Naruhina is very cannon. There's a LOT of proof to support the parining, and like you said, if Naruto was still crushing on Sakura in the end it would show that he hadn't matured at all emotionally sinse episode 1. =O_O=;;

I'm not sure that Naruto will ever actually even be officially paired up with anyone.... it's very likely that the series will end with Naruto still being his single ol' self. But if he is paired up with someone, I have absolutely no doubt that it'll be Hinata.
Sakura and Naruto gain this sort of little brother-big sister realationship as the series goes on, which would make things a little bit awkward in some ways if they were actually paired together. Besides that, none of the other girls would even make sense paired with Naruto. =>_>=;;

Then there's SasaNaru, but seeing as it's a Shonen series, I SERIOUSLY doubt that SasaNaru would ever happen. xD

I also have a really strong feeling that in the end, NaruHina will be canon. And it's been proven a lot of times that I'm at least 1/3 psychic, so I just might be right! ^_^

However, if it turns out that NaruSaku was meant to be canon... or KibaHina... or something else that includes either Naruto or Hinata, I really hope they reveal it at the end of the anime. If they do it before then, I won't have the guts to watch Naruto. It just won't be right for me anymore. >_< So I just hope it's NaruHina all the way! ^_^

Well.......I have to say that NaruSaku fans are also getting their hopes up because of the hints in the manga..... sweatdrop

...HAH!!! shows how much he knows...stupid gym leader.... Anyway, Naruhina makes a lot of sense if you think about it. First of all, Hinata is heir to the Hyuga Clan and Naruto wants to become Hokage. It would make a lot of sense if The Hyuga Heir married the Hokage. Second, Naruto and Hinata go together like... Ramen and naruto! Naruto talks a lot and Hinata would not mind to just sit and listen to Naruto ramble on about the pros and cons of different ramen brands. Third, They would probably rub off on each other. Naruto, now with someone who will listen to him with out him heving to draw attention to himself, will calm down. Hinata, from being around naruto so much, would probably get a huge self confidence boost.
Even if their is no canon evidence of a relationship, their is no evidence other wise. "To prove something right, you have to show it is right a thousand times, But to prove it wrong, you have to show it is wrong only once." So far, all evidence of any relationship for any pair is circumstantial. The only way will will know if a relationship will ever be cannon is if it becomes so.

I don't wanna be mean to the pairing, but here goes:

NaruSaku doesn't make sense cause in the beginning, it was funny how Naruto always got smacked by Sakura no matter what. That was just for laughs, and it didn't seem like they would ever love each other one bit.

Besides, it's so mean to Hinata!!! scream She's loved Naruto for like, 2 years, and she has to watch Naruto fall in love with the girl who used to smack him 10 times in a day? No! Evilness! Evil away! Scram! Away from my Hinata!!! Gr!!!! scream evil scream
