Sakeyum dark_mousy_kyu Errgh, I think this is on topic ... but anyway What is with people and being COMPLETELY immature about instruments?! I was talking to a friend in my media class the other day about my Trombone, and how we might be able to use it in our project. And another girl at our table was being so immature it wasn't funny! I'm sick of comments like "*snicker* You play tromBONE!" and "I bet you're a good tromBONER!" (It's not Tromboner morons! It's Trombonist! Get it right!) Don't even get me started on the comments about Band Camp and what the poor flute players have to endure. It really really bugs me. I find this rather funny. One because my best friend who plays trombone put on the back of his band shirt "Tromboner". I mean, most of us as band geeks realize the jokes and embrace them. I mean heck, one of the banners for this guild is "Cause we dont find fingering dirty", or whatever it is. Also. I met my girlfriend at band camp the summer before my senior year (been together 1 and half years now). And she plays flute smile . And well.... she's fun wink . lol. It's all joking, but it's good fun. Embrace your sexual band nerd nature!~ Hehe, when anyone makes fun of me for going to band camp I'd always say. "But I play drums... I'd get slivers." Oh, don't get me wrong! I don't mind when members of the band do it. It's just morons who are trying to make band seem stupid who I hate.

There's a lot of couples in my band, but it's more irritating than anything. o.0;;; I'm in band so I can play music, not get marked as late because YOU'RE MAKING OUT IN FRONT OF MY LOCKER...
It can be cute, however.
Something kind of ironic, though: Our band conductor is married to the football coach. :X

at my school, the band people aren't considered nerds at all. And a lot of them are in a relationship, sexual or not. Though, there was one girl who gave one of the guys a b*****b on the bus ride home from a competition.....she was kicked off and now the band is separated into boy and girl buses. Rumor is that her parents sent her to St.Gertrudes, local all girl catholic school........and our football team is 2nd in the district, 6th in the state. But the season isn't over yet.........

I married a drummer - I knew it was bound to happen redface
Also, In my HS, it was always the drumline that was promiscuous, although one of the A Sax players got one of the clarinetists pregnant my junior year - they did get married, though.
But in college - man, my freshamn year EVERYONE was doing EVERYONE (or so it seemed)...
eek
And then there were the rumors of the BJs on Pirates of the Carribbean on our D-Land performance trips...
(I only ever made out on that ride, and the only person I ever gave a hickey to in band was a gay guy. No harm done there, I suppose?)

I would definitely date someone from band. Anyone but a woodwind (bassoons excepted), percussion, or trumpet player. Jessteengirl i never dated a another band member but you r still likely to get a bf/gf cuz somepeople find band people cool. Well at my school they do. I got a bf because i met him at a football game and we started talking. i ended up getting laid the next month. biggrin You're, what, 15? o_O Anyway...eh, I don't think there were any sexual hijinks in music class, or between musicians, while I was there. Although I can't remember if the practice room doors locked or not *_*...

Well, I have had an offer from a hot choir girl, and dated 3 consecutive band girls, one being an especially attractive trombone player. I had so many innuendos, it wasn't even funny. Of course, I have turned down all sex, because I am not ready for that. *laughs* Not like it wouldn't be cool, I just didn't want to make any sort of commitment like that. But yeah, band doesn't curse you to being unlucky. I have had my best girlfriends as band chicks.

the only relationships I've had have been within the band. At our school, most of us are band nerds and proud of it. We're not afraid to say something, but we are usually segregated from the rest of the school because of the comments we make. Mostly due to someone's race, but we only make fun of the people in band, and they know we love them. Since our band only has about 120 members, it's just like a really big family.
I have heard of people coming to school for a band function on something and then getting very friendly afterwards, and then some that lock themselves in the guard room with their signifcant other, but I've never been whitness to such acts.

Our bandies aren't too nerdy, because most of them don't like band that much. Some of us are really devoted though. I will say that I have dated two cheerleaders, which would be off limits by most of the band nerd rules that people impose upon us, so, being a band nerd doesn't doom you to loneliness at all. Unless you are our first chair flute, who has a mustache, one friend, and loves only Jesus, and no man will touch her flesh, unless they are married, which might never happen. XD. Sorry for that rant. But, she is really snooty and evil, so I have to rant about her sometimes.
