China is actually starting to change. So not much has really happened to HK. HK is still kinda like its own free "country." China is becoming a really nice place though. A lot of the places used to be like really poor cities or villages. THe areas by HK are now cities and there are lots of cars and stupid motorbikes that honk every second.

oooo. cause i member back in the day (like within my college career) that china was doing hardcore economic reform in order to better compete in the globabl market. but they're keeping their government the same. and now i honestly cant member what i was going to say as a follow up to that so i'll stop.

Hehe. China is opening up but it probably won't change from being communist until the...president of China is it?, dies. Like Cuba. If the guy dies, Cuba changes!

not necessarily >,< if someone else comes into power claiming they are going to change the country, but continues to rule in the same manner it wont change. the people have lived with that style of leadership for so long, i dunno how well they'd be able to adjust. i'm sure that people are like 'we want change!' but can they handle it? i think gradual change would probably be best cause it'd give everyone time to adjust instead of throwing themselves into something that theyr'e not prepared for and have everything that they had before fall apart in the process of trying to struggle through the change.
