@pixie: Yeah, I've seen both of them in the arcade. Haha, one time, I went to some game place looking for DDR and the only had Pump It Up, so I'm holding a grudge against it. XD As for In the Groove, I just don't like the way the arrows look. Nothing can ever replace DDR to me. <3
@Kitsune: XD I know. It was pretty hard looking, right? ._.
While we're on the topic of other kinds of dance machines, has anyone ever tried/heard of ParaPara Dancing?

I've heard of para para paradise! =D Its the hand dancing game with the censors all at the top, right?
I tried it once many months ago, but its in a far away arcade. I play the other hand one... what was it called... dancemaniax! Forget which mix, but I don't like it as much as ppp because the censors are in different places, and I'm not as skilled with it. >.>;
Dude, after watching that episode with Stepps, I totally had new respect for anzu! That girl had skills! If I could meet one fictional character, it would be her just to steal learn her moves... ninja

Para Para Paradise might be the same thing. The dance machine I saw said "Para Para Dancing" And it was all in Korean. XD So i dunno.
When I tried it, I like... totally failed. At one point, I just stepped off the machine, heh.

Then it was probably the same game, different version. The one I played wasn't in eglish either, but it was... interesting!
I saw the coolest thing at a con a few months ago! surprised It was a couple playing the really new version of that game! It had a little screen where a character would be dancing on it, like ddr, but it was awesome because the player could actually copy the exact dance moves like the spins and steps and eveything that the little character was making! So that got my attention. It was so cute to see it in unison. whee Then it turned 10 times cooler, when she walked out of the game platform and her boyfriend jumped in and took her place mid-song and could do the exact same thing. They kept switching off like that, it was really amazing.

XD The ones where the people like, plan out routines and stuff?

I haven't seen planned-out routines, but a few solo people that looked like it coulda been planned. There was a guy at the boardwalk a few weeks ago that was doing crazy flips and drops, and all sorts of things. He's my idol. heart
For some reason, I don't usually watch ddr videos. I did see this 4 or 5-year-old do breakdown on standard though. 0.o It disturbed me.

yeah... theres one kid we always see at the arcade that's a friend/acquantaince of my little sister's. He's only around 12 and owns at not only ddr, but does crazy stuff on itg, and dancemaniax too.... obnoxious little show-off. stare Every chance he gets he completely tries to upstage the older kids... including myself! scream
I don't mind the modest ones, but that kid actually tries to be cooler than me. I must be sure to destroy him one of these days.

Psh, put him in his place. Go show him your DDR skillz. Hah.
Do you ever dance with someone else on 2 Player mode? I don't know if it's the same wherever you are, but when I was visiting my Dad in Virginia, the kids at the Arcade there were so pushy, they'd just get on the machine and put their money in so they could play too. ._. It was pretty annoying. No one here in New York does things like that, so I wasn't used to it. XD

Yeah, during tourist seasons, the arcade can get really hectic with little noobs that don't know how the lines work, and then arrogant elitists that try to hog the machines. haha, It kind of reminds me of what gaias turning into.
It's really annoying if people cut and just put their tokens in (I think thats what you were talking about?), but we don't take that crap. >_> The friends I play with usually snap on them for trying to screw us over like that and it can get ugly sometimes.... No serious beatdowns have yet occured, but DDR players sure can be scary. 0_o
It's really pretty mellow when it isn't summer though. Thats when I like playing best. I meet nicer people there, and sometimes get invited to play with kids there that are playing alone. It can be cool. =D
But vs mode is the best when I'm playing with one of my best friends because we're on the same level and like the same songs. We just look cooler playing together all in sync and such. People will sometimes give us tokens after watching. It's kind of kick-a** X3

XD Yeah, I know what you mean with the elitists and the DDR newbies. I was waiting in line with my friend, and this girl walked up and tried to cut. I don't think she knew we were waiting, or maybe she did. ._. I don't know, but I told her she had to wait because it wasn't her turn. I'm so shy, I can't believe I actually said something, now that I think about it.
I don't think too many people have arcade etiquette, but they should really learn if they plan on going to one ever.
I like playing with my friends too, because then I don't feel as self-conscious. XD We can look foolish together. But then again, all my friends steal my tokens. Usually, when we go to play DDR I get like, ten dollars woth of tokens, and they just use mine. Damn token theives. XD
Haha, people give you tokens? That's awesome.

surprised My friends are the same way! Despite the fact that I'm the poorest kid in our group I always end up the one being mooched off of, especially when it comes to tokens. It's ok though, that way they all owe me favors! >=D
Seriously there should be an arcade etiquette class... or a newby orientation or something. People have cut on accident before(I think) and it's annoying to have to explain.... not to mention uncomfortable sometimes. I don't like seeming like a b***h. Usually I just put up my token and watch the other players while waiting for my turn from a little distance so that I don't have to wait in the crowd of tourists that has formed around the machine. Well then I guess people don't realize I'm in-line because they've never encountered the token-line concept before. Which is understandable I suppose if you're from the middle of nowhere. My arcade makes it easy though. =D They have a little token place holder screwed onto the front of the machine so the newbies catch on a little faster.
