," she picked the ball of Zayd's lap, "Whatcha wanna do?"

"Do you gotta playground? We can run around outside or somethin'," Megan was big at doing anything active, "I wish we were at my place. Ariya just bought this coolest slip'n'slide in the whole wide entire universe and it's a whole lot of fun, 'cept she won't slip'n'slide with me. She says she's too scared. I'm braver'n Ariya!!" Megan rolled her eyes, "What's the bestest thing you got to do here?"

Megan frowned, then nodded, "A board game sounds like fun. I never heard of that'n before. You like it?"

She figured if someone as cool as Zayd was turning out to be liked the boardgame, then she'd give it a try.

"Ok! Mo---AriyaLauna!! We need you!! You're really going to beat me big time. I don't know anything about this. Is it hard to learn?" Megan looking at the game with the air of a critic, trying to judge everything about it before even starting.
