I never really understood fanart---HONESTLY. Is the point to make it as close to the artists or your own style? I usually do my own style... as sucky as it may be. Because the artists style has already been taken. Am I wrong?

Am I wrong? fan art is simply what its named in my opinion 3nodding art that is made by fans in any way they wish. so you can do it in your own style or makeit resemble the artist's, whataveer you want. there's no way anyone can bag on you because its your own taste and how you see the picture or scene in your mind.

Am I wrong? see above :p Also, I think if you are imitating the author's style that is fine, it helps you learn about proportions and also to develop a style alon gthe way. And if you draw it in your own style I think it is almost like a way of showing your appreciation to the author, or how much you like it or something like that .... sweatdrop roxbaby, gorgeous pic!

Wow...everyone's art is SO good...I wish I could draw Watase's characters, but every time I try it ends up horribly deformed.

I would submit some, but 1) I have no scanner 2) I'm horrible at emulating Yuu Watase 3) I don't think I even have any at the moment...
