Well, her dad definitely does not appreciate his daughter. It's implied (in my own little head) that he cares more about his younger daughter and sees more potential in her to be the head of the clan. He doesn't fully appreciate Hinata's determination.
Later though, it seems that he gets..."nicer" towards Hinata (I think).
...........or else I've just been reading fanfiction too much. ^_^0

Remedi Well, you can't say that Hiashi never cared for her. After all, he DID kill someone to rescue Hinata from being kidnapped.
They're harsh, but I think that it's only going to make Hinata stronger and more independent, which is what she wants in the first place. So in ti's own way, her family is helping her.
But when Kurenai went to visit, and Hiashi was just degrading Hinata....I wanted to slap him. >< Poor Hina-chan. <3 Yes, but was he protecting Hinata or Hinata's Byakugan?

Remedi Both. The Byakugan for his clan, and Hinata as a father. He's not THAT cold. We don't know that for certain though, now do we? 3nodding

Hiashi is so mean towards Hinata. Especially when he handed her over to her sensei... crying He and Neji áre getting nicer however... well, sort of. I hope her mother's not dead neutral

I think Hiashi is the only "worth-to-be-blamed" in the family.
Neji is acting nice and caring with Hinata-sama.
Hanabi, well, she is not much likely to do appearances, but she seems a nice girl.
And... Hinata has a mother?

Hiashi was obviously a bit harsh on her in the beginning, but I wouldn't expect to see anything less from him.
And besides, Hinata's back in business with her family now.
Neji calls her "Hinata-sama" not "Hinata-san" like she does to Hanabi. Or, perhaps I'm wrong. (Hopefully that means Hinata will be leader, not Hanabi.)
Her father seems to be more encouraging now, and hopefully with the goal to prove herself to her father, clan, other people, and most importantly (xD) Naruto!
But the one thing I always like to wonder is...What does Hanabi and Hinata's mother look like? I bet she is quiet and timid. =)
AND I AM NOT DEFENDING HIASHI BECAUSE HE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. D<

I don't know why, but I still think that Hiashi is an incredibly cold person.
I'm glad that Neji became nicer. I want to see more footage of him acting so cool. whee

I dont think Hinata's family sucks i just think their rules are harsh. To me the Hyuuga family is probably my 2nd favorite clan but then again their rules toward their lower classes an such are very.....mean but the power of the byukugan itself is pretty amazing! I also think that their are alot of people in the Hyuuga clan that are also pretty good looking!!! heart
