The graphics were cutting edge for it's time of debut. And even though they are not good by todays standards, those graphics add something to the game. Imagine how the game would've looked like without the beautifully drawn backgrounds!

But anyway, the plot, characters, and gameplay are the important part of the game, not the graphics. People will play a bad-looking game that's tons of fun, not a amazing looking game that sucks. And in the areas of plot, characters, and gameplay, Final Fantasy VII gave us a game that I believe hasn't been matched yet.

I honestly didn't enjoy the game as much because of the graphics. I'm so used to more advanced graphics , but the gameplay was pretty good. If you are picky about the graphics I wouldn't suggest it.

This is what I hate about games today, they make us look at the grphics rather than the gameplay.

Final fantasy VII is not a legend for it's graphics (although in 97 the graphics were considered great), it's a legend because of it's captivating story, it's characters and it's gameplay. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll get angry...

Buy it immediately.

I got the game for $15. Graphics aren't the best, but the gameplay hours are long, and that's how I like it, and the storyline isn't too complex and full of holes like I've seen in other Final Fantasies, so the game's definately worth $30 as long as you're not obsessed with graphic perfection.

You have to remember when it was made. Other games around that time look the same way. Kids these days are spoiled by graphics like in Dirge of Cerebus and KH2. When I started playing games....they were in 8 bit. So at least they're better than that <3

It's not just about the graphics, it's about the gameplay and the plot.

I feel that graphics are least important in a video game, although they make a game much nicer, FFVII wouldn't be the same with new age graphics. FFVII is a classic because of it's thrilling storyline and badass characters.

But I still support the FFVII for PS3 just because there's nothing wrong with improvement as long as the original stays in my collection of video games. blaugh

Most of today’s games have beautiful graphics but their story is about as exciting as watching an old lady punch a baby duck.

FFVII in it’s day was the best on the market, now it’s a classic much like Super Mario Bros. or Zelda.
