fredwise It doesn't really suit him. I liked the way he was all brown - hair, eyes, clothes etc. And it doesn't go with the coat - there's a picture of him wearing the coat over the suit... OMFG COLOUR CLASH. What the hell??? That's hurting my eyes!!! I know that brown can go ith blue, but not like that! DAMN YOU BBC WARDROBE PEOPLE.

Hey, I like the green coat. Makes him look like the Riddler... Or a leprechaun.

The green jacket is way funkier! xd Though the purple suit should be even brighter. That way he looks more Doctorish. And green is my favourite colour.

I got the new issue of DWM today with the interview I mentioned. This is what David says about his blue suit... (Please ignore any typos!)
I was always quite keen that, if I did a second year, I'd have a different suit. We're not dumping the old one; we're just adding a new one to the mix. I've always had a bit of a thing that whatever the Doctor wears should give him a distinctive look, and a silhouette that's recognisable, but should be clothes rather that a costume, just so that it doesnt look like he puts the same clothes on every day. That bothers me as a point of logic, really. As Julie Gardner said when we were discussing it: "Isn't it true that once a bloke finds something that he likes, he just buys the same thing in six different colours?" - which is very true, and so we're pursuing that logic. It's a way of not having a uniform, while, at the same time, it absolutely is a uniform. I suppose we're trying to have our cake and eat it!
My initial thought was that the new suit should be really different. Louise Page [costume designer] was sent off to find something, none of us really knowing what we were asking her to find, and she came back wit a material that's almost a negative of the brown suit - it's blue with rusty red stripes through it. In every other way, it's the same - it's basically the same cut. At first, I was a bit, "Oh, no, Louise, that's not the point! The point is that it's a different suit. It's got to be different, but still the same," which is, of course, a pointless and useless note. To be fair, Russell was on my side, but we were both wrong, and Louise was right. She talked us all round, insisting that actually she knows what she's doing, which, of course, she does. The blue suit is different - there's something fresh about it - but it's still the same basic image.
Fair enough?
