Sticking out her tongue she giggled at him with a pouty face. It always seemed they could break out in laughter in the most serious situations.
Looking toward the horizon there seemed to be a dark cloud forming which made her silliness become serious. First thought was being sucked into the darkness again, in which she backed up nervously bumping into Sora. "Hmm the clouds are getting dark and the wind is picking up. Sora we should head for somewhere safe, kay?" she murmered as eyes of sincerity never left that forming dark mass. Please don't take Sora from me again, she pleaded with the sky. Please let him stay with me forever.

Sora followed Kairi's gaze to the darkening clouds, he followed after her nudging her gently towards the shore. "Out of the water then and in to some cover okay?" He continued to nudge her along frowning at the sky, a storm perhaps?

Nudging toward Sora she stayed rather tightly knit beside him fearing the darkness would come and swallow them again. "Sora. Please don't leave again. I mean I'd chase through the darkness again to find you though. Please Sora." she pleaded with a sad whinny, her eyes genuiney showing concern. Sticking close to him she broke into a trot heading toward the hills hoping shelter was available.
Little did either know though something was watching them with eager eyes. Something dark and foreboding.

Sora whinned softly to Kairi, he didn't like to see her so upset like this. He returned the nudge gently before breaking in to a trot along side her, "I don't plan to go any where I promise." He gave her another reasureing nudge before picking up the pace again.

Eyes glinting like knives the creature crouched low enough not to be seen. Finally something it had been waiting for as it sized them both up picking out the mare whom was easiest to tackle when she'd near closer. Casually it licked its roughened lips in anticipation as razor sharp claws extended and retacted like little cutting knives.
Not too far ahead there lie an opening as the sky darkened toward the two foreign soquili. Something was coming since it was announced within the whipping wind. Kairi reared up as a lightning bolt snuck across the sky followed by a clap of loud thunder vibrating the ground beneath her hooves. Her eyes nearly turned white as she bolted for the cave hoping it was the right decision praying Sora hadn't left her side.
Not too far now the creature flicked its tail back and forth seeing the smaller mare with wings of light nearly pass by. In an instant it sprung landing swiftly on the mare's back as it dug claws into her wings and back grasping her lithe neck. A ferious growl uttered from its throat as it fought to hang onto the flailing mare. If it could just reach her throat it would be all over with victory well spent.
Kairi felt her flesh tear among her wings and neck followed by her back. Something had lunged upon her and was seeking to destroy her very existence. "Sora!!!" she screamed with all she had, "Sora help me... Sora!!!" she screamedin a high pitched whinny rearing upwards toward the storm trying to throw her assailant off her back.

Sora galloped along afte Kairi comeing in only a few moments after she had, at first he paid little heed to anything comeing towards them haveing assumed the cave was empty when Kairi first stept inside and nothing happened.
This changed quickly how ever, "KAIRI!" He reared up high takeing a kick at the creature trying to dislodge it, he would have used his horn but the risk of getting Kairi with it was too much, "Get off of her monster!" He reared up again takeing another swing, "Kairi no! Don't move so much I can't get it if you keep moving!" He tried to line up his horn now but with Kairi reared up as well he could do anything.

The cat hissed dislodging its claws finally to land before the unicorn dressed in the funny attire. Strange these creatures were with their strange cries and threats. The hungry female switched her tail back and forth grinning before she darted out of the cave disappearing into the rocks above.
Kairi felt the knie like cuts in her fur with some wounds that weren't so serious. It was more of a scared demise that something like this should happen. She snorted lying herself dow n as the sky changed from black to a somber gray releasing white frozen things from the sky. Her breath was so heavy and her legs so tired.
"Sora?" she called with a frown, "We're in the cave now... we're..." she murmered falling into a deep sleep.

As soon as the cat like thing let go Sora drove his horn in right after it trying to catch the little monster before it could get away, his horn chiped stone and empty air as the cat easily jumped away and out the cave. He turned to chase it stoping to go back to Kairi.
"Kairi? It's gona be okay I promise!" He started to nudge her gently as she lay down checking her wounds to see they wern't as bad as it looked at first. After he was sure she was just asleep and not hurt he made his way around her nudgeing her gently so her head rested on his back while he watched the caves entrance as the snow slowly fell from the sky.

Days passed as she rested not realizing time was but a fleeting shadow around them. Nearly a week had sauntered by bringing Kairi to rise one morning looking about. Her wounds were stiff and cracked over yet still she wasn't sore as before. Rising to her feet standing fully upright she noticed various grasses and apples lying about the ground. The deep white blanket resting outside carried hoof prints back and forth. Her ears swiveled listening for Sora. Walking slowly she bent into a lower stretch and flexed her wings feeling the scabbing from the attack crumble away.
