That was not the last attack. Several times afterwards, my captor would run off, and every time, it took him longer to return. We no longer spoke. The attacks soon began to come every few days, and we were constantly on alert. He was tiring, I could tell, and I knew it was only a matter of time before he could no longer protect out small fortress.

I grew used to sleeping through some of he loud attacks. It was either that, or get no sleep. The sounds were commonplace, and, though it took longer each time, my captor always won the battles, and kept me safe. I wondered, from time to time, whether the attackers would free me if they ever won. (Doing my best, guys)

OMG I'M BACK!!!
Sorry, guys. I had some important things to sort out....
But I'm back now, hopefully for good.
Unfortunately, while I will again be active in the guild, this story will be on the back burner to my school work. I will work on it though, as often as I can.

(Zombie-Lazer climbs from the rubble of her own mind to bring you.... A POST!!!)
In time, that became my only dream. I began hoping my captor would fall to the alien “menace”. They could treat me no worse than he had.
One night, I slept restlessly. There was another attack, this one sounding far closer than any of those previous. The next thing I knew, I was flying from my bed across the room. I hit the far wall with a grunt and was on my feet immediately, my acute eyes scanning for danger. At once I could see what had happened. There was a large hole in the cell wall, blasted inwards. There was rubble all around and smoke and dust filled the air, obscuring my vision. But even through the destruction, I could see one fact, clear as day. I was finally free.
Without hesitation, I sprinted for the hole and slipped out. There was no one around, but there was a trail of blood leading off down the hall, proving the fight had migrated. I was curious as to what was going on, but did not wait to find out. Faster than I had made up my mind, I was running down the hall in the opposite direction, my feet moving me as quickly as I could make them move. I was finally free!
(FInally, some action, eh?)

I could still hear the battles going on down the hall, but I paid them no mind. I had to find a way off the island I assumed I was on. Why else would they have taken me on a boat to get me here?
As I sped down one hall, my eyes locked forwards, there was a deafening explosion nearby. I was thrown against the wall and slid to the floor again, coughing and groaning in pain. As I opened my eyes the world spun, but slowly slid into focus. There he was--my captor of all this time-- standing tall. I don’t know how I recognized him.

(||: and now for the graphic bit.... ick)
With the blood covering him, his pasty skin was barely visible. Most of his scalp was a mangled mess, hiding his thinning hair. One of his eyes had been torn from the socket and the nerve still lay there. Part of his face was ripped away, revealing his teeth and gums. He no longer stood in the slightly hunched stance he had held throughout the majority of my imprisonment. He looked now, standing here before me, like an angel of death, cold and dangerous.

“Come.” He rasped, blood pouring from his mouth as he spoke. I stared blankly for a moment, my black eyes scanning the man’s battered and twisted body. “Come!” He insisted again, blood spraying from his mouth as I scrambled to my feet to follow him. He began to ran, and I don’t know how I was able to keep up. He was fast for a man so injured.

He led me through a labyrinth of hallways, twisting until I no longer knew where we had come from or where we were going My legs began to ache as we ran, but I had to press on. The sounds of the enemy behind us grew louder and louder, and my heart beat was loud in my ears. Something in me knew we would never survive.
Soon, we had reached a room that smelled of salt. It was dark as I was dragged inside, the door slammed behind me. I could hear my captor’s labored and rough breathing from somewhere in the dark room. I could hear the sounds of whatever was following us come closer and closer, then pass us by and continue down the hall.

: || In case you haven't noticed, this ain't happening. If you really want to know why, it's cuz Lazer went and did the unthinkable. She got a job. I'm working on the story slowly still... But I'm going to wait to keep posting until I have a bunch of story at once.
