Well the feathers are related to hime's memories which relates to her state, so we're still on topic..

Thank you for the clarification. For those of us who haven't seen X-1999, we were all on different lines as to who the vampires were.

It's in the anime that Arashi-san explains the powers of the feathers. Of course, subtitles are notorious for not being done correctly.

Seishiro-san couldn't control the feather, but wasn't he using it for a purpose that would require it to respond positively? Mind you that he's the one who taught Syao-kun the martial arts. Wouldn't he have a strong heart as well?

uh..but in x/1999, they werent vampires....
the proof is in the spoilers shown in recent chappies. 3nodding

sei-chan said himself "i cannot control the feather. however, if it disapers from this world, its effects will vanish as well." . just repeating what he said.

..i really do want my volumes back.. crying
thers so much stuff i have to look up...

Ok. I guess it's time to clarify something about the feather's power. If you remember in the anime, Arashi-san expalined that the feathers are a source of power that is unsurpassed.

Also in Piffle world, the feather would light the entire town according to the parts dealers. Tomoyo-chan realized that the feather was for Sakura and named her the heroine of her filming. It is the prize for the race. An everlasting battery that could light the entire town.

Another thing one must remember is that the feather in Oto was bieng controlled by Seishiro-san. In Oto Seishiro wished for the digital world to become real so that he could flush out the I1 oni. When all of the TRC squad couldn't defeat him in Oto, he made the digital world appear so that he could get a wish from her. The way he manipulated the feather's power was so that he could enhance the power of the wish granted by Yuko-mojo-san. He also has a time-space travel key, but his price was his right eye. He's in search of Fei Wong Reed and the female vampire with him.

Sakura has an inate sense about the feathers. The feathers call to her and make her respond, kinda like a radio station that's been dialed in on a radio. This was only seen in the anime though.

I hope that helped some.

but wouldn't that prove that the feathers somehow "power up" or improve something that relates specifically to the world they are in. like, the feather had the power to make the kudans stronger, to light up a whole town, to heal little sick children, create illusions and other things?

edit: or help the person controlling the feather gain what they want, as stated, like Seishiro.

You have to remember that Sakura-hime had power even before she knew it. What the feathers do is an amplification of her pure heart. Clow-sama acknowledged her power when he told Sakura-hime that Syaoran-kun needed a friend. The one power she acknowledged is that her smile could help him loosen up. If the giving of her heart was enough to melt a strong-willed heart, would it not also be a power source to others when released? She's still alive and the feathers are responding to that. They give off power so as to attract her, but at the same time are of use to others. Am I making any sense?

no no, that makes perfect sense. and i think that's completely true too. we can't forget too, that the feather in wrong hands can bring wrong doing... that might play a key figure in all this.. maybe?

Hmm...that's an interesting point, which I rather agree with lemoura-chan..

makes sense, yup!
but no matter how mjuch immense power she's got..
i bet what fei-chan(chan?!)'s plotting to do with it wont work. most likely raising someone from the dead, as seen before in koriyo... ninja

OK, I know that this is a bit off topic, but I had to ask. Our English Professor pointed out the analogy of a woman that stayed home and did all the domestic work and looked out for the children to be in a "guilded bird cage". Do you think that this has a foreboding effect to the way either Syaoran-kun or Fie-sama will treat Sakura-hime?! (I've seen pics of the movie, so I'm guessing at the looks of the cages themselves and what happened to the others.) It hit me in the face and made me do this. (It bothered me enough.)

Hmm...the concept of the cage is to protect the person inside, but the person inside generally wants to escape...but causing too much trouble directly goes against Sakura's nature when she can help it..but...oh my...isn't this a twist?

The whole theroy of Sakura being infintile makes absolute sense! But there is something I don't get... only it doesn't exactly relate to the initial topic, but it does relate to the feathers... may I ask?

im not totally sure about the feathers... but it could be that because its sakura's memories. so, without the memories (feathers) it makes her be an infantile??? confused

The word 'infantile' means 'like a baby or child'. In this way, the feathers tie directly into how she acts and this is the thread where we address things that may be reasons for her strange actions. Any theories are accepted.
