I'm not sure when he said " their would be a number of three people" if the other user was still alive or not. If it was Madara, I think he would be long dead by now since.

The little we do know about the Akatsuki Leader is that he has spiked auburn hair, and eyes similar to Kurenai. That's surprisingly quite a bit of information already to disprove some theories. blaugh

It can't be Kurenai, considering she has long black hair. Unless, perhaps, she's wearing a wig. In which case would be almost impossible because I don't know how she'd manage to pull one over that spikey-hair. surprised Besides that, even though the Leader is shadow-y looking, his features look masculine not feminine. (Unless Kurenai has some secrets we don't know about scream )

As for the thought that it could be Yondaime, it doesn't seem logical. For one, Yondaime is dead. There are possible ways for him to have been resurrected, or something to that effect but seriously doubtful. Even if that was the case, this person has auburn (perhaps a more orangish) colored hair. Yondaime had blonde. (Unless he dyed it ;_;.) And I don't believe his eyes resemble Kurenai's.

As for Uchiha Madara, I think that Kyuubi was speaking of a very evil man, or so it sounded in the manga. I would be under the impression that this person has already passed away, though it is possible they could still be alive somehow. However, as was previously stated, almost all Uchiha's have dark hair. The few that don't seem to be old geezers.

I'm coming under the impression that the Akatsuki Leader has never been seen before; It must just be some random powerful new character. With some shocking relation to an already know Naruto character, or something that would surprise the hell heck out of people.

My apologies, I misread then. That was my fault for not paying enough attention, although... Some people do believe that it's actually Kurenai herself, that's why I thought people were thinking it was her. sweatdrop

The rumor about Akatsuki leader being Yondaime is most likely wrong (hence, previous posts stating leader has auburn hair).
But two possible outcomes are leader being either: an Uchiha or a Yuhi.
Madara seems to be pronounced dead, and the leader seems to have never shown the Sharingan... I guess it's a low chance. But is it possible that if his eyes were red, then he would be Yuhi related? Because his eyes seem to correspond with Kurenai-sensei's eye type. And what could the circles on the sides of his nose mean... Or he could just be another powerful evil character added to the storyline. Two reasonable predictions in my opinion: Yuhi or another one. We may never know... at least yet.

The leader can't possibly be a female can he? That'd be a bit odd.

I'm not saying I disagree, but it just seems somewhat impossible.

Well he's obiously a very well trained ninja, but I believe that I've seen him somewhere in the Naruto series not including the ones with the Akatsuki in them, I can't think of where just now, but I'll tell you if I remember.
