The way back down was actually more simple than Leboya might have thought. There was a little ledge that couldn't be accessed safely by climbing up, but from the plateau, one could easily hop down onto it and then down onto the sandy base. And this is what Tamba did.
Within moments, he was back on the beach and looking eagerly up at Leboya as she too clambered down.
"Mlinda has told me much of how her pride used to be, and she is very passionate about this place."

Leboya watched as the king clabered down, looking at the ledge he'd jumped onto first with curiousity, before following his lead, hopping down onto the ledge, then into the sand, taking a few steps to catch her footing without falling into the ocean.
Stepping around Tamba, the lioness flicked her tail, laughing a bit.
"It must be nice, having at least one lion left to bring a pride back into existance.." she purred, waiting in the sand for him.
"I'm sure someday it will be alive with little ones playing in the sand with their parents watching them....."
Another laugh.
"And I mean 'little ones' as in a more future sense then your coming litter."

Despite the haste with which he had entered fatherhood, he didn't regret it one bit, and Leboya's comment brought a smile to his face no matter what she meant. He walked a little in front of her, speechless for a while and just soaking up this moment - at last, some more company, and more importantly, someone else to help Mlinda.
By now, the morning haze had lifted and gave a very clear, beautiful day. Maybe now was a good time to resume his original intentions of hunting for his pregnant mate.
"I'm afraid I may have to take my leave of you now, Leboya. A lion has to hunt," he smiled earnestly.

Leboya nodded firmly, understanding. "Yes yes... it is all well, Tamba. I shall allow you to go hunt, as you wish to, and perhaps go to make my way to meet your Mlinda." she mused, smiling then turning in the sand to head in the opposite direction.
"I shall see you again later, should my meeting with her go well.." she added, her tail flicking ever so slightly as her paws sunk into the sand as she walked, humming to herself.
Quite a fruitful day, it was.

Tamba smiled malevolently, taking on his role as king with apolm and surprising grace. He bowed his broad head politely and lifted a paw in a sort of masculine curtsie before turning to the open plains.
