I finished Loser last week, and Started reading Saving Shiloh, is hasn't gotten too intresting yet, since I just started, but hopefully it'll be good.
I also finished Holes, I think you all should read it! But borrow it from the libary, cuz' you could finsish it in probally....3 or 4 days, depends on how long you read.
But, I started reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! blaugh Really good book so far!

3nodding blaugh 3nodding blaugh 3nodding

...um, duh.

Holes is the best 1-day book I ever read (I read fast XD) And Harry Potter 6 is definitely the best one. I couldn't stop reading it (22 hours, HA! Beat that!)

Only, GOF was the best plot-wise. Ms. Rowling has a way with words >.<

wow, eek
I'm currently reading that, but I only read a chapter a day, which is usually a half hour, I believe I read slow, sweatdrop but I speed up my reading when something REALLY exciting is happening 3nodding

sweatdrop Which ones to tell y'all about...

When I was in third grade, I fell in love with Bridge to Terebithia. It was a beautiful piece of prose, and really defined my little eight year old self.

Then there are the loverly mainstream books that EVERYONE has/should read. Harry Potter Series, Series of Unfortunate Events (LAST BOOK COMIN' OUT THIS OCTOBER!!!), Inkheart and Inkspell, and the Chronicles of Narnia.

Then, I have a special place in my heart for the girl teen novels. Like...anything by Meg Cabot is the shiz. And then...everytime I read one of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books, I get all choked up.

Then there are the books that are just awesome. The Year of Secret Assignments, Not as Crazy as I Seem, Guitar Girl, and Dragonsong to name a few.

I have waaaay too many more to name. But these are the proud few that stick out in my memory; the ones that I gained valuable words of wisdom from.

Okay, I think I have some jurisdiction here. After all, I've read all the mainstream books, almost, and a lot of obscure books. And my one-year writing anniversary is in two months, (actually, it's been three years sweatdrop ) And I've already written a complete book.

But why am I telling you this? I have no idea. The point is, a lot of books aren't as good as most people think they are. For instance, Inkheart. I never finished it because the writing style--although good--kind of bugged me. And I have a short attention span, too, but nevermind. So therefore, I have no jurisdiction...there.

Harry Potter is really great and all, and Ms. Rowling has a way with words, I've said it before. Sure, she kills off a good character per book now, and she'll probably end up killing at least two of the trio, but whatever she wants to do is fine. Her style is descriptive but not flowery, short and to the point. Which is good, mostly. But sometimes, it isn't so good. You know what I mean.

The chronicles of Narnia are classics, but they aren't mainstream. they've been around for 50 years, more even, and the movie ruined them. That one isn't even the best one. But Mr. Lewis is very good. No complaints.

The series of Unfortunate Events is excellent. My one point of annoyance is how he keeps his plot so suspended--I can hardly believe that it can all end in one book. It's frustrating, you know. But his way of talking to the reader is fantastic, and if he can pull it off, then he is fantastic.

The Da Vinci Code is pretty popular now, though it's been around for a few years. The movie, once again, was not as good as the book, though it was close. Dan Brown is a genius, and well researched...I have nothing bad to say about his plot. His writing style is blunt and repetitive, however--good, one of the best, but not perfect. he tends to use the same words again and again. But he's excused, becaus Angels and Demons (the prequel) was one of the best books i've ever read. Except for the 12th chapter.

All in all, no one is perfect. the end.

You just completely analysed all of favorite books.

What about Bridge to Terebithia? Do you wish to crush all my childhood dreams as well?

Nah, I'm joking. To tell you the truth, I've only made it half of the way through Inkspell...and I've only read about five of the Narnia books. I don't really like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as much as I enjoy The Horse and His Boy. Therefore, the movie did not ruin the book for me! ^__^

Bridge did not hold my attention. I didn't get it...but then, i was seven and had the attention span of a roach.

I loved the third one. SO much. I think it was my favorite. No, that would be the first.

Okay, I have you beat SO bad- try around ten. It SOUNDS outragrous... but I read uncommonly fast. I was done with it before lunch time and I started as soon as I got it in my hot little hands.

Its slightly annoying to read that fast though.. everyone asks: are you skimming? NO DAMMIT, I"M NOT.

Anyways. Tamora Pierce writes amazing books. The Dark Elf Trilogy by someone was AMAZING and there are lots MORE books that come after it. -glee-

Uhm.. other good books. A good girly series starts with Sloppy Firsts, Charmed Seconds.. yadda yadda. I forget the author.. again. But oh well. Amusing books.

Lets seeeeee.. Eragon and that trilogy-- it forces me to go Valley and OMGOMGOMG. I loooooove them~

More good books... LOTR. You can't miss them. They are a definate read for your life series.

Heh.. I'll be quiet now.
