Uninturpted the rook continued to wail on the dam. Three times this time, it was only a matter of time before the dam came down... The rook only needed another hour.

((In the interest of fairness I'm gonna wait for shade posts less, so the miners have equal time to interupt and I stop hitting three times a post))

"Damnit" It wasn't there. She could have sworn...Okay...plan B. Then another critter began a swinging. ********, ********, ******** lifted her rifle and began firing at Eint, even as she was backing up. There was her life, and then there was her life. Anything got close, it was fired upon. The dam was a lost cause it seemed.
Sam was a near goddess when she had a gun, and she had several at the moment. Then she saw Flare, and as any properly pregnant woman will do, she fired. The b***h had flamed her hair. So she lifted the rifle and fired several shots off at Flare.

The first three bullets were absorbed by Sey's barrier, giving Flare a little time to charge her energy for another fireball. Before she could do more than think about using that energy, though, the shield had broken.
And Flare spent her time dodging bullets...sort of. She managed to protect her wings, and stay aloft, but one impacted rather solidly into her shoulder, making each wing beat hurt. Another more than grazed her side, getting the blood to flow but missing vital organs.
One of them whiffed right through the fur lining of her leather jacket. Any closer and she would have been dead.
As her total concentration was spent on keeping herself alive, she had no time to do anything else. Hopefully someone else would distract Sam so Flare could move.

Pulling off to the side, just outside the forest, Kalis got off the bike, whiping sweat off of his brow without removing the hat or bandana, keeping himself covered in subdued colors.
"Alright. You two, we're getting up there and setting ourselves up a couple of bombs."
He took the goggles down from his eyes, leveling serious looks at them. "Just go when you're ready; I'll be right behind you."
((Going offline for undetermined time. No combat going on currently; Kalis is assumed the... watsit.. 'super invincible super stealth' mode, following the water mage and Aiolos.))

Some of the bolder men charged.
Not at the shade, they could see that was worthless. They went after the mage that was protecting it.

"Okay, stay here and hide for a little bit" Aiolos said to his Kalis as he went to the edge of the forest. He took out his C flute and looked at the dam, it seemed like a few were fighting for it. Well, time to intervene... Aiolos started playing a tune, the notes were alternating long and short. The winds in the dry riverbed, picking up dust. The winds developed in a small whirlwind. Aiolos played louder, the winds became stronger as it started towrds the two figures, the dusty twister should develop enough to create a big enough distraction by the time it got to them. Paranoia “Paranoia”: A happy tune that has many alternating notes, the fast tune involves notes that are usually opposite from one another played, (Like high and low, etc.) The winds the notes make form a small twister in the area, picking up any light things or light people. If left to develop, the twister becomes stronger, and will gradually pick up heavier and heavier things until it can destroy medium sized buildings, which is the heaviest damage it can do.

Sey held her ground, keeping the barriers around herself and the Rook up. She wasn't going to move, she wasn't going to let them win.
Oh Falis... Someone save her... Sunstrike... Flare... Stryphe!!

The rook was wailing on that dam like it was in a Tai-bo video. One, two, one, two.
It needed a half hour yet.

Something dark rose up in front of the other men. A few jumped in surprise at how quickly it appeared in their midst. At first, it looked like any of the other monsters, the hood lowered, one eye blazing.
The first got it in the throat, a quick jab and a gurgling, no magic.
The second ended up on his arse, before the metal point was driven into his forehead. Which was then used to haul Sun's body up, so the tip of a metal studded boot could slam into the chin of a third man with a sickening crunch of blood, tooth and tissue.
That same boot came down back onto the face of the man underneath, wrenced the still dripping flameblade out of the cranium and went in low to high, groin to shoulder of the last "bolder" man to try and attack Sey.
Blood rained down, Sunstrike wasn't playing games.

"Get away from the dam, demon..."
Hein spoke to no one in particular. He had come in pursuit of those on the dirtbike, but now it was an entirely different matter. There was a huge beast beating on the dam, and was he about to do nothing? Of course not. Pulling back on his bowstring, Hein sighted down the steel shaft as he loosed the shot, a startling amount of pressure put behind it as it cut through the air and straight at the Rook's head.
Before he had even watched the shaft hit, Hein already had another pulled back, the distance of 400 or 500 foot distance being nothing to him as he let loose another shaft.

The few men who had decided to take fate into their own hands rushed past the Rook and tried to grapple with the mage; holding her down so she couldn't cast any more spells.
This successful, they would haul her to the edge...
The men who had realized by now that shooting at the Rook was useless, turned their fire on Aiolos. Mmm, popcorn.
edit: In responce to an attacker, a few other men 'boldened' and rushed at the one who had just slain their comerade. These men had everything from pistols to pitchforks, some with machettes and others with hatchets. They would surround Sunstrike and attack.

"This is ******** retarded.." Was all Samantha muttered to herself as she kept her aim on Flare. The stupid Rook thing was barriered to all hell and back, and if she let up on Flare, the demoness would be after her. Sorry, Crimson but at least I know you'll agree my life is a bit more valuable then who gets what land. So Sam fired off a few more shots at Flare. She was lucky this thing had a phelothra of bullets in it for a rifle type.
