She continued to look miserably down at her hands, however, taking Aphismet's silence as his agreement. She cleared her throat, half turning to the car.
"Th-Thank you, though.. I enjoyed the dinner.."
She headed around to the driver's side of the car, careful of the on-coming traffic.
Roux had looked up for just a moment at Rivener, eyes focusing on the other Raevens until they slid past and upward, blue reflecting the blue of the sky.

Aph could only watch in impotent silence as the girl drove away. He raised a hand and opened his mouth to say something just as the car was about to turn the block's corner, but by then it was, of course, much too late.
"ARGH!" he yelled instead, kicking at the snow and letting his arm droop. "Why am I always so stupid!?" He felt like punching himself. Dejected, he walked up to his building and went in.
