darkrock64: I understand...For a while I had two dragons guarding me, and my friends cat (Who was kinda mean ^^ wink Then the dragons died, and I found my actual spirit guide lady... She's nicer than my friends cat, (who still comes around, but seems to have mellowed out a bit.) but she's still a little grouchy.

It can be. A person's familiar is unique to each individual. People may have the same animal, but each animal is different due to personality, etc.

There are a variety of ways to find your familiar. I really can't tell which one would be best for you. For myself, I listened to music, put myself into a trance/meditation, and searched through all of the animals/beings that showed up to find which one meshed with me. Ask around. Different people have different methods. Good luck.

i dont have a familiar persay but my totem animal just came to me in a dream and told what to do.

Heh. I'm still not quite sure what my relation to the kitty/human/dragon thing is....Familiar seemed closest. mrgreen

Does your familiar have to be physical, or even appear in dreams?
Can your familiar just be?

I don't know much about familiars, but I do know that you can see your animal totems in your dreams... I think that they're kinda the same thing... is a sense... I mean, they're both guides, right? Eh... like I said, I don't know much about familiars, so I could be totally wrong.

Awwww. This makes me a bit sad, cause i'm not allowed to have pets where i'm living and I really want a cat...They just get me...I don't have a familiar yet, but I know mine would be a cat. I just know it. That's why I hate that I can't have pets so much.... crying

My dog talks to me. But kinda telepathicly and when noone is around. Mostly when I'm upset about somthing. Hes got a great voice, It's deep, calming, and sensitive. I dont understand this familiar thing though.
