Omi nodded, stepping a bit closer to Anen and clinging to his hand. She didn't understand fear... and had never really experienced it before while she was awake. This felt like her nightmares, but not quite... in her nightmares, there was a palpable terror that overtook her and made her want to scream. This was different, and instead of wanting to scream, she just had a distinct feeling that whatever was here shouldn't be disturbed. Still, if Devi was in there, they had to find him.

Anen squeezed Omi's hand reassuringly, feeling her sudden tighter grip. He kept quiet, not wanting to break the heaviness of the silence. There was an almost Dream-like feel to this part of the forest, and that probably meant that they were getting closer. He paced slowly through the trees, letting the feel of the forest guide their steps.

Sharp green eyes kept scanning around them, looking for any sign of blue fur or pale skin that would stand out amidst all the green. As they got deeper into the trees, she felt almost as if the land itself was watching them... cognisant of their approach and keeping a wary watch on them. Both hands clung to Anen's now, the girl trembling slightly as she almost wished for something... ANYTHING to make some noise. It didn't seem that anything was around them, even the trees holding their breath as if waiting for something. But what?

Familiar. It was almost familiar. Anen shook his head, trying to clear it of the hazy feeling and the faint echoes he felt/saw/heard. He turned quickly, seeing something out of the corner of his eyes. "Was that someone, to the right?" he whispered to Omi. "I saw something move."

Omi spun, her back pressed against Anen's leg for a moment before some inner part of herself told her to take a stand... and not act like a simpering little girl. For a moment, that thought confused her, but her attention was taken by the flash of silver that she saw just outside of the range of her vision. "Som'fin dere..." she murmured, glancing up at him before starting to walk forward towards where she'd seen it.

There was a ring of trees ahead, ancient olives and willows, exuding that planned, arranged feel. Like a storybook. Like the telling of a myth. Anen walked with Nozomi towards the trees, following that subconscious flickering of motion they'd both seen. The grass grew thick and lush under their feet, muffling sound like some kind of exotic carpet.
There was something in Anen's peripheral vision, and he looked up. Devi's pack. He tapped Nozomi's shoulder and pointed up. "Devi's nearby," he whispered.

Omi, however, wasn't concerned about the pack. There WAS one advantage to being low to the ground... sometimes you could see things others didn't.
Like a prone figure on the ground. "'EVI!!!" she yelled, not caring about breaking the silence anymore as she squirmed loose from Anen's hold and bolted into the circle.

"Omi! Wait - " Anen ran after her. He spotted Devi as he pushed through the willow leaves, and hurried after Nozomi to the other boy's side. The feeling of watchfulness was powerful, and he murmured aloud without thinking, "We bring no malice with us, only good will."
He knelt down next to Devi, noting first that yes, he was breathing, pulse faintly visible under his skin. He frowned as he saw bruises. But Devi didn't seem otherwise hurt. "I think he's just asleep, Omi," Anen said in a low voice.

Devi was definately asleep, deeply asleep. The bruises on his back left purple halos on his pale skin but he didn't seem to notice them.
There was a response to Anen's words, though barely noticable. A warm, sweet breeze blew through the circle, a faint echo of laughter coming with it and words whispered.
"I know that. Welcome Moirae."

Omi could feel the presence... and heard the conversation vaguely. Still, something within her reacted and she knelt beside Devmani, leaning over him with her arms folded as if she was protecting him. Something had done this to him... and it might still be nearby! The breeze already moving through the circle picked up a bit, leaves whirling around them for a moment as Omi 'reached' out with her mind and imagined a shield around them... unable to be seen, but just as strong as if it were visible. "Not let dem hurt 'evi..." she whispered, looking up at Anen with seemingly pupil-less eyes, the green irises having gone ebon black.

"The young one was worried for her friend," Anen said to the presence in the clearing. As the wind picked up, he could faintly feel the motion of a talent he was unfamiliar with, and turned in surprise to look at Nozomi. Was that hers?
"It's going to be okay," he said to her, and was faintly surprised to realize that he believed the sentence entirely.

"I know."
The voice was soft and gentle. When it spoke again it made sure to speak to both of them. "What hurt him is gone. You are safe here."

Omis' gaze flicked up and around them slightly, even though her body didn't move. Whatever was speaking to them SAID that everything was okay now... but how could she be sure?
It was when she looked to Anen and saw the expression in his eyes that she finally nodded and let the shield fall, only the cool, natural breeze moving around them. "Not goin'," she said simply, seeming to get comfortable right where she was next to/on Devmani.

"I think Devi will be ready to come home soon," Anen said gently. "We can't stay too long. This is a place for him. I bet it's going to go away when he comes home, too," he thought aloud. "It's part of his dream."
He fumbled for words, in a way he hadn't quite done for some time. "He needs to finish his dream so he can wake up. And Mr. Youko is going to be worried for you, and my dads will get worried if I don't come home soon," he added, putting a hand on Omi's shoulder.

"You are right in some ways. This place was made for him, but it will linger. He needs to be taken home. A battle that should not have happened has left him weak. He will be fine though, once he rests and wakes. Will you accept my request to take him back to his terrestrial home?"
